DarkElf27 Lt. Brookman Flyers are not an end of the world introduction. Flyers can still be shot at by regular units and flyers can be used as hard counters who can fire upon other flyers without any penalty. Well, except for daemons, who lack ranged attacks. But in my defence, the ******** deserve it. Hah! But how many armies actually have flyers right now? It'll take years for codex releases to catch up with the concept, unless they release a multi-army expansion. Right now Imperial Guard (Valkyrie gunship), Blood Angels / Grey Knights (Stormraven gunship), Orks (Dakkajet / Burna-bommer / Bltiza-bommer), Space Marines (Stormtalon), Dark Eldar (Razorwing), Necrons (Night Scythe / Doom Scythe) and Chaos Space Marines (Heldrake). Just to point out, as shown with the Stormtalon and Orkish flyers, GW might do flyer releases in between codex releases with rules published in the WD. There has been talk of the Tau Empire and Eldar getting a WD treatment as well. They are, as of right now, the only armies without a flyer.

Then came the Blood Angels, who didn't get their model until a release wave later that year. Both Necrons and Dark Eldar got their codex entries before the models were released as a later wave. Chaos got the Heldrake as a codex release.

Well I'm woefully behind on that picture then. sweatdrop Perhaps SoB will get the WD treatment eventually, as their entire codex is a WD treatment.

I wouldn't count on it, armies only get the WD treatment once before they go codex. And remember, allies are always an option. Say, a Guard Valkyrie or an Astartes Stormtalon.

I see conversion opportunities for SoB Stormtalons!

Went fishing around last night and found a 6E fan-created codex with some pretty wicked "cover art". Still looking forward to an official codex, however.
Anybody hearing any rumors about that?
I hear however through a leaked source that GW had been planning on releasing some new sisters models even as early as june of this year. We'll see how true that is.
On the flip side, For those who know my latest projects, I found a source for immolator parts smile the owner of the bits store said he'd be on the lookout for an immolator canopy biggrin

Hey there, I've littered the Painting/Modelling subforum with pictures of my Repentia conversions, and that got me to thinking....
With GW models, especially the pewters (since SoB tend to be severely lacking in poses, as well as pretty much -any- variety and newness whatso-freaking-ever), how faithful do you believe a person should be to maintaining the integrity of a particular model in a codex. Do you believe its up to the interpretation of the person making their army, or should they stay faithful to the true type of model that it is and work solely within the confines of a particular model's "upgrades" (again, not that SoB actually HAS any upgrades)
Whatcha think?

With an army like the Sisters of Battle which hasn't seen a damn thing in years, I'd say do whatever the heck you want and damn the codex.
Of course the only downside to that is if they ever DO decide to revisit them soon, I mean if they didn't mean to do something with them EVENTUALLY I would imagine they wouldn't still be making models for them...

Pewter is a metal that is cheap, malleable under right circumstances, easy to produce, and quick to cool. Having been to WHW for invasion last week, I can tell you definitely that they pour pewter to order.

October or November may see the release of a digital Sisters of Battle codex, which is pretty much a reprint of the White Dwarf codex, with a new Warlord trait table included.

That's kind of cool. When I originally started getting back into Warhammer 40k I wanted run Sisters because NOBODY was running them, and as far as I know nobody within miles of me even HAS any Sisters. I might run them as a ally just because, they aren't Battle Brothers with any Space Marine armies because...Yeah...But they at least have a better relationship then others.

Sisters only have one Battle Brother sadly... My wife plays them, and we ran them at Warhammer World a few months ago. We came in second, and the winning doubles team also had a Sisters player, so while rare, they're definitely still competitive. 3nodding

Sisters have a lot of flame units from what I understand too which would be useful as s**t against the low armor armies like Orks and Nids. Just about anything with a template is the bane of those armies, well from my experience anyways.
