Imperial Guard have been my favorite army for a long time. Something about the standard guardsmen, facing off against the horrors of the galaxy with nothing but a length of plasteel, and an unshaking faith in the Emporer.
And they got damn big guns most of the time. Leman Russ tank in an HQ choice anyone?

well i only use one entrechment for my HQ depending on what my current game stratagem is but mostly its a nice display peice. I dont have crap for armour but i might do a medium company

well i know im gona make my army look kinda like this
HQ with
1. 2 Anti-tank support squads(Las Cannons)
2. 2 Fire Support Squads(2 Auto Cannons 1 Heave Bolter for each squad)
3. 1 Morter Squad(morters)
4. 1 Special Weapons Squad(3 Guardsmen w/ sniper rifles)
5. 1 Special Weapons Squad(3 Guardsmen w/ Gernade launchers)
thats my HQ
2 Commissars,2 Sanctioned Psykers, 2 Priests
Elites
1 Ratling Squad
2 Squads of Cadian Kasrkin troops
1 Techpriest Enginseer
Troops
1. 10 Cadian Shock Troopers
2. 10 Cadian Shock Troopers
3. 10 Cadian Shock Troopers
4. 10 Cadian Shock Troopers,
2 in each squad haveing 1 Flamer or Gernade Launcher, Vox caster
and sargent all in Armored Fist Squads(having a Chimera Transport)
Fast Attack
2 squads of Sentinels 1 squad of Auto Cannons and 1 squad of Lascannons
Heavy Support
1. 3 Leman Russ Battle Tanks
2. 3 Leman Russ Demolishers
3. 2 Basilisk w/ Earthshaker cannons
thats just what i would like my army to look like

i tried to add up all the costs and my estimation is around 1,177 $$
now thats a lot of money to me and i dont have it all right now but over the years i will make this army

Try doing some converting. That should help with the costs if you do it right.

Well, there are some good models in the fantasy line, and if you combine them with models from the IG line, you should be able to come up with A good army. Second, try to find stuff on EBAY, I have been on there for less than 3 days, and have already gotten about 2000 points worth of stuff for about $150. And if you are really, REALLY broke, you could always do the Proxy Army Of Doom.

lol im not gona make a proxy army but over time i will get the money to by troops for my army and over time my army will get bigger and bigger

Has anyone scratchbuilt a Basalisk? I am thinking about converting one to Loot for my Orcs, but I can't afford the actual model. Also, do you Guardsmen think the Bassie is worth its pointcost? Has it been effective for you in battles? Would a different vehicle be a better choice? And what sector of the Imperium is constantly losing ground to the vile Xenos scum every day and/or what are the colors of some Imp. worlds PDFs there? Anything is helpful.

Yeah, you can convert some good bassies, I would suggest just buying some of the bits to make it, though.

Bassies rock...they put they hurt down on anything that gets within range awful quick...
Makes it hard to beat an entreched Impy Guard army...I can mostly run them over with banshees but their armor is always trouble for me... stressed
