It has been reported that the Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys, and New England Patriots are all interested in trading for Titans CB Pacman Jones, who was suspended for all of last season.

If Patriots get I won't mind but it's something Pacman Jones a solid player.

I personally think that 6 years is too much for Tatupu. He is a great and smart player, but he is getting up there in age, and is also a bit overweight.

Atlanta Falcons sign veteran and clutch kicker Jason Elam, who was previously on the Denver Broncos.

Cleveland Browns reach an agreement with linebacker Shantee Orr. The deal is for one-year, and Orr is supposed to be one of the most versatile current LBs.

Same here. He should be a decent replacement for Samuel.

Well Belichick and Kraft would not tolerate any off-field troubles, so they should be able to set Pacman Jones straight with a strict policy. He is a good player, but I don't think he could ever replace what Samuel has done.

        That's why I said he's a decent replacement. Asante is the best CB in the NFL. Sucks though since everytime I hear his name it reminds when he missed that interception in the SB. ;_;

I don't know is Samuel is the best CB in the league, but he is definitely a top three. He fit in really well with the Patriots, and should continue to do great with the Eagles. Pacman Jones would not be able to fully replace Asante. Anyways, the Cowboys look like the favorites to make a trade request for Jones, at the moment.

By the way, concerning that miss-interception by Samuel in the Super Bowl...Samuel was too short to get to that ball anyways, and it was a tough wobbly-thrown ball by Eli Manning that was common of him in the regular season.

Chad Johnson skips the team training practice today, but Marvin Lewis states that he's staying put in Cincinnati.

A minor tampering violation will cost the 49ers their 5th round draft pick, and they will switch picks with the Chicago Bears in the 3rd round. Franchised by the Bears, the 49ers contacted Lance Brigg's agent during that time period, where he could not leave Chicago.

Brandon Marshall of the Denver Broncos will apparently be out for 3 months, following the weird accident.

Since the Broncos let Jason Elam go the the Atlanta Falcons, they seem interested in kicker Olindo Mare.

The 49ers look like front-runners at the moment to sign Takeo Spikes.

Just recent...

I didn't know the accident was that serious for Marshall...The Broncos report that he may miss up to 3-4 months. eek ...Also, a lot of sports shows are kind of joking about it, like PTI, Around the Horn, Jim Rome is Burning, the Hotlist, and Sportcenter. I have no clue what happened, but things could get even worse for Denver fans...

The Chicago Bears are showing interest in Arkansas running backs Darren McFadden or Felix Jones. Ironic, because the Bears have much bigger needs and priorities that they should worry about.

The Dallas Cowboys are clear front-runners in a trade for Titans suspended CB Adam Pacman Jones. A deal looks to be getting closer, and could be proposed within the next month.

There is speculation that Bengals WR Chad Johnson may even hold-out of the 2008 season, to address his wants as a player. He says that he wants out of Cincinnati, wants to go to a team that wins, and "would rather play in the Arena Football League, than on the Bengals."

St. Louis Rams sign WR Reche Caldwell.

Texans release injured center, McKinney.

DE Kevin Carter re-signs with the Tampa Bay Bucs.

Pittsburgh Steelers sign center Justin Hartwig to a two-year deal.

Trufant reached a six-year, $50.2 million deal with the Seahawks on Wednesday that includes $20 million in guarantees. In the first three years of the contract, he will make $28 million.

Good deal for both the Seahawks and Trufant. Seattle has one of the best defenses in the league, and have a great secondary. Trufant plays a major role on that team. He would have been a hot commodity elsewhere, but the Seahawks and Trufant both have a better chance at winning it all, together, with this deal.

The NFL 2008 season opener game may start at an earlier, 7pm time, on Thursday, September 4th. The New York Giants will host a team to be named on Monday. Luckily, I get to go to this game mrgreen

Long snapper Rob Davis retires from the Green Bay Packers.

LB Clark Haggans agrees on a one year deal with the Arizona Cardinals.

The Indianapolis Colts signed president Bill Polian to a contact extension through the 2011 season.

It looks like Dallas might land Pac-man Jones. Dallas has offered a 7th round pick and have added a player. Jones has two years left on his original five year, $30 contract, the Cowboys wants to redo the deal, most likely to one year. This would be a steal for the Cowboys.
