*Maggie briefly tears her gaze away to look up at Bard. She opens her mouth to try and explain, but then closes it - the situation's pretty self-evident*
*She refocuses as Cora instructs her, applying a careful amount of pressure*
*She clenches her teeth, both fearful and angry as it occurs to her who is probably responsible for this* The Seraphim . . . . he must have attacked him again . . . .

:::Cora finally readies the cellular regenerative stimulant, the same formula that she just used to treat Bard. She lifts Tavin's sleeve and injects it. She tosses the gun aside, and gets the rest of the sheets:::
:::She had known it was the Seraphim. Not only did she have a feeling, she'd seen two slash marks, paralelle to one another, and proportionately distant from one another on her locket, as they were on Tavin's body. Only instead of scratching him, they seemed to have punctured him very deeply:::
He should not have gone to fight the Seraphim alone... Maggie, I have not seen this type of wound. You already know of instances where the Captain has fought with the Seraphim. Is it familiar?

*Maggie takes a deep breath, shoving her emotions down, and shakes her head* Nay . . . he's been hurt by the Seraphim before, several times, and badly . . . but ne'er like this.

*Tavin's bleeding is lessened by Maggie's pressure, but not stopped. Its as if the blood isn't coagulating in the wounds*

:::Cora rips the sheets longways into 6 inch plys:::
:::She looks up at Bard, the same question on her mind:::
Bard, have you?

*Bard shakes his head* Never.. If this is The Seraphim's work, it's unlike any wound he's dealt before...

:::reassuring that their lack of knowledge isn't going to condemn them:::
Then we will just do the best we can.
:::Cora has tied together the peices of shredded sheets into a very long wrap. She kneels down, and sees that the cloth Maggie is holding down on his wounds are already soaked. She moves motions to Maggie to move the cloth aside:::
The wounds are still bleeding at full strength. It is likely that a major artery was hit. :::She pulls out another vial from her belt. As she applies it she doesn't bother to explain, she forgets a moment that they may not find it obvious that its a platelet coagulator. Still, she knows that in the case of such a major flood rupture, coagulation may not help:::
:::She takes the already soaked bundles from Maggie and places them back on the wounds:::
Bard, will you please hold him up while I wrap him?
:::Bard moves in and holds up Tavin from under the shoulders, and Cora begins to wrap him:::
:::When she finishes, she motions to Bard to set Tavin back down. She wipes a bit of sweat from her forehead, and she looks up at her friends wearily:::
He is losing a lot of blood...

*Maggie watches Cora as she finishes wrapping Tavin's wounds, then looks down at all the blood on the floor, her hands, the soaked bandages, and shudders briefly, feeling a terrible sense of deja vu*
*She clasps her hands together and closes her eyes in a quick prayer, then opens them to look to Cora again, hoping her knowledge from the future may increase Tavin's chances* Is there anything more we might do?

He needs a transfusion. :::She grimaced looking back down on him::: But there is no medical equipment here.
:::She presses a button on her cuff, and the same rectangular protrusion that tested Maggie's health earlier slid out. Cora used her finger to smear a drop of Tavin's blood onto it. She pressed one more spot on the cuff and it retracted, then a moment later the computer's voice sounded:::
Blood type analysis complete. Analysis error. Blood type inconclusive.
:::Cora had suspected as much. Tavin had explained once before that he was not human:::
:::She looked up at Bard and Maggie. Her eyes deep, and troubled. She knew what she had to do. There was no doubt in her mind, whether or not she would...but dealing with its consequences would perhaps be painful:::
:::With one last look at her friends, Cora pressed a button on her right cuff, it retracted a gap down the center and loosened slightly so that Cora could slide it off. Cora exposed her ungloved hand, and turned it palm up. With her other hand, she drew a line down the center up her forearm. Her skin latched open, as though on seemless hinges. Inside her arm was obviously mechanical. She pulled a very thick wire appart from some other, and unhooked it. Once sepreated from the others, its end was needle like. She moved over to Tavin's side, lifted up his wrist and wrested it on her lap, and inserted the wire. She was now hooked to him. Her head hung in shame, and she would not look at Bard or Maggie:::

Cora... that's amazing... you're cybernetic?

*Maggie stares at Cora's arm, astounded, then towards Bard as he speaks.* What . . . ? *a thousand questions race through her mind, but she just shakes her head - now's not the time to give voice to them. Whatever Cora's doing . . . whatever Cora is, she's trying to save Tavin*

:::She feels their eyes, staring at her, burning a hole into her. She was a freak. It was bad enough that her intelect was trapped by a human body, but that body was so weak it had to be fixed and stablized by a machine. It made her different, which was dangerous. And she had had quite enough:::
:::though she refused to look up at them, they might see that tears were falling onto Tavin's arm. It was a while before she would speak:::
I begged them...not to...or at least, I would have. They commanded me. When I injured myself, fighting rebels, instead of replacing it with a clone part...they wanted to try an advacement. I had no choice...

Cora . . . *Clones and cybernetics are well beyond Maggie's range of knowledge, but she can see that Cora is upset by the condition of her arm* Whatever happened . . . ye're still yerself, are ye not? *she looks once more at the wires connecting Cora to Tavin* And if yer . . . arm . . . can help Tavin somehow . . .

*Bard kneels down beside Cora. He has no idea what to say to her, torn between his concern for his friends and his disgust for those that have harmed them, shamed them, violated them... weary from being awake and in pain for far too long... his tears begin to flow. He reaches out and embraces Cora tightly.*
You have no idea how beautiful you are....
