"Certainly," said Isaran, half-waving. "As long as it's for something you can share..." His resources weren't unlimited, but it would be better to rest now than demand rationing and be unable to find more later. It was especially so because these were young people, all but him.

Glaived then follows the instructions on the box to the letter. After that, the scent of cookies wafts through the place. Glaive was glad... at least he had not burnt them. He carefully places all of them on a platter and places them on a table.

Jade forgot all about playing as a all to familiar scent hit her nose. She followed it to where Glaived was and saw the cookies at the table. Her eyes widened excitedly as she ran over. "Cookies!" she exclaimed, "Can I have one, please?"
Her tail swung back and forth in excitement as she looked up at Glaived hopefully.

Voila watched Jade ask for cookies. The smell brought back one memory of when Voila was with her mother before she was banished. She remembered her mother handing her some cookies after a successful mission. Voila felt a small tear well up in her eye. She lifted a feathered arm, hoping no one had seen.

"huh?oh... sure." Glaived said and then asked Jade, "Would you like me to tell you a story later?" The feral-ness was dying it seemed and Glaived's sanity was coming back...

"Yay!" cheered Jade as she bounced up on chair so she could reach the cookies.
She looked at them intently for a moment trying to decided on the perfect one, before finally choosing on. She took a bite of it happily. "Yummy!" she declared then looked back up at Glaived. "Really!? A story! Yay! Yes please."
She was just about to jump up to hug him, when she remembered being told not to do that to anyone anymore. See settled instead for smiling brightly up at him as her tail swung excitedly behind her.

"Ok..now, I am going to tell you a fairytale. This tale, takes us into the realm of where a talking cat saved his master. He was called puss in boots. The story starts like this:Once upon a time . . . a miller died leaving the mill to his eldest son, his donkey to his second son and . . . a cat to his youngest ..."
Glaived went on and smiled warmly as Jade was looking at him happily.

Isaran watched them, sitting on a stool. Today was the first time he had ever seen anyone's mind but a full feral's. Although the sight of people's minds was new to him, he was somewhat experienced in seeing that of a full feral. They were filled with something like grief and jealousy, hatred and remorse, and a distinct thought pattern that went into constant cycles and therefore allowed the body to act on its own. He had to hope that more than this one could be made to think again, by some means...

Voila leaned against the wall. She listened to the stroy. The eagle-elf began to fix her feathers. They were slightly ruffled from flying. The elf knew messed-up feathers were not good for flying.

soon, after a few minutes, the story had ended. "So, the cat's master became the marquis of carabas and married the princess. That'sbetter than a donkey or an old mill, right?" Glaived smiled as he finished.

Jade giggled as Glaived finished the story. "A lot better. I really liked that story." she said happily.
She hoped out of her chair and hugged Glaived. "Thank you for telling me the story." she thanked smiling up at him.

Azriel had wandered rather quietly out the front door while everyone was distracted. Shutting it behind him, he sat on the porch and looked about the street. He has been thinking a lot about his parents, he's not even sure if any of them are alive. Even worse they could be feral. He sighs heavily and looked up to the sky.
[sorry for my absince but I think this will work things out.]

Isaran looked around, paused a moment for thought, and then left the room silently but with a slight air of urgency. He went through the entire house, and then quickly stuck his head in the kitchen door before going back around to the front door. He opened it and found the cat there. "You gave me a bit of a scare," he said. "It's getting dark soon, then there'll be a lot more ferals...Trust me, you don't want to be outside." Noting the tone of the deer's body language, Raerin had followed him, sniffing slightly, trying to figure out what he'd wanted. So now he was behind him, and finally understood what he'd been looking for.

Voila finished preening her feathers. The half-bird leaned against the wall. She was tired from what happened today. She noticed Isaran gone. The girl walked off to look for him.
