Vaali “A green…?” Instead of the greens, Vaali caught herself in the middle of gazing longingly at the newly-hatched gold. It made her feel a little guilty, as if she’d been caught doing something naughty. She did have a reason to wish first for a gold if one would have her. That reason was in the stands right now, looking down unknowingly past the little girl who dreamed of being noticed. Yes, she did hope for a gold… but in her heart, she loved all of the dragons. “I like them all, too,” she echoed after Nyara. “I’d even like a bronze, if they could choose girls.” She laughed a little at the end of that.
When Lusialu’s arm tensed about hers, she knew why. There were so many babies on the sands, and some of them were acting awfully predatory. She winced as the bronze bit his green sister, yet was fascinated. The green seemed to let the act roll right off like water over her back, barely even squawking at the pain before going on as if nothing had happened. While she wasn’t particularly afraid, she was cautious of that group. She gave her friend’s elbow a reassuring squeeze.
Farinalgo The girl’s mention of Western’s hatch brought all sorts of grisly memories to mind. Henwas. Falienn. Others who’d been horribly mauled, including the infant dragons themselves. “I was there,” Farin said, his tone suddenly heavy. “I… hope to never see anything like that again.” His tender emotions were just under the skin, as usual, and he discreetly bit the inside of his cheek to forestall them. A’myl was watching, and Ay’ril was likely there as well. He would not embarrass them if he could help it. Nor did he want to alarm any babies. His eyes went to that small, pale blue egg. It hadn’t moved yet. He silently wished it all the best.

Haelwen Each time Haelwen blinked it seemed to trigger another egg hatching. First another green, this one seemed a little bit calmer though, but she was keenly aware of the red flashing in its eyes as well. Then, a cracking sound drew her attention to Fianth's clutch and there was a new green and a bronze on the Sands, he seemed just as uneasy as she felt and she hoped that his appearance might help put a stop to whatever his cousins were planning... but, that would be far too simple of a solution, wouldn't it?
Haelwen saw the new green moving quickly towards the candidates and hoped they would have the sense to move out of her way before they got bowled over, she didn't seem to be threatening, just very energetic and the Sands were getting crowded and she wished she knew what the dragonets were thinking. The woman shifted her weight, not wanting to be caught locked in place if she -needed- to move. Then a movement to the side caught her eye and she peeked over quickly to see more eggs wobbling and a man. When had he got there? She blinked in confusion, had she really been so distracted she didn't notice him standing right next to her? "Seems like we may have picked a bad spot to stand today but maybe they are just testing all of us, trying to see who is faint of heart." she commented and gave a little huff of a laugh, humorless, as she eyes the ever growing numbers of unpredictable dragons on the Sands. "I don't recall hearing of this many babies being on the Sands all at once, I know this is possibly the first double clutch but... shouldn't they be Impressing? Isn't that the main priority of a hatchling?" she mused aloud quietly not -really- expecting anyone to answer her but she continued to shift her weight around while still keeping her eyes trained on the dragonets from Rhianth's clutch as she managed to calm herself back down. She had faced many potentially dangerous situations before and while this was certainly a new type she had faith that everything would turn out well in the end. Between now and then though, things could get interesting and she was ready.
Melmar Haelwen sees Rothgar and speaks, he can answer if ya want smile
Avid_RPer18 Haelwen speaks, Solameya would hear her and can respond if ya feel like it
Hyseren Too many babies to keep track of, too many pairs of red eyes, too much tension. Hyseren shifted anxiously, still moving slowly closer towards his sister but he stopped when a new green came near, and then a new bronze approached the green that had still been searching through the candidates. At least these two seemed fairly well behaved. He kept his eye on them though, not wanting to be caught in the way if something changed. A glance at his twin told him she had made up her mind and there would be no convincing her to move until she deemed it necessary anyway. He sighed, so stubborn, but she generally had a good intuition so maybe she would be alright.
He didn't have much time to worry about it anyway because suddenly Fianth's eggs were hatching quickly as well and he was in awe of how beautiful they all were. He wavered for a moment, caught between moving closer to his sister, staying where he was, or moving back to where he had been. Eventually he began to slowly return to his original place on the Sands. It wouldn't do any good to be moving around anyway, if something -did- happen he doubted he could make it to Haelwen in time to be of much help and moving too much might just confuse the hatchlings who were searching for their lifemates.
Luckily for Hyseren he had decided to pay more attention to himself and his own surroundings than his sister because it allowed him to step quickly out of the way of the excited green dragon who cam bounding through their ranks. Unfortunately he managed to trip over something... himself? Or someone else? He wasn't sure but he pushed himself back up off the Sands and dusted off his robes looking around to see if he needed to be apologizing to anyone.
Quote: Hyseren tripped over... someone... anyone near the Disney clutch really, if you want to interact with him we can say it was you!

Ielin - High Reaches Candidate
There was a breath of relief when she uncurled, taking in the candidate’s form.. Not hurt. Red from the sand, but mild burns heal easily enough. But he keeps an eye out as she stands up, peeking around for dragon babies on the move.
He raised an eyebrow. “An angry green? Ah, that one..” Ielin nods slightly. “Hidin’ in a ball likely gonna get ya hurt more, but it’s okay. Ya okay now, though.” But he smiles, trying to go for something comforting. “Yeah, no worries. I’ll do my best to keep you safe, okay? But you keep your head up, an’ an eye out for babies, an’ you’ll be okay.”
The broad man pauses slightly, shaking his head. “You’re good. You’re scared, an that’s okay. But you wouldn’ta been picked to stand if you weren’t good.”
Yet he sees more red eyes than calm ones in the babies that hatch--but he takes a deep breath and smiles a bit reassuringly once more. He’d make sure Amila was okay.

b]Siv
Oh, now see, the dragonets were going to... Something....
....Honestly... Siv was still sure the dragonets might brawl, or attack them all -- them being the Candidates. Imperio's creel earned an eyebrow raised, the female staring athim intensely. Right. Sweet. Prove it. Not like she'd fight a dragonet -- that was suicide -but a match of wits was fine.
Amila
Amila hid a bit in Ielin shyly, taking his hand.
"A little, thank you." She admitted, clinging anxiously as she watched. More angry dragonets-- that was frightyening, especiallythe way they eyed the Candidates-- and so many dragons now! Amila make a small whimper despite Imp[erio's creel-- while she almost wanted to go and make sure the baby wasn;t creeling sadness, his companions were dangerous seeming.
Too dangerous, and the teen shook despite the heat.
"Are they going to attack everyone?"

A'YE
Oyath's commentary had turned a bit sour in the most recent event of a particular candidate Impressing and although A'ye assured her it was for the best, the green was fuming out her mixed feelings. She approved of greens, for certain, and seeing all of them on the sands had been a particular high point; those with red eyes were her favorites, A'ye was coming to notice. The potential battle royale had her chattering her bets (all green), and the rider was about to chime in when a voice caught his ears and a body slid in to the spot next to him. The greenrider opened his mouth to greet S'del, though it quickly snapped shut as the man next to him started off with a compliment. Face burning bright red from cheek to cheek, A'ye turned his head away in an extremely vain attempt to hide.
It was impossibly to not notice how good S'del was looking, how well he cleaned up. A'ye was ridiculous enough to even think he enjoyed the man regardless of his appearance, but he was thankfully smart enough to never say such a thing out loud. "No, no, it's alright. I understand you have your responsibilities after all. Oyath and I tend to not get picked for much so I'm always free." It was a blessing, really, since it meant he could come here and make sure they were able to sit together. "You....you also look stunning. I take it your Wingleader wanted all of you to make the best impression?"
Above him, Oyath was making gagging noises over the nature of the conversation. Was A'ye going to tell S'del how he'd worked hard to get nice clothes for the hatching, and had done his hair? No??? Then they both needed to shut up.

Solameya | She/Her | HR
Solameya had grown quiet, watching the ever increasing number of hatchlings on the sands. The way some of the dragonets were banding together, reacting off of each other? Thirteen, if her count was correct. Concern was snarling up in her gut. So many were sporting reddened eyes. Absently, slowly, she started stretching her muscles as her gaze drifted from hatchling to hatchling, starting with twisting her head and neck, to shaking out her arms, and so on down to her feet and ankles. “Be ready to move should the need arise,” She spoke in a low tone.
Giving a thoughtful hum, she shook her head, wishing she had grabbed a hair tie before heading to the sands. She’d deal. “It certainly seems unusual. They must have business to do, or have a particular idea in mind on how to feel out who or where Theirs is. I’ve not heard of any other double clutches but maybe it just seems an odd number when compared to a single brood. After all, there’s plenty more that haven’t even stirred yet, plus any more that might be hidden.”
The Let It Go blue was starting to seem more pressed, urgent.

Quote: open; Keleres is deeply concerned for Let It Go, also wary of a possible fight breaking out, and amused by How Far I'll Go. <3
Keleres [WW] - 21 - she/her/hers - JM Masseuse (spy)
It seemed to Kel that the already-hatched dragons wanted more company. Maybe they'd been friends in the shell? Certainly, Crucio Green was trying to stir its companions- even despite the ichor from her bite wound.
But, her eyes were drawn to Let It Go once more. She had enjoyed touching that egg- and fondness mingled with concern as she watched him try to find his rider. It’s going to be alright. You can do it. Keleres sent warm, reassuring towards the blue- or tried to, at least.
Still, there was definitely some form of intangible tension settling on the sands. Perhaps she was taking candidate lessons too much to heart- but glancing at the assembled and motley crew of Harry Potter dragons left her worried. It seemed like they were spoiling for a fight… She flexed her toes in her sandals, half-wondering how much grip she would have if she needed to move in a hurry.
Still, in spite of the brewing storm, Kel stifled a giggle for the antics of How Far I'll Go. The beautiful green seemed far more interested in exploring than anything else- even if it meant a few young men were knocked over in the process. Her lips curled into a smile. You got this, little one. As long as she was having fun, and nobody was seriously hurt…

((post for Meep!))
Akaris "I'm...I'm alright. I think," she answered, trying to reassure herself as much as anything else. "There are just a lot of them." So, so many hatchlings, with more wriggling and breaking shell all the time, and Faranth only knew what was about to go down in Rhianth's clutch. Even though nothing was happening yet, the potential for something bad to happen combined with the sheer number of dragonets on the Sands (or soon to be on them) was rather overwhelming. And it didn't help when a green from Fianth's clutch bowled through some of the boys! Even if she didn't mean to cause any harm, Akaris couldn't help but worry.
Which she was not supposed to do. She needed to think positive thoughts, or at the very least neutral ones, but it was getting harder and harder. Maybe this had been a bad idea after all. Shards. Shaff not clinging, if it helped her feel better and be a little less afraid, she was sharding well going to do it! It was better than letting negative thoguhts overwhelm her and causing trouble for a baby, wasn't it? Right? Yeah, she was going to go with that. Not that she was clinging clinging, not the way she had at the Hatching on the beach, but she was definitely standing as close as possible and not letting go of Rylyrr's hand. She took a deep breath and told herself that she could get through this. Watching the blue who'd hatched from the Let It Go egg, she was reminded of its advice, and stood up a little straighter.
She'd worked hard to be a good candidate, and she would be a good candidate. Everyone whose opinion mattered thought she could do it, and the last thing she wanted in all the world was to disappoint them.
