"Of course, I would be heppy to teach you, Perigor." He nodded and then added, "end Histeol cen be our taste-tester, if he would like." He'd made it a point to think about additional activities that could work better with Teo's senses... taste-testing didn't require sight at all. And he was confident that Teo wouldn't dislike the food - after all, anyone with Litch genes should like it! "We are heppy to hev you, Ustule." He nodded in response, though....
The look on her face was... Sick. Was that the word? No, it was something else, but she was gone before he could ask what was wrong. The antlers... she'd been looking at them sourly all night long.. "Eet ees probebly a bed memory. We should let her be for now - perheps I will find her later and see what is wrong." He nodded, and murmured a small thanks to a passerby as they handed him a second pink light. There, Ustule's light had been acquired.
"I do not know about the rest of you, but eet ees getting hard for me to cerry all of this..." He shifted his arms which were both overburdened with prizes. "I theenk I will be making my wey out of here - but do not feel like you need to come with..."

Ganymede nodded, granted it was mostly... tall people that would get hit first, but ah well. He wasn't about to make that comment - not with Chries anyway. "It'd be nice if they wouldn't be so aggressive about these..." He sighed, situating his new book under his arm, then looked around the stall... Hm, nothing particularly interesting.... "See anything you like?" Perhaps he'd get a little clue as to what sort of series Chries liked, even if there wasn't anything here. Gift giving was more of a baphomet thing, but that didn't mean he couldn't borrow that tactic...
While he was busy looking, someone slipped some candy into his jacket hood.
//CASUALLY DECIDES HE'S WEARING A JACKET...
"I'm sure you'll get there! You could always do it like flashcards." He nodded and giggled a bit. "But that requires pictures." He hummed as Xeno explained the name for the new pet, and then nodded his head in agreement. "Persephone seems like a wonderful name for him!" He leaned back in his seat with a thoughtful hum, shifting legs a bit to stop one from falling asleep.
"Hmmm.... Well I'd been visiting for a few years, so it was more like he met me, but I think it was around the two month mark...? Somewhere in there." He nodded, then looked down to Xeno with a little grin, "he'd be a little embarrassed but he didn't reaaaally start talking to me until after I pulled him out of a stream he'd fallen into. It was a slippery day, plenty of dew on the grass and his shoes didn't have the best treading."
During this little talk, someone came by and tossed a lollipop and a plush his way. He caught them both, then stared at the plush.... then down to Persephone.... then at the plush....
"Hey..! This looks like Persephone!" He blinked in surprise, then held it out towards Xeno. "Clearly it belongs with you!"
- ( 8 ) - "Oh? I've never tried sewing or knitting. I've seen some lovely work though. I understand it can take a good deal of skill and patience for some things. What sort of things have you made? Are there things you especially enjoy making?" Fig curiously looked around from where they were, taking a moment to imagine what school might have been like. He smiled at the thought. Of course, Cam did paint quite a pretty picture. "Sounds like a worthwhile time. I look forward to experiencing classes and seeing what the teachers are like. Does you family live far from here?" A small part of him was indeed worried about rude or hurtful folks. Some grudges and prejudices ran deep. The fey secretly worried about someone acting out based on those old prejudices. He shook his head to banish such worrisome thoughts from his mind.
"I certainly wouldn't mind a little something sweet. Is there anyplace you'd like to go in particular or a certain game or booth you wish to visit?"

- ( 3 ) - An older student came trundling by with an overloaded armload of plushes. They seemed to be having some trouble. Samira scooted to the side to let them pass. A small plush got worked loose and fell to the ground. Trotting to catch up, she picked up the small kidden plush. "Excuse me, you dropped this!" The elder nightmare turned and shrugged with a shake of their head. "Nah, kid, you keep it. I can't keep a hold of everything." The young mutant nodded and called an appreciative thank you after the fleeing student. Around the small plush's neck was another bracelet! Carefully working it free, she slipped it around her wrist to join the one she had gotten before. It matched her stocking too!
- ( 19 ) - The demon was suddenly seized by a wave of nostalgia when she spied a ring toss game. Putting in for three rounds, Endzela hadn't warmed up the first round, but did better in the second where she won a cluster of candy canes, which she tucked into her stocking. In the third round, she really hit her stride though and won herself a giant fennekit plush! How cute! Hm. It was a bit too big to stash in her stocking as well, but it would do fine tucked under her arm.
Ganymede, as it transpired, was entirely correct--the book stand was much safer than the rest of the room. Now if only there was something Anchriesel really wanted at the book stand... he sighed. He more or less had everything he wanted. There weren't any books on magic--unless you counted that book on alchemy. Even then, he wasn't sure. It looked more like a comedy than anything else, a parody of forbidden tomes or whatever. He halfheartedly picked up a copy of A Solstice Song. Well, he didn't have a copy, so he might as well...
Well, the interview seemed to be going well. He had a new pet--which he had not really expected, even if the last event he had attended he had gotten a familiar. Maybe he had expected another Nezubat? But then again, maybe he only would have gotten one if he'd brought Styx? But who brought their pet to a party?
Not that there were any Nezubats around here, so far as he could tell. Ack, he was getting distracted from his actual purpose! To interview!
Mind you, there was a lot to distract him. Like a stuffed animal someone handed him with a smile, or the new book someone else handed him. How could a story compete?
What was he saying?! He was Xenophon! The story always won, because it was a story! That's how things worked! He stowed the book away in his stocking, which was starting to get full again. As for the plushie--it looked just like Persephone! He decided to name it Proserpine. That would be a good name...

It was nice to have someone to talk to in her language. She sat down on a bench, setting her things next to her. She scooped up the fennekit and pet it, still sipping from her hot cocoa. 'So, Kanda, what's your favorite animal?' That seemed to be a good start for getting to know a freshling, right? Someone tossed a bracelet at her. She slid it onto her wrist beside the first one. Snowflakes. Pretty!
Okay, so now Batholith was alone. NOw what? He didn't want to leave until he had one of every color of wisp floating around the room. Two wisps was not going to be enough, and he'd only caught one so far. Maybe that could be his next quest. But in the meantime, it looked like someone was bringing in a fresh set of books to the book booth. Maybe they had something new. He wandered over there to take a look.
He was rewarded in his vigilance. A Solstice Song? Batholith had heard of it, and seen some movies based on it, but he'd never had an opportunity to read it before. He snatched up a copy quickly and kept looking. Maybe there would be more...?
The party was definitely heating up. Oriset was feeling mighty hungry about now--she hadn't had a full meal since breakfast, and it was early afternoon. Was there anything to eat around here besides candy? It didn't seem like it, but hey, at least there was peanut brittle, which someone helpfully handed her. Well, that would do until she could find a hot dog stand or something. She opened it up and offered the Demon a piece. "You want some?"
Quilo was having fun making sock puppets. He wasn't sure if he was allowed to make more than one, so he spent more time decorating the one he already had. A bit of glue and a scrap of fabric--a chic scarf! He smiled, proud of himself. It was looking really good right now. It seemed, though, that some people had nothing better to do at the event than just...hand people stuff. In the amount of time since he'd won the last stuffed animal, he was also given a yellow bracelet and a stuffed jackalope, too. He wondered if Ella would like one...
Zalir made zeir way over to the book stand--it was as good a place to start again as any. Zey were soon glad that zey had--for as soon as they started organizing the stacks of books zey found, to zeir delight, two new books that zey had not even realized had been ordered! Zey smiled, unable to contain zeir delight, and slipped one of the novels--Island of Treasure--into zeir newly emptied stocking.
It took a little while, but not all that long in the grand scheme of things, to discover the source of the flying plushies. It turned out to be a pair of...well, the only description that came to mind was "siege weapons" that were being operated by a group of college students. An air cannon was being loaded with stuffed cats right now, while a trebuchet was being loaded with kiddens. Seriously?! Who did stuff like that?! They were all under the command of a green--ugh. A Litch. Suddenly, everything was explained.
They didn't really seem to be pointing the cannon at people. They were simply firing in the air. And even from here, Kuni could hear the chorus of yelps and "What is wrong with you?!" coming from around the grounds. An idea was forming in Kuni's head...he needed accomplices. He looked around for a likely victim. A young--Imp?--seemed to fit the bill. "Hey! You! I need your help on somesing." He plucked a mug of tea from a nearby vendor, eyes never leaving the Imp.
Vederat blinked when a... a tree?! Started talking to him. He was pretty sure it was talking to him. It was looking at him, certainly. Vederat looked around, then looked back at the tree. No, the tree was still looking at him. Tremulously, he stepped forward. No...it wasn't a tree, it was a...darnit, what had their teacher called them? A Dryad? It was a type of Daydream, from Above. Apparently they were living at the Academy now. "Um, were you looking for me?" he asked. He glanced as an adult handed him a glowing bulb necklace. He grinned, said, "Thanks!" and went back to looking at the tr--Dryad.
The voice made the imp blink, jumping somewhat on her toes as she spun around to see the same Librarian rushing towards her, a rather large stack of books in hand.
"Oh... my... Did you get more books?"
Before the other could even properly respond, the young imp found herself with yet another book in hands, a quiet sigh falling from her lips as she smiled, shaking her head slightly. "Well, thank you!" she called after the woman, falling into a soft giggle fit shortly after as she shook her head. "I wonder if there's anywhere safe I can put this stuff for later,... this is all getting... way too heavy," the imp muttered to herself, her head canting to the side a moment later as she glanced around the area.
"Why is there no like... real... food anywhere?" Alis muttered to no-one in particular, glancing around for a long moment before their eyes fell upon one of the newer booths, decorated seemingly with various different flavors of candyfloss--and by various, it seemed there were actually only two.
"That... isn't... quite what I had in mind, but now some cotton candy sounds... really good," they muttered, looking up towards their Cockatriel for a moment, before offering a smile and a nod of their head. Before long, Alis found themselves pulling little tufts of candyfloss from the stick, popping a little in their mouth at a time.
"Mm, it tastes like blueberry, I think. It's good,"
As if the demon needed another sparkly boa around her neck. As if the bright silvery one wasn't enough.
"Oh gosh, there's more! Look at how cute these are!" the demon said with a grin, giggling softly after a moment as she pranced over towards the same booth as earlier, which seemed to have since increased its stock by quite a lot.
A few games later and Aaminah found herself practically drowning under her double boas, mixed with the fennekit that acted as an additional scarf--though before long, the small mewling creature was forced to relocate to the demon's head, tucking itself carefully between the woman's horns--much to the girl's amusement.
I am a full grown adult, going to university. If I want to get myself a large collection of cute stuffed animals... I will.
And get a collection, she certainly would. Braelyn went from booth to booth, trying out the various games at her disposal. Sadly, she wasn't exactly the best at the majority of them, it seemed. Despite that, every so often she did manage to find a booth that she could succeed at. It wasn't long before she found herself continuing on through the festival, clutching a rather precious Jackalope plushie to her chest as she giggled quietly.
Well, it was time for something sweet, wasn't it? Autumn didn't know what she was craving in particular, but it had to be something big, filled with sugar, and ready to eat as is. She bounced her way around the stalls and ducked through gaggles of children, before finally spying her prize lying on a tinsel covered table. A bright red peppermint swirl lollipop, exactly what the doctor ordered! ... Well, not really, but she was pretty sure it would be okay if she took it regardless of a doctor's order!
"Mmm, so minty!" She mumbled through licks. "... I wonder how they make lollipops. Is it hard? I bet I could learn to make my own if I studied hard enough!"
Oh, so Coco had played some games already? That was fine with him! She could show him where all the best prizes were! He couldn't help but beam at the idea of being buried under a pile of plushies, candies, and toys. To have all the things they couldn't have while they were staying in the orphanage was was every orphan's dream, aside from being adopted of course! He could hardly wait to experience everything!
"Wait, they have face painting here? I want to get my face painted!" He exclaimed, wiggling a little in excitement. "Where's the booth? Is it far from here?"
Melanie had found a nice place to sit down after meeting her new Fennekit buddy, Holly, and started delving right into her new book. Holly crawled up into her lap and curled into a ball, assuming it was nap time, and Mel couldn't help but leave one hand off of her book to pet her. This sweet little creature was clearly a gift, but from who... She didn't think she'd ever know.
She turned the page and reached down to pet Holly again, only to find a strange pile of hard candy next to her. Candy canes, huh? Where had these come from?
"I think I have a secret admirer, Holly." She laughed, rolling her eyes at the thought. "Or someone who really just likes showering people with gifts! Tis the season, after all!"
London wasn't sure where to head to next, but he knew that he couldn't trust himself to go back toward where the planters had been. Maybe he could play a game to get his mind off of them? There had to be something interesting to play...
"Bean bag toss, ring toss, knock the bottles down..." He muttered as he perused the games. "Come on, there has to be something to play out here that isn't so-"
Suddenly, something bright and shiny was thrown his way by someone rushing by. He caught the object and squinted, but couldn't track where the person had run off to, so he turned his attention back to the object itself.
"Oh, neat, a necklace." He said, quickly putting it around his neck. "But, I wonder who that was... Kind of an inventive way to hand out prizes, that's for sure."
