"If only it were so simple. Unfortunately, force is the only way to convince mortals to open their viewpoints. Look at the humans from that world... they allowed the planet to be sucked nearly dry of its life, to the point that the Beast was awoken, and it took him nearly destroying all life to make some people accept that that was the wrong way of doing things. They even called Avalanche terrorists and villains for trying to stop it, if you didn't know. The sad truth of the matter is that it's so much easier to blindly hate than it is to accept differences in ideology or viewpoint. And differences in race? Forget about it." Velora certainly made strong points, and it was obvious that, given her intelligence, she wouldn't do something without a very strong reason for it. Of course, her plans for conquest were for more than just destroying the barriers that divided race, but that was perhaps her biggest motivator.
"She isn't, it's true. But she is very attractive. Mm, what I wouldn't give for..." She trailed off a bit there. Cosmos being a goddess was just icing on the cake, because she was hot. "A-anyway..." Probably not something Aiko wanted to hear. "I maaay be able to keep you from having to drink blood. But let me tell you, it's not as bad as you think. It's genuinely delicious! Think of the best drink you've ever had, and multiply that great taste by a thousand. And even that doesn't compare!" She may have been overselling it just a bit, but when it was the blood of strong beings, it really was like that. "I'm not as nice as you may believe. It's true I'm kinder than my dear mother, but nobody in this world is perfect. I'm no exception. As you've seen with Midgar, I'll do whatever it takes to achieve my goal. Nothing is too far to make our worlds better..." She smiled. "Krul is something of a parasite. A very stupid, irritating roach that won't die no matter how many times I stomp on her. I do love her, and I wish I didn't have to kill her, but she refuses to cooperate... If only my father wasn't with that stupid Troubadour, maybe..." She sighed, sounding rather genuinely sad about the whole affair. "It was so close to happening, too..." As if Aiko would have any idea what she was talking about.
As Aiko said her last piece for the moment, Velora smiled at her. "I do really appreciate the offer, sweet girl. But, think about it..." She leaned back a bit in her seat. "You're part-demon, and that's already cause for civil unrest in your kingdom. If word got out you were also vouching for Reapers, it would only make things worse for you and your family. Even if you were the only one saying it, people would associate all of you with it, and who knows how the common folk would react?" Her smile turned somewhat somber. "You see? It's never as simple as just talking about it. Even those who defend our kind can be branded heretics and criminals for doing so. Even a High Serenitian like Artemis Lylatt is openly scorned in the Forest Kingdom for his deep association with one of my kind." This realization might make Aiko understand further why Velora deemed her own extremes to be necessary. "An extreme problem requires an extreme solution, unfortunately. We all do what we must. And I must stick to the ideals I believe in." There was perhaps no other person as passionate about Reapers as Velora was, and it was her deep love for her own kind that drove her so much to want equality for them. And she would gladly force it, as she had already proven.

"Oh, hello..." Appearing there before her throne--or, in this cycle, she supposed it was still her mother's throne--Velora gave a mocking little wave. "Think you could pencil in a visitor or two?" Literally an instant after they appeared, a large crowd of Reapers suddenly flocked into the throne room, drawn by the incredible power of the Serenitian Goddess of War. Like moths to a flame. Weird to be an outsider here, in this cycle. Weird to see this castle the way it was, before she remodeled the realm. "I already claimed her, losers. Go salivate somewhere else." There was a chorus of disappointed grunts and irritated scoffs as they realized the goddess was, in fact, claimed. "Hello there, Krul... how are you? Do you recognize me?" Depending on how good Krul's senses were, she might recognize this was her daughter, but clearly one she'd have no recollection of creating. And if her senses were really sharp, she may realize who the father was. Velora didn't really care either way. "No, you probably wouldn't. I'm not here to fight, but if you want me to release the leash on this chaotic goddess, I'll be happy to." She waved her hand, materializing the glowing contract. "You'll sign this in your blood. It compels you, and those you stand for--the Reapers--to cooperate with Avalanche and the Serenitians until we kill Selene, something much more powerful than any of us. After that, you can go back to blindly hating each other for no reason if you'd like. But you will sign this contract, or your successor will after I kill you and let my partner here slaughter most of your people like pigs. So, which will it be? Death, or no death? You can run if you'd like--I'll just take the throne from you again, and sign in my blood." She really wasn't here to be polite or friendly, was she? Just like with Apotheosis. She knew exactly what she wanted, and she was going to have it. She could do it over the bloody remains of everyone in the room, like with the Beast, or she could do it amicably, like in Apotheosis. The choice was Krul's.

Krul's hand that covered her face as she slouched there in that very throne, as unelegant as a Queen could be,slid down to rest under her chin, where she...continued to look rather dreadfully bored. Why was she like this? Did she become bored of randomly attacking Serenitians, or did she have some plan behind it all? It really was unclear, for now, though, her attention was drawn to the familiar presence of the woman. As her interest became greater, Krul would finally slowly get to her feet, taking a step forward toward the two, but otherwise not making any sudden moves that would indicate she was a threat. "No, I can't say I do...Your presence, on the other hand....I would say it's impossible, but you are standing here....What exactly is going on? " She would remember if she had a daughter! This was making her question her sanity, and her memory..."...I think I would know if I had a daughter...yet, you share the same presence as one.." There was also the clues that, hey, she looked very similar, that pink hair stood out pretty well, though she wasn't the only one with pink hair. ".....Are you from the future? " She did happen to know of some of the kids showing up in Marvel, of course she kept tabs on the Serenitians, it wasn't very hard to miss some of them. "..This is making my brain hurt.." Processing the fact of a daughter she didn't know she had, as well as deciding on her choices. Krul wasn't normally one to take the smarter option, she also took orders from no one, but something about this woman, and the Goddess she REALLY didn't want to see here, kind of made her choose the option that would best keep her, and her Reapers alive. ...For once, she would make the right choice....
"Very well, then...we'll see how this goes. " She wouldn't change for a second, she had no intention of becoming 'friends' with anyone, and especially not the Serenitians. But for now, she would put away her goal to destroy them. She rather did like to live, and if doing this would ensure she and the other Reapers survival, she would have to bite her tongue and go along. "Until she is no longer..." She said in a quieter tone, before lifting her finger to her mouth, and biting it to draw blood. Taking another step forward, she began to swiftly sign her name, using that finger to sign her name with her own blood. Probably not quite as elegantly signed as oh dear Nero, but it was decent enough.

"Hmm, yes, what could it all mean? Real headscratcher." Velora said with some amount of sarcasm, though it really wasn't Krul's fault, this time. Anyone would find this to be bizarre. "I'm surprised my existence flew under your radar all this time... do you know who my father is?" She lightly probed. Despite her thinking she didn't care if she knew, as she asked that question, she realized that was only her lying to herself. Even still, the pleasant memories of the three of them together, as a family, were things she couldn't forget. Didn't want to forget. Until Selene took it all away... "In a manner of speaking..." She said aloofly. "If I said I was from a future where you were in a happy relationship with my father, what would you say? You'd say, "impossible!" wouldn't you? You don't-" She cut herself off, biting her tongue. This wasn't why she was here. She had to remain focused. "Well, it's not very hard to do that..." She lightly teased at her last words on the subject, before moving on. Krul's lack of intellect was often a joke between the three, back when they all tried to kill each other, and then again when they were a family. ...Days long past.
"...Oh?" Wow, she really didn't expect her to agree so quickly. Perhaps the Krul in this cycle was wiser than the one she had known. Even against every Reaper in the realm, the battle would be Velora and Cosmos absolutely massacring most of them. Krul must have understood that, too--or perhaps she recognized the threat Selene posed. "And signing without reading the fine print--classic Krul. You should really have a lawyer around." Maybe she should try to contact Yanfei. "Though there's no cause for concern, I'm not misleading you. But it's important to know, all of you," her voice raised to address all the many Reapers gathered there, not just Krul. "Any action that breaches the contract--attacking Avalanche or Serenitians unprovoked--will burn your blood until you either desist or die. We're all going to play nice. Those of us who don't won't live to be killed by Selene." She dismissed the contract, turning back to address Krul. "Now, the contract also requires you send one emissary to Avalanche to help them in your place until Selene arrives, as a show of alliance. But given how much they all hate Reapers, I would suggest sending two. As for which two... It's up to your majesty, of course, but can I recommend Aeon-"

"What?!"
"-and Kana?" She smiled. "I think these two would be the most adaptable to live with Avalanche for the time being. After Selene is dealt with, they're free to return here and continue on your little hatred crusade. What do you say?"
"You've gotta be- who the hell gives you the right to make decisions?" Aeon said while walking towards the center, where the group was.
"The contract, and the goddess who really wants to decapitate a bunch of Reapers." She smiled. "I wouldn't give her a reason to indulge."
"Tch. Krul, don't listen to this bullshit. If you have to send someone, don't send me."
"Aeon has two sisters already with Avalanche, so he'd be a lot more likely to be accepted without hostilities. Trust me, your majesty, I've given this enough thought."
"Then why the hell send Kana?"
Velora shrugged nonchalantly. "Reasons." She smiled insincerely. "Maybe she'll thank me later."

Krul crossed her arms as she stood there looking utterly confused. "...You don't carry his presence at all. It is an unfamiliar one to me.." She didn't exactly know Ephraim all that well in this timeline, her encounters with him were so few, it wasn't really enough to 'feel' his presence anywhere, and that was due to not having any form of interest in the king, a huge change from the timeline Velora knew where she almost always seemed to be after him, it was certainly a complicated and strange relationship. "You would be right..As right as it is impossible for such a thing to happen. The idea is so ridiculous, you are trying to tell me, in this timeline of yours, I'm .....kind? " It even felt weird to say those words. Kindness was not Krul, hence her name! Love was not in her nature, and a happy family? That was a joke. "I've had plans for him, but I can promise it wasn't anything of the sort you mentioned.." She didn't actually know of who they were speaking of, Ephraim wasn't in the picture, and the only one she knew well in that respect, who showed such interest in her was not the king of Renais, but the king of Serenity. She attracted kings, somehow! "Eskallion is a cringeworthy kind soul, so kind that he would like to be with the woman who wants to kill everyone he loves.." Well, she may now understand Krul wasn't talking about Ephraim. "And you do not have the irritating kings presence at all. "
As it came to the signing, Krul really didn't care to question further, as she so well displayed. "I only care about the basics, you told me enough. " She didn't figure she would have to further convince her Reapers after Velora laid all the rules out, seeing as they all very likely wanted to live, they probably would not disobey their options.
Glancing to Aeon, a small smirk formed at her lips. "Afraid of those sisters of yours? Or is it a little birdie? I'm almost interested to see how that turns out myself.." She didn't think it would be much of a present experience for him! Clearly.

"Seriously? " Kana strode her way to the group, though instead of a displeased, raging face like Aeon had, she looked to be rather thrilled of the idea! What a strange Reaper. "The humans are interesting creatures, some of them with the abilities to make greater food then even the purest blood! With such a massive group of people, there must be someone who loves to cook! " Her mind was clearly in the wrong place, Selene, who could kill them all very quickly upon showing up, wasn't even a thought in her mind when it came to the idea of possible delicious food and meat she would most certainly be hunting. While she didn't mind it raw, she had come to realize that cooked was far better, and she got less odd looks that way too!

"Thought so..." Velora hid her disappointment well, but she was certainly disappointed. Not that it mattered--this was the only cycle in which L'Arachel was in this world, which meant the likelihood Ephraim were to be with anyone else was practically zero. Still... she did long for those days... but this confirmed it was almost impossible for her to ever return to that feeling. It disappointed her, but that had to be put aside for now. Ephraim and Krul both recognized she was their daughter, even though they didn't really know each other, maybe that was enough. "Mm... Well, I don't suppose it matters. "Kind" might be overstating it. You, me, and my father all tried to kill each other on numerous occasions, hee-hee..." Why did she sound so happy about that? Honestly, those memories were precious to her, just as the ones of them as a family were. "But eventually, you and him--well, it was to fight me, ironically, you became closer, and..." She paused, frowning. "...It... doesn't matter." That was the one thing that could possibly drive her off the path of conquest, she believed--her parents being together, and them being a family. And that's what happened, and now it was all gone. Taken away from her by Selene. "...Well... enjoy that." She muttered. She didn't expect to feel so disappointed by all this. She thought she'd take it in complete stride, but... "Well, you and that irritating king are in an alliance now, for the time being. You can go have all the fun with him you want." A rare opportunity, perhaps, for Reapers and Serenitians to intermingle without the possibility of hostilities.
"Krul, for ******** style="color: violet">"The queen has spoken," Velora said in a very pleased voice. "You're not going to disobey her, are you~?" Aeon really was outnumbered and outgunned here.
"...Whatever." He didn't look forward to the next... months? or however long this was going to be. He vanished, then, intending to go to Avalanche. He didn't exactly want to disobey Krul and suffer the consequences. Or... the trigger-happy goddess.
Velora turned to Kana, grinning. "Oh, you're definitely right about that. In fact, I'm pretty sure Avalanche recently acquired an excellent cook from my contract with Apotheosis... You should go meet him. Maybe if you befriend him, he'll cook as much food for you as you want." Velora was having fun using her knowledge of past cycles to set certain things up, wasn't she? She wasn't quite the matchmaker Alisa was, but she was looking forward to seeing what might result of this.
Turning her attention to the surprisingly quiet Cosmos, she tilted her head slightly. "Sorry there wasn't any bloodshed," what a thing to apologize for! "Our next two targets I expect heavy resistance from, though--and I'll let you choose. Shinra, who will be easy to conquer, or the Forest Kingdom of Serenity, which will be much harder?" She thought it would be fun to let her make some decisions in this little partnership, so she wasn't just leading her around by the metaphorical collar. "Shinra will mostly be like swatting flies, aside from that Celeste girl. For the Forest Kingdom, I'm certain Althesa won't agree to sign a Reaper's contract without a fight. So, which would you prefer doing first?"

It was quite the interesting reaction, Krul blinking with such confusion in her normally blood-thirsty eyes was a rare thing to witness. "That sounds a little better..I can't see how that classifies as a happy family for most people, though it is interesting. " A family that tried to kill each other, sounded fitting to the Reaper's, actually. There were some who didn't take so well to their own family members taking the Serenitian side and would fight them, or kill them. That was the love of a Reaper. "Who is this 'father' you speak of, then? If it isn't Eskallion...I see no other possibilities. " Her last words, Krul waved a hand in the air as if dismissing the subject. "Right, no thank you. " The fact she had no interest to be with Eskallion in that way might be the best news Velora would receive from her.
"Ohh, is that so? I love him already! " She rubbed her hands together in excitement. It was almost shocking she wasn't already drooling at the thought of some delicious meats sitting there, awaiting her grand arrival. "You're much more fun then Krul here, maybe you should be Queen instead? " Kana said with a playful grin, it was difficult to tell if she was serious or not! "Well then, I'll be seeing you. Thanks a bunch, Pinkie! " Velora, for now, was on her super great person list! "I expect there to be some at some point, I suppose I'm not to worried right now. " She gave a small sigh. "Though I did expect SOME resistance from Krul..." Maybe Eskallion did get to her without her even realizing it? "Hm.." She paused, grinning. As if that question needed to be asked at all. "I'll take the challenge, it may become a greater one then even Selene.." It did seem pretty impossible to think Althesa of all people, would ever sign such a contract.

Krul's reaction was rather priceless--that was about the appropriate reaction, too. "You're cute when you blink like that," Velora lightly teased, obviously not meaning that in any romantic way. "Well, that was at one time. We were happy together for a while after that, but... Selene ruined all of that." Even more reason she considered Selene so unforgivable, and would be glad to destroy her utterly once the time came. "Mm? Oh, of course you'd ask that..." She paused for a long moment. She knew she shouldn't answer that question, and yet... it was difficult not to. Some part of her still wanted to hope their family could be together again, even if she already knew that was nearly impossible. And when Krul dismissed the idea of wanting to be with Eskallion, she swallowed hard, that giving her the push. "E-Ephraim." She stuttered out, and immediately felt like she shouldn't have. "He's- also a king, er... you probably don't know him. I guess kings that start with E are attracted to you, ahaha..." God, she felt like an idiot saying that. She had intended to keep things close to her chest from now on, especially around her parents, but... "I think he already knows you. He said he had a dream about the last cycle--of our family. That's how he knew who I was... but anyway, it doesn't matter." She may come to regret revealing that truth in time.
"Oh, you have no idea..." Velora responded quietly when Kana began speaking to her, grinning to herself. "Haha... that's an interesting thought." That was so hilarious to her. It almost felt like Kana remembered the last cycle, but that obviously wasn't the case. It was so very amusing though. "Oh, no problem. Have fun! Thank me again later~" She said that last part after she departed, assuming she knew what was going to happen in time. Turning to Cosmos then, she nodded, grinning. "Aww, poor baby." She teased, as if not having any battle was such a horror! "I knew you'd say that! Be ready--Althesa isn't going to be easy to handle. Underestimate her and you may end up defeated, even though you are more powerful. Needless to say, she's not signing until we force her." So it was going to be quite the battle. Turning to Krul, she gave her a little wave. "So long, Krul--we're going to subjugate some Forest Serenitians into signing. Though you could come too if you really wanted, since we're allies now." She grinned, almost feeling like Krul would want to see Althesa be broken. It was like she wanted to make the Forest Serenitians even MORE hostile by bringing not only another Reaper, but Krul of all people. But she doubted Krul would actualy want to join them, she seemed rather preoccupied being bored on her throne. Still, the choice was hers.

"..." She could detect the sarcasm in her voice.Obviously, Krul was never 'cute'! "So in other words, this whole quest of yours is really all about revenge against her, isn't it? " Well, she took after her in that sense, revenge was one of Krul's biggest traits. She never let things go. "...Ephraim.." She paused, thinking back a bit. That name...really did not sound familiar at all. "A king named Ephraim, huh? ...I can't say I remember anyone of that name. " Boy, this was so strange.. Even to her. "...So it appears. I don't know how. I repel everyone away, yet those two take a interest in me? " It didn't make sense, even when she tried to push Eskallion away with threats against his family, he still didn't go away. Was this Ephraim person the same way? ...She had a feeling, at some point she would find out what he was really like. "I..see..." Krul was just..speechless, for once in her life. She had taken in some information she didn't think was possible, and was having quite the time processing it.
Cosmos shrugged her shoulders, clearly she wasn't taking in just how powerful Althesa was. She knew, yet, still, her pride and over confidence in her own power was over the top, she didn't see anyone as better then herself. "Maybe you should have kept Aeon with us. Once Althesa is weakened, we can finish the job to ensure she will sign it by getting Aeon in on it. 'Kidnap' him, and in front of his dear mother, with a few threats against his life, she may feel herself forced to sign it. In one way, we can see the truth. If she signs it, we, and Aeon will know she does still care for him, despite what she did. I feel like she will, what do you think? ...Other then that, I don't see how we will get her to sign willingly. "

Camael

User Image

"Well, I believe in you, Camael. You can do it!"
A pulse of unholy power shot through the entire Reaper Realm.
"The round-ear has been fighting a lot harder lately... he says he wants to protect the royals. Guess it's good to see he's more motivated now, eh?"
"These so-called Reapers are a threat to the entire realm. You will all go and suppress this sickness pretending to be a race before it spreads."
"M-mother, why are you sending him?"
"He is a knight, as are the others. He will do his duty."
"Camael..."
Fists long at rest clenched suddenly.
"Please survive! Please come back to me!"

"Ahahaha! Like sheep to the slaughter!"
All Camael could feel was the blood of his knight-brethren mixed with his own as it covered his face, and he continued to bleed out. The knights beside him on the ground were gone, their last expression one of horror, regret, agony, sorrow... so much left unsaid. So much left to live for, all taken away.
And Camael was only fourteen on that day.

"What a sorry sight, seeing these knights reduced to a bloody mess."
"...what..." Camael could manage nothing more than that at the ghastly voice that echoed from above him.
"Oh? One is still alive. And you can hear me? Hmm... and how might that be, I wonder? I don't suppose you could answer, even if you knew." The horrifically pleasant voice paused momentarily. "Weaker than most of your comrades, yet you're alive. How? Physically weaker, at least."
"...A...the...na..." Even now, Camael's thoughts only went to the girl who had helped him. The young girl he didn't know to be the princess of the kingdom he called home. If he couldn't stop the Reapers, what would become of the Forest Kingdom? What would become of Athena? His only friend... ... ... ......
"Such an intensely burning desire. The king who sealed my body also wanted to protect someone. Still, that was so long ago I hardly remember any of it any longer... If you want to protect, you must survive. I can offer you survival. I can extend your suffering. And oh, how you WILL suffer. Let my soul find a home in your body, and as long as our lives are linked, you'll live. You may wish you could die, but you'll live. And you'll have a portion of my power. I'll see the world through true eyes once again, and you'll have the power to protect. Tell me, mortal--will you accept the pact of the Demon God?"
Even in his state, Camael understood that the being he conversed with wasn't any sort of holy being. He wasn't some savior come down to offer him salvation, nor was he a warrior spirit come to restore his strength. This was... an evil. An evil so horrific that the mere presence of his formless soul was oppressive. And yet, he offered power. He offered survival. He offered a way to save Athena.
And so, the pact was formed.
A bloodcurdling scream escaped his dying lips as the demon's soul grafted itself to his, sending fire through his bloodstream and burning his insides with unholy hellfire. The pain was unimaginably excruciating, and yet all Camael could think about was the power that accompanied the agony. This unholy power that swelled from him like an endless abyss. And in this horrible suffering that was thrust upon him, he felt revitalized.

"Oh look, that little shrimp isn't dead. Were you pulling your punches, Thad? Hehehee... I'll finish him, you can just watch, pretty boy."
As the Reaper approached him, Camael turned his wide, frenzied gaze upon her, and it was enough to stop her in her tracks momentarily. And as his blood surged into an inferno, that inferno manifested itself as his fiery blood shot out from his veins and coated her, encasing her in horrific hellfire which seared her into ashes, but not in any quick way. She suffered, just as his knight-brethren had. Just as he had. Just as he did. Forcing himself up to his feet, Camael let out a low, demonic screech as the whites of his eyes blazed in literal hellfire. Summoning an unfamiliar blade that yet felt perfect in his hand, the blade blazed with unholy flame which he used to carve through the horrified Reapers that had seen what transpired.
Words could not describe the agony he felt as he continued to slam his feet down onto the ground in slow, almost mechanical steps, as though he had to teach himself once again how to walk--and yet he pressed on. As Reapers would near him, they wouldn't even get a chance to attack before a barrier of flame jettisoned out of him and engulfed them in a searing blaze which coated their skin and clung to them like hellish glue until they died in pure, mindless agony.
The Reapers around this unfamiliar kingdom's castle had killed nearly every knight and royal and had occupied the castle, and every single one in that castle was hunted and exterminated in acts of utter violent brutality. By the time their queen--Krul--had finally disengaged from her battle to return and deal with this situation, the entire castle was covered in flames, Reaper blood coated the walls, ceilings, and floors, and the only thing still standing was a red-haired fourteen-year-old knight with a grotesque demonic aura hanging over him like a miasma.
Their battle lasted hours, but at its end, Camael's back finally met the floor beneath him, and he felt the queen's boot press against him to keep him firmly in place beneath her. At last, Camael was defeated.
And yet, though Krul had won the battle, she lost the war she had begun against Serenity--this tiny window of an opening Camael had created by bringing Krul's attention to him was enough to allow the Great Rulers to convene and cast a massive spell to send this entire kingdom into the Void--this pocket of the Void which would come to be known as the Reapers' Realm.
Yet, none of this was known to Camael. The last thing in his vision was looking up in defeat at the victorious Reaper Queen above him, until he lost consciousness.
That was four years ago.

If Krul had tried to kill him in his unconsciousness, no matter what she tried, he would not die. He could not die. Not as long as that demon's soul was linked to his, and the pact was sustained. Eventually, she would come to seal him away, likely assuming if he were to awaken, it may very well spell the end for nearly all the Reapers in the castle as it had in the past.
And now...

"Please survive!"
As yet another oppressive demonic pulse shot through the realm, and another, in quick succession...
"Please come back to me!"
The time had come, and his eyes shot open for the first time in four long comatose years.
"I see you're awake now." There came that pleasant yet horrific voice that had haunted his nightmares for years now. "It's been long enough."
"...Where..." Camael placed his hands against the confined space he was sealed in, giving it a futile push. His body felt different. "Where is Athena?"
"You're in a dark confined space, and your first question is about her? I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. You wouldn't have survived all that if your will to protect her wasn't so strong. I don't know where Athena is. But if you want to find her, you're going to have to escape this... box."
"...How?"
"Harness my power again."
"..." He knew that's what was going to be said. Yet he longed for another solution--one that wouldn't... scar him so deeply. Even now, four years later, after awakening from a comatose state, all he could remember was the torturous agony of harnessing the demonic powers now housed within his body. Yet, he had to escape. And... so...
"....RrrrrrrRRGghhhhAAAAA!!!" The blood in his veins boiling with the searing hellfire was the first sensation to bring him agony, just as he remembered. His felt as though they were being melted in a slow, horrific way, but he harnessed this ungodly power and rip through the prison that kept him sealed. Stumbling forward and down to his hands and knees, his wide eyes raised to two Reapers who looked horrified. He stepped forward aggressively, grabbing one and ripping their skull clean off their shoulders and throwing it to the floor. He turned to the other, the blood in his veins flaring in intense flames as the hellfire manifested and engulfed the Reaper in agonizing pain and death. Camael let out a sharp, bloodcurdling scream as the horrific sensation overcame him once again--this pure agony inside his own body.

"Good, good. You're adjusting to the feeling. You performed better than I expected four years ago. I think now that I'm acclimatized, and you're familiar, you won't fall into a comatose state this time the queen defeats you." The demon housed in his body didn't seem to have any faith he would be able to overcome Krul if they were to fight again. And likely for good reason--he couldn't defeat her before, and he hadn't improved since, given he had been comatose the entire time. Krul, meanwhile, was likely even more powerful if anything.

There were many things she suspected Krul of, but hiding away and 'sealing' something away of this magnitude of evil wasn't one she thought possible, in fact, it was darn right stupid of her. The power radiating from him was unbelievably strong, and even surpassed Krul's own, if she was to say so herself. Viola didn't show a lot of fear, even in some more intense battles she had taken part in in the past, but this? She had no intention of getting close to THAT. In fact, she was so worried she would send out a mental warning to any and all remaining Reapers in the realm. Bad or good, she didn't exactly want to see them slaughtered..even if maybe some of them deserved it, she wasn't like Krul.
Turning away, Viola disappeared from the area, where she would return next to a now alarmed Krul. "..I would ask what you thought you were doing, but it's a bit late for that, isn't it? Who is he, and why is he so strong? " Years of captivity, even in a comatose state, could build up some really great power, but this was much more then that. Whatever the story was, she knew he was to much for them to handle in the state he was in. "We need to leave.."
"You will fight with me.." Krul responded calmly, she seemed destined to make bad choices. To not leave when she had the chance....she was the only one to know just how powerful he was. " And anyone who decides to leave, after I've beaten him, i'll hunt each and everyone of them down and kill them myself..That includes you.." "...WHAT?! ...ugh...It's a death sentence if we go against that kind of power. I've never felt anyone so unholy..Krul, don't be stupid! You didn't see his eyes...or what he did to the others! We WONT survive! " "I will.." She was so thoughtful to her people.
"F-Fine...but I don't plan to die today, or anytime soon.." She muttered something under her breath, a little something Krul probably didn't know about the fun-loving Viola, she actually was a bit smarter then she looked. She knew they would face many kinds of enemies, and she wanted to be sure she was ready for whatever came her way, even going as far as learning other forms of magic. Light magic, dark magic, she knew all kinds. Today was going to be a much lighter magic, if she had any chance of winning against the evil that may show soon..Even if she didn't want to fight him, clearly, she had no real choice in the matter with Krul's orders.
The same magic she would be using, was also the magic that would envelope her in a soft, violet colored light energy, and her body was covered in that light, while visibility was at a zero for anyone there, her clothing would change rather drastically, as most of her appearance did. Her hair even seeming to become much longer. She definitely knew some strange magic! If she survived this, maybe for once, she would be the one laughing? After all the teases she got from the other Reapers of her...choices in battle and especially clothing, maybe this time they would learn there was a much bigger reason for her unique and often silly actions...

Camael

User Image

As another Reaper collapsed backwards, casting a terrified gaze up at him, Camael stared down in enraged pain at the Reaper. But instead of finishing them, he grunted, stepping back.
"Hesitation? Interesting."
They aren't "Nghh!" It was hard to even form a clear thought with this agony rushing through his entire body. A threat. I don't have to- "Gaahhgk!" The pain continued to flare in intensity randomly as the horrific hellfire continued to scorch his insides. The Reaper took the moment of hesitation and got to their feet, running away in terror.
"According to your queen, the Reapers want to enslave or kill your kind, don't they? Or... Athena's kind, at any rate. If you let them go, they might target her."
"..." His eyes widened in pain. "AAAAGH!!" Fire shot out from his form and engulfed the fleeing Reaper, and they shared his screams for the remaining, agonizing moments of their life.
When Camael came to enter the room that Krul and Viola were in, he carried a severed head by the hair in his off-hand as he dragged his sword against the ground behind him. As his blazing eyes fell upon Krul, he dropped the head. "You- RRRGH...! All your fault! This hell! All of it!" Regardless of any other circumstances, his life as he knew it was ended because of the actions of that woman. And the hell he experienced, while it was due to him accepting a pact, wouldn't have happened if not for her. "You're nOT- GAAAAHGK, NOT GOING TO HURT HER!" His blood flared, and the two would have a short time to dodge the pillar of hellfire that threatened to engulf them. Viola had the misfortune of being in the room, but his primary target was Krul. Gripping his sword with both hands now, he sprinted towards her, delivering a wide slash to cleave through both of them and knock them back, after which he'd continue to assault Krul, hellfire coating his blade as he slashed once, then delivered a harsh headbutt, then continuing to slash in a merciless frenzy of blazing hellfire.

"Hmph..." This was one Queen who really didn't show an ounce of concern for her own kind, and as her eyes fell upon the severed head in the hands of the familiar face her only reaction was the faintest of a smirk at her lips. It didn't matter to her, with each Reaper that lost their lives, they would quickly be replaced, and so long as she existed in this world, the Reaper's would never fully vanish. "You brought that hell to yourself, I'm not the one who invited a demon inside your body. And all for nothing, I might add.." All for nothing, because she didn't intend to lose this time ether. He would be put back into his little box, and cast away further, to a place he could never escape from...

The time for talking wasn't exactly now, as the heat raised instantly around them, she knew this move fortunately, and was quick to phase out and in a few feet away, only when she reappeared there,, her hand would strike forward, sending a pulse of intense energy to rip through the air directly for Camael as he was rushing for her, the force behind the energy should have sent him back with enough to slam him into the nearby wall with a very painful impact, only to add to his already horribly pained body. Had that worked, her hand raised again, razor tipped nails seeming to grow slightly outward as her hand struck in a slash motion toward him, blades of dark energy flew for his body, intending to slash him up pretty good, possibly impale him.

This was an opportunity for Viola, too. Had he remained there long enough, he might notice the suddenly large, glowing magic sigil under his feet. The longer he remained in it, the more he would feel as though something was trying to nullify and seal the demonic presence within his body, even cast it out if possible, but it wasn't so easy and it was obvious just how strenuous it was to maintain the spell, all the while she tried to connect to his own mind.."You don't need to do this, who ever you are, this isn't what YOU would do! " So, she didn't know him, at all, she really didn't know what the real person there would want, but he hoped her guess was right. She hoped there was a good person somewhere in all that rage and pain. "I can help you...if you just let go of that evil you let in! I can help you! " She tried to say into his mind..

Camael

User Image

Krul's first attack landed exactly as she had intended, sending Camael backwards and slamming against the wall, though as the blades of dark energy shot out towards him, a barrier of flame erupted from his body with a shriek of pain which disintegrated the blades in the air. "RRRGHH... AAAHG!!" As Viola's spell tried to contain the demonic soul within him, that very soul fought against this intended purification, and the result was... unexpected.
With one last scream, Camael's skin turned blood red for several moments along with horns growing from his head, and his eyes turning into pure fire. But a moment later, the horns receded, his eyes returned to normal, and his skin returned to its fair color--but what was left there was a different individual. Still Camael, yet different in both aesthetic and demeanor. The individual seemed confused in his change, but as he looked down to his hands--his blade having vanished at the start of this transformation--he seemed to gain some insight. "How strange." Camael's voice was not alone now--another pleasantly horrific demonic voice overlaid his own. "Our souls are fused. We are one. We wonder how long this will last." The writhing, suffering red-haired man was, at least for the moment, replaced with a much more calm white-haired demon. It was more accurate to say that the human and the demon had become one, as Camael had assumed his Demon Form--an ability hitherto undreamt of.
"One half of our soul has longed to control a body for eons. We must take the opportunity to thank you for pushing us..." He glanced at Viola. "You can be spared, if you stop fighting us." Holding out his hand, the demon summoned a new, crimson blade to his hand. "Our other half finds relief. The burning is subsided, as long as we are one." The blood no longer boiled, because he had completely assumed this Demon Form, and his blood was completely replaced now with hellfire. No more suffering, because the blood and hellfire weren't meant to occupy the veins together at once. Now, he was perfect. Exactly as nature intended...
What Krul and Viola may notice was this was not simply an aesthetic change. While his suffering had subsided and his appearance had changed, his power had not had some sort of drastic spike as one may have assumed with a "new form." Instead, every few moments that went by that he remained in this form, his power would increase. Slowly, but surely, his power would continue to rise, and if he wasn't stopped, it would rise to a meteoric level.
Raising his crimson blade to his wrist, he sliced, hellfire erupting from his wrist and engulfing the blade and binding to it. "Let's try this again, Queen Reaper." They did not even know her name, and very likely she didn't know his, either. Slicing his blade upwards through the ground, a geyser of hellfire shot up several times in increasingly close proximity to Krul, until one would erupt right beneath her and engulf her had she not had the sense to move. Dashing forward in a low flight over the ground, Camael would follow-up with a precise vertical slice, immediately afterwards raising his blade--which morphed into the form of a mace--and going to bash her over the skull with it. He would then raise it again, the mace morphing into a large hammer which he intended to use to slam down against her and put her in the floor. Every strike she didn't avoid would torture her with the searing hellfire affixed to the morphing weapon, so this was a battle she may want to be particularly careful in.

It really was only for a moment Krul could enjoy that second of getting something done right, so early on into the fight, she did happen to remember just how difficult he was those years before. He was no easy foe, something Krul always found difficult to admit to.
Then Viola made her greatest mistake, a mistake that might be good for Camael, but not so good for Krul. Her attempt to make things better certainly didn't go as she hoped. "What...did you do..." She didn't sound to happy.
"......" Viola kind of just stood there, her mouth hung open in disbelief. That's not what she wanted to do, was it? More interestingly was instead of holding a grudge against Viola's actions, she was...thanked? That couldn't be a good sign at all. "I..um, well, I really don't know! " She rubbed the back of her neck nervously. "..Ah-hahaa...! Oh god..." This was so crazy, even to her. She was offered a escape, but at the same time, there was no really escaping this, had Krul survived, and Viola ran away against Krul's wishes, she would be hunted, just as she warned her moments ago.Though, when she thought about it, Krul would probably kill her quickly, if she stayed here and fought alongside Krul, she might end up with a slow, very painful death. What was the best choice here? "...I'll take hunted over your fiery death..." Well, that's what it seemed she would experience with all that hellfire going on. She really didn't want that experience! '...Lose well, Krul! Bye-bye!" An interesting last few words to her Queen, she would show her the respect she never showed her in all these years. Strange how good that actually felt, despite knowing she would be on her kill list soon. "Don't lose! " Was her last words to 'Chamael' before she would make a hasty retreat, vanishing from the reaper realm.

"Tch...I'll see you again. " Krul muttered under her breath, she wasn't going to lose. Turning her attention back to the white-haired demon, she would assume her ready stance. "I beat you both once, I'll do it again. "
Krul was no ordinary being, that much was obvious, and because of that she was rather gifted in speed, so much that when she moved, it was quicker then the eye could pick up, as if she teleported each time, but really, she was just that fast. That speed would keep her from falling victim to the geyser of hellfire so eager to burn her alive. Then came his next move, which Krul would raise her hand, her making a sort of grasping motion with it as though she were grabbing something in midair, it was at that moment he would feel a unseen force take hold of his wrist that held the mace, stopping it before it could even come close to her. Her other hand gripping around his neck with terrifying strength, his power may be slowly growing, but it would not help the body he was controlling, lack of oxygen to that body could render him back to unconsciousness, at least long enough for her to perform yet another seal, though she doubted it would be so easy.
