"Interesting, hmm?"

Daniel seemed distracted. Sure, he was listening, but he didn't expect Eripse to come back into his office for quite some time now. Most likely, he expected her to start getting ready to head out soon. As he continued watching the news, he shrugged in response.

"Well I don't know about that, but I do know that he's out on business. Been that way for... two days now. Don't be anywhere near surprised if it takes him a week to come back, though I doubt it'll be that long."

Eripse closed her eyes quietly after getting the answer to her question, thinking... About the mission, of course...

"You said to go to Slatsky with whatever I get, as well as you. Is Slatsky trustworthy?"

Fingers weave silk silently, doing it with a skill that might be slightly obscene for how new the form is... But, she does learn the knowledge of the creature when she takes it's form... She'd flown from day one, with Arjjek.

"...She is if we get to her first. Which is why your first objective will be to make contact with the President and make nice. Think you can do that?"

It would be harder than usual, given Eripse's lack of actual diplomacy. But until there was someone more qualified, she would have to make an attempt at it. Barring that, she would have to surreptitiously work with the negotiations team that was apparently being sent to CA in order to find out what she could.

If there were any signs of a war machine, Eripse would still have to speak to Slatsky and Daniel about the situation, and eventually Evan himself. He'd show up soon, hopefully.

Eripse smirked, smoothly disconnecting the web, a nice long sheet of it, something along the band of Ace-wrap.

"Pretty words are made about warriors, by Bards, in a tavern miles from the real action." She shrugs. "I could try. I can't promise anything. They said she's making negotiations. You sending me in with them, eh?"

Daniel nodded, turning towards Eripse. It was nice to have a swivel chair.

"That's the plan. That is, if you can't play nice with Natalie. She has a stance against the undead up in the Northernlands- that's a good thing, but opinions can be changed. It'll be Evan's job once he gets back to keep her on that line- for the moment, you'll introduce yourself and make an attempt to get along.

"Barring that, you are to infiltrate the group of negotiators that will be sent, find out what you can about Central Axis, and report to both parties of what you find. Get all that?"

Eripse hmmmmed, quietly. "Keep big-lady in her right mind, Ninja my way into CA, See what they have hiding, report back.... Not alot of fun. Sure you don't want me to get violent with anyone or anything? Somebody's headquarters, Kill someone important?"

Eripse looked like a kid who was told he was going to a candyshop, and was driven to the dentist.

"Affirmative. Avoid contact unless absolutely necessary. We don't entirely want to start a war with these people- just prevent one from breaking out. Do anything to mess this up, and our contract is null and void."

Which meant that she not only wouldn't get paid... she wouldn't exist. Matters of clandestine activity were not entirely good if they went out of control. Her records would be erased from the RI database, and they would disavow her actions. All of them.

"You understand all this?"

Eripse frowned, but nodded quietly.

"Red would be better suited at this, you know. A bad choice to send me instead. But whatever. I'll try." Displeasure carved her voice, obviously at admitting her Working Opponent was better than her, but it was truth. Eripse was a diversion queen. Not an abassador. She blew things up, and brought attention away from the real show...

"What the hell exactly am I getting out of this, eh? I still haven't seen my pay from my last mission."

"I have noticed that Red is not entirely the type for secretive activity. She likes sneaking around less than you do, come to think of it, whether she is more qualified for it or not. But seeing as we have no one more experienced on our staff... you're up to bat.

"As for the reward for the last job, I believe an upgrade is in order. You just haven't told me what you wanted yet."

This was truth. She did indeed have a reward coming- she just hadn't named it yet.

Eripse raised a brow...

"Wait, so I empty the dishwasher and all I have to do is ask daddy for a new toy and I get it?"

An amusement analogy, but a fitting one.

Daniel had an annoyed look on his face. She was still immature to a rather irritaitng point, new body notwithstanding. "Just tell me what you want, already. Make sure it's not something outside of our scope, because I won't take any rediculous requests."

Which he fully expected from someone like Eripse.

Eripse mused for a moment, smiling at the look of annoyance on his face. She shrugs, rose, and slid the chair into the desk quietly, correcting what she'd used.

"Surprise me. I think the quicker I get to El Presidentay, the sooner we're both content."

She'd yawn, walk out of his office, quietly closing the door behind herself, and head out of the front, pausing only to pick up a messenger bag with the stuff pertaining to her mission, stretching her limbs quietly as she did so. Heading through the city as Gareth had, she would enter a building in silence.

Kicking down a door quietly, she'd once again fetch one of those small, round marbles. She'd give this thing a squeeze, exploding the crystal. With the rain of crystaline dust, the woman was gone.

Surprise me, she says. Irritating little...

He reserved the rest of that comment for another time. Right now, he had a Captain to call. He had long since gotten a message from R&D that R.I.O.T. five had retrieved their new equipment. Good. Now it needed to be field tested. Frankly, mission time was not for a few hours, so the team should be allowed to play around with their toys until it was time to deploy.

With that, he picked up his cell phone and dialed Adaire Redra's number.

Irritating.......

Her phone rang as Adaire laid sprawled across the bed in her PJ's, her left arm hanging over the side as drooled over the comforter, as she had never bothered to get under the covers, just fell on her stomach and nodded off. She picked up the phone, her fingers a little sleep numb.

"HELLO?!" she asked tiredly, not sounding all too friendly and half asleep..

Daniel was calm. Too calm for Red's liking, but there you go.

"I have a feeling this is a bad time... Should I call at a different time, perhaps?"

He sounded amused at her tone. As if a child had been throwing a tantrum at him for no reason other than to throw one. "It sounds like I should most certainly call back later. But let me leave this message, if one could call it that: You are cordially invited to head down to the office and field test your new gear. Think of it as a sort of training; a chance to play with your new toys outside of mission parameters. Seeing as you were asleep though, if my guess is correct, I'll leave you alone for the moment. Have a nice rest."
