That's why I said the test is a good guideline, but there are exceptions to it. It helps rein in people that do everything nuts, though.
And as for appearances, describing someone else's character as 'flawless' - which we're getting into nitpicking territory now over this rule - because that is their perception of them is fine.
Describing your own character, like Waffles stated, as "so hot that men/women drop to their knees in love at the sight of them" is ridiculous.
It's all about having self-control when making a character and stretching the boundaries of your imagination. Not every character is a drop-dead gorgeous model that is completely perfect with a perfect figure and perfect face.
Just use common sense.

I have a character I use occasionally that is intentionally disgusting. He reeks of nastiness because he is made of refuse. He is clammy and sticky to the touch and is probably sporting decaying/rotting matter. I detail all of that to try to find someone that can overlook the nastiness, that will reject all the perfect, flawless other characters, that could love/appreciate him all the same... and it always ends up being a child character who chooses him. It's definitely fun to be a gross character, and definitely interesting how things turn out when doing so...

I like the sound of him! That is why I love zombie/gore roleplays. All the decay and utterly disgusting stories. So amazing. emotion_kirakira I just have to be careful not to go overboard with the nasty details. rofl I've rp'd as zombies, a golem, a child warlock, a martian princess that pilots a mecha in order to 'free' the mars populace from earth's clutches in an all out war, and then my characters here. Usually I'm in large plots. Grand scale.

Wow. Grand-scale plots are unusual these days... or perhaps I just don't know where to look. I also love monster/horror RPs. Tying my love for complex plots and horror RPs together, I don't know how many times I tried to launch my own crazy complex horror plot but no one was freakin' interested. I guess people like us are an endangered species. emo

ha! Besides this guild and the cb, I'm usually in my own. Since I think Barton and the Com stink when it comes to a steady roleplay with a small group of people. We are a dying breed. gonk

I would have done this during the height of the conversation, but work and the terrible Wi-Fi connection kind of stopped me from going on my soapbox…
I hate going all stereo-typical (really I do) but it’s that whole “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” kind of thing when it comes to appearances. Sure, you can say that someone is beautiful/handsome; but you may not be attracted to them. In this case, someone could be playing a beautiful woman; but their story may not interest you…or their personality could be a “meh” kind of thing to you. Not everyone has the same taste as you think to have.
EVERYONE has flaws—be it physically, emotionally, or whatever else in these worlds that have a “ally” as its suffix. What could be flawless in one department could be an entire mess to another. Let’s take the movie Penelope for example…or better yet the Twilight Zone episode “Eye of the Beholder”…as wonderful examples. What seemed to be perfectly normal to them could be something hideous to another.
Just remember: No one is perfect. If they are in their looks, you are bound to know something else is effed up in their life.
On a different note!Just wanted to give you two—and anyone else in the future—the forest in the public gardens is not really big. About a ten minute walk between the gardens and Renne’s estate and approximately twenty minutes long. …Hence calling it “Not-So-Big Forest” for a reason. ^_^;; You two don’t need to fix anything, but keep this in mind for future posts. Yes! I would hope so. I'm sorry, I'm just struggling with him and I feel that forcing out the slop I've been serving is a disservice to you so I am reluctant to post for him. In hindsight, a blind guy doesn't really have much to include in his post, you know? I really should have through that one out. I know procrastinating doesn't make anything better, but... I just keep hoping to be struck by the lightning of inspiration or something. I'll give it a shot to get a post out today and see what happens. But if I still have trouble keeping up with the post minimum I might just have to delete him...

Aw, crap. I thought they had a lot of potential, but if you end up deleting him, I understand how it is to have a character you can't work with. Hopefully we'll be able to do another pairing up, though, I do enjoy writing with you. ^^
