Adam merely shrugged. "Those guys have always had it out for me, even when I was working there." he said. "When I started all they did was pin the blame on me when they did something wrong. It's cause I wasn't part of the family in their family business, so I was an outsider to them. I guess. But to blame me for arson is complete bull crap. They're lousy idiots, they must've burnt it to the ground themselves!" he guffawed, clearly outraged by the charge.

Adam merely gazed at Sawyer. "I've got no idea where to start with law. I figure no matter who I bring in, no one's going to get me out of this mess this time." he sighed while scratching the back of his head. He looked at the lawyer again when asked about his dad. "He was my one call. 'S not very happy to hear about this. Why?"

By the time Cecil and Sawyer returned from their adventure, Sue was waiting impatiently in front of one of the desks. This was around the time he investigated with his precious partner, and for Cecil to be late... that wasn't like him. He turned when he heard some voices and perked up at the sight. "Cecil! There you - Oh." He paused to see Sawyer at the cop's side. His expression tensed. "What exactly... were you two doing?"

"YOU'RE UNDER ARREST!"

Sue gave Sawyer a curious, but suspicious, look. "Right... Well it just so happens that I have other cases besides the ones we just did battle in." he said then smiled down at Cecil. "We need to go over the evidence."
"Your case is in a week and a half." commented Cecil.
"I like to have as much work as possible done as soon as I can." replied Sue. He then looked up and gave Sawyer a grin. "Such a shame you won't be in this coming case, dear defender. Now shoo-shoo. We've got important work to do."

"YOU'RE UNDER ARREST!"

Sue looked at Sawyer and scoffed at him. "I would hardly call eating "important business"." he drawled then smiled back down at Cecil. "Besides, if he's that hungry then he can eat in my office while we go through the court cases."
"I actually have to help Mr. Loupohl with an upcoming case." Cecil intervened while sneaking out of the prosecutor's grip.
"Wh-What?" blinked Sue, his hand still believing that he was holding him.
Cecil nodded. "I need him for a case, and I need to fill him in on the details. Until then I've assigned Officer West to you."
Sue's eye twitched. "Wh-What?" he repeated then gasped when an arm swung around his shoulders.
"Hey! Let's go check out that evidence, eh?" winked Cameron before dragging away the numb prosecutor.
"Mr. Yuu comes around this time about three times a week." Cecil explained while watching the two fade away into the distance. "Whenever I don't want to be around him I get Officer West to distract him." He gave Sawyer an apologetic look. "I hope you don't mind being a distraction for the time being, either."

"YOU'RE UNDER ARREST!"

Cecil whined when the gravy was taken away from him. "Don't be a baby." he said while taking back the gravy. "I told you I'd drown you in work, didn't I? That means we'll have a lot of time to spend together." he said with a smirk.

Two weeks had passed since then. The lawyer and the officer spent most of that time together, whether it was for work or for friendly outings. Cecil found himself in a better mood during the times he was with Sawyer. Having someone he genuinely enjoyed spending time with did that.
Today Cecil was off at the courthouse for paperwork to change his last name. It had been something he had been wanting to do for a long time, but he'd either be missing paperwork or wouldn't have the time. Now that he did, he wouldn't be at the precinct for a while. Still knowing this, Sue Yuu stood there with his arms crossed and his expression stern. He wasn't waiting for Cecil, either.

"YOU'RE UNDER ARREST!"

Sue turned when he heard the noise and blinked as he realized who it was. "Ah! Defender! I have a question for you." he called out and quickly grabbed his arm to get his attention. All this time and he still didn't know the man's name, or didn't like saying it.
