"But you have no ... offensive magic, then?" Kyrie pressed. "Nothing to use to attack people?"
She was almost holding her breath, trying not to appear too fidgety as she waited for the answer.

"Hmmm.... no, I do have something to bind people, but it's an experimental rune array I had been working on," Miyuki replied.
She had stopped working on it because she knew it worked, it was just she never had a chance to test it in a combat situation. Using it on a dragon didn't quite count, though she had enforced the array's strength afterwards. She later thought it was a bit overkill, seeing as the likelihood of running into a dragon again was slim, but it made her feel better to know it was strong enough to at least give anyone a few minutes head start in running.
Seeing as she doubted there was anyway to enforce a rune array to stop dragon unless you were pumping obscene amounts of magic into it.
"I mean.. it works, it's just, I've never used it in a real situation it was made for before, never had to," Miyuki added.

Kyrie nodded again, slower this time. For a while she was silent, lost in thought - or so it appeared.
She was spared the need to answer when Elspeth entered the room, an empty basket on one hip, humming softly to herself.
"Oh!" she exclaimed upon seeing the two women on the couch. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt your conversation!"

"Not at all!" Miyuki assured Elspeth, "Kyrie was just asking me a few questions that's all."
And it seemed like Kyrie had something to think about. She wondered if the older woman was worried about defending, and she wondered if she should mention about the Pokemon. Kyrie knew about Zeus, and Ponydash was pretty obvious, but they never talked about Eon or Ai.

"Ah, I see," the Earth Elven woman smiled warmly. "I hope you ladies are hungry, I'm going to be preparing some breakfast soon."
"Thank you," Kyrie said quickly, rising from her seat and picking up her portfolio. "I'm going to go for a run, but if you would be so kind as to set something aside for me when I return, I would be very grateful."
She needed to clear her head, work through the information that she had been given. This would be her first chance in a long time to do just that.

"Do you need any help?" Miyuki asked since she wasn't going to go anywhere anytime soon.
Also, no one else was up, it was one of the few downfalls of being one of the first people up.

Elspeth wasn't at all put off by Kyrie's request, and she positively beamed when Miyuki offered to help out.
"I'd be delighted!" she exclaimed sincerely. "I must admit, I'm not quite used to cooking for so many."
She set the basket down in a corner as Kyrie headed outside for her run, and she tilted her head slightly upwards, listening to something.
"Sounds like someone else will be joining us shortly," she commented as she began to collect ingredients for the meal.

"Hmm?" Miyuki's ears twitched, there did seem to be some shuffling upstairs, but she couldn't tell who that might be.
It could be anyone really, it wasn't so early anymore.
"I wonder who..."

"Well, we'll soon find out," Elspeth smiled. "Here, come help me measure out ingredients. We'll be having flatcakes for breakfast today."
She showed Miyuki the ingredients and gave her the measuring tools, and just as she was instructing Miyuki on how much flour to measure out, Lancaeriel joined them.
"Good morning," the pale woman greeted them softly, smiling warmly. "It's a beautiful day, is it not?"
"Indeed," Elspeth replied with a cheerful smile. "It's almost a pity so many of your group are sleeping it away."
Lancaeriel laughed. "Well, I'm sure once the food is being cooked, the aroma will awaken them." She looked around. "Only the two of us awake then, Miyuki?"

Miyuki's eyes lit up at the mention of flatcakes, she imagined they were like pancakes, and probably just as yummy.
"Yea," she nodded at Lancaeriel's question, "It's still pretty early."
Though her teacher was probably right, the smell will wake everyone up, especially Kaito.

"Didn't Kyrie just go for a run?" Elspeth reminded Miyuki with a bemused grin.
Lancaeriel giggled. "Perhaps it's still too early for much thinking," she teased her student. "Though I'd imagine," she added, watching as the two worked, "that we will soon have to wake everyone anyways for breakfast."
She had a feeling the group would not be allowed to sleep too late.

"Probably...." Miyuku blushed.
Walking and eating didn't require much thinking, no wonder why she didn't know what to do with herself. Besides the fact that traveling threw whatever little routine existed out the window. Walking didn't count as a routine.
"If breakfast doesn't wake them up first," Miyuki murmured, "We're having flatcakes, which i think are the same pancakes that Kaito likes all the time."

"That sounds good," Lancaeriel murmured. "Do you need help?"
"If you'd like," Elspeth agreed. "Duran and Alaric are out hunting already, so it will just be your group and myself. Though I'm not sure when Kyrie will be back, she said she was going for a run and I don't know how long that will be ..."
She eyed the other two, wondering if they knew the answer.

Miyuki shook her head, she kind of knew what Elspeth was asking.
"I don't know her well enough to know the answer to that..."
And Miyuki sort of wondered if it had to do with what Kyrie had asked her. She sort of understood why Kyrie wanted to know if she had any offensive magic, but there was something else and she didn't know what it was.

Lancaeriel looked at Miyuki curiously. "Did she go for runs while you were staying with her in Caras Galadhon?" she asked.
She had no way of knowing that Kyrie's runs had been a daily occurrence and that they had usually lasted an hour or two, but she also had no way of knowing that this run was unlike her usual runs either.
