The tree crashing to the earth was just enough to give the elephant the upper-hand, even if his ploy had claimed no direct victims. Like the log before it, he rose up and crushed it to the ground, sending a shower of splinters and leaves in his wake. His scream of rage mingled with a wail of pain as the luckier few landed strikes on his unprotected belly.
Desperate to get them out from underneath him, he started to thrash about erratically.
Finally recovered from the strike, Veru circled around the fallen tree, passing An and Hel as they did their best to shield the unconscious cheetah from the blows. He hoped the little cub was there as well. A quick scan of the immediate chaos revealed no sign of her.
They needed to take the beast down, and fast. A better thinker than he was an attacker, he remembered the hastily made plan before the initial assault. "Fall back!" he called. He had to stop himself from calling out the entire plan. The elephant likely could understand them. "Back to the trail!"
It was time to see if the mud could slow the beast down long enough to topple him.
arrow Try to get the elephant's attention and lead him back into the muddy trail!
The next five people, roll 1-10. If the roll reaches 15, the elephant will follow the runners.
If it falls under, the elephant notices the injured hiding in the bushes and makes a charge for them.

He avoided the elephants thrashing, by a margin. Weaving in and out of the giant leathery feet he darted off to one side. He yelled to the others in hope that they could lead it back to the muddy trail. It had been one of the original ideas that they hoped would work in their favour. After he had attacked the elephant he hoped it would follow its attackers out of frustration more than anything, and ran back to the muddy trail quickly, but made it clear enough for the beast to see him.
((Sorry, If the previously injured can't roll, please disregard this! <3 ))

Hearing the call of the brains of the operation, Rimma followed suit. She leapt to give the ears one last, deep slice, then turned and let herself be seen by those tiny, wild eyes. "Yeah, c'mon, big ugly," she taunted, backing slowly towards the trail, then turning and breaking into a dead run. She'd have been tempted to just run slowly, had she not seen how much ground those massive legs could cover in a few short strides, and how quickly it could take them. No, it was time to put on as much speed as the light-boned lioness could manage. Here's hoping things would work as planned!

He was under an angry elephant. He was UNDER an angry ELEPHANT. They wanted him to run away? Suuuure. Anything to get out from under the violently thrasing beast. He darted between the thing's back legs, with no real intent of drawing it's attention- until it stepped on his tail. He swung around hissing, slashing at it's knee almost automatically.
Oh.
"Er... Ahaha, my tail, sorry, you see- RUN AWAY, RIGHT." He spun around, injured appendage tucked between his legs as he scampered for the trail - the trail out of there.
((LOL OH /reads sorry I had rolled to dodge the tree and ended up under the elephant! I posted at the bottom of the last page though haha I hope this is ok))

Lani’s jaws just grazed the elephant’s unprotected flesh, and she topped back to the earth, catching herself quickly. A glance around the area revealed many shaken or injured. This wasn’t right. This was bad. The head lion’s roared command caught her attention straight away, and although she had no remembered the plan, she thought falling back was as good as decision as any. She was fast. Perhaps she could help lead the elephant off before anyone else got injured.
Lani darted in and snapped at the beast’s feet before turning tail and racing down the trail, running as fast as her lithe legs would carry her. Her heat pounded and the greens of the jungle flashed across her eyes in a blur.

No sooner had the order been called out than Margulis took to the open ground, weaving back and forth around the debris as she made her way back down the path that would lead them to the mud. All they had to do now was hope that their plan worked, and that none of them got stuck in the process. She forced herself forward as the ground became softer, finally spinning around to face back toward the battleground as her paws began to sink into the muck. She needed to keep them moving, so as she held her breath she paced back and forth, watching for an opening to strike the beast down.

Bluu knew her limits. She was a cheetah - fast, agile, and fragile. She considered staying behind to look after the injured cheetah, but she wasn't a healer. Nor was she a coward. She streaked down the trail full speed, hoping the elephant would follow.
Ed'Garde bobbed on the branch he was standing on so that it shook and leaves and small branches fell on the enraged bull elephant. "Hey ugly!" He called before racing through the treetops besides the path.
Ndege almost called out as well as she heard Lani's yelp, but the only way she could help her friend was to tale down the elephant. She took a quick n** at the elephant's side before running down the path as fast as she could go.

Shari remembered the plan as Veru yelled back down the trail. She took off as fast as her feet would carry her. It was time to see how well the elephants footing was in the mud. Perhaps this would be his downfall!

The distraction worked. The elephant lost eye contact with the injured hiding in the brush, and turned swiftly upon the ones taunting him and biting at his heels. His trunk attempted to cleave another path between them, but since most of the attackers were trying to lure him away, he connected with none of them. Enraged at the lack of contact he began to stomp and swing. Revving up for another charge.
Once she sensed the beast was no longer planning to attack them, An gave a careful glance to the injured cheetah and the other two crouched with them. By now the elephant was charging, storming down the path. Crushing fallen trees as it went. An knew she had to follow. "Be careful," the blonde lioness whispered to Hel and Kimaji. Then, she bolted on after.
Up ahead, Veru found himself on the opposite side of the charge, running alongside the others. The ground wasn't exactly made for a straight run, and they didn't have the size advantage of just being able to crush whatever they wanted to run over. Veru found himself hurdling over the fallen trees and branches. Just a little bit closer...
Finally, they broke through the tree line and back into the muddy patch of earth. This, unfortunately, was where the plan had its one hitch. The mud slowed down the runners just as well, and there was no guarentee that it would do the same for the elpehant. Slopping around in the ankle deep mud, Veru did his best to get as far onto drier land as he could before the elephant reached them.
When he did, it was something like an explosion. The bull charged through a pair of sapplings, before stumbling into the mud. It wasn't enough to topple him, but it was enough to slow him. Furious, he trumpted and began to swing his head from side to side to catch any attackers.

It was plenty for Spaki to avoid getting hit by all the elephant's attacks. He wasn't abnormally slow for a lion, but being a bit more agile would definitely have come in handy at time like this; he mostly relied ons strength. Still, for most part he had managed to avoid damage, being bumped aside not too painfully once or twice, and not being hit by any of the trees or branches.
He ran off when the others went to take the beast to the mud. Mud was quite different than sand, it sucked you in rather than just giving way, and was far more slippery. For a larger lion like Spaki it definitely had a dramatically slowing effect, no matter how used he was to unsteady ground. But at least the elephant seemed to be suffering more.
Unfortunately, when he went in to attack, he made a mistake. He wasn't exactly sure what it had been, but it must have been a mistake, because otherwise he wouldn't have been struck. Next thing Spaki knew he was in the mud a few feet away from his target, his head ringing. At least the ground was softer here, and he hadn't been flung into a tree or anything. He growled loudly in frustration, and scrambled to regain his footing in the mud, preparing himself to try again. But being hit by an elephant wasn't something you just bounced back from in seconds! He managed to get up and paced to the side, deciding not to risk another ill-timed attack.
-
Kimaji felt largely useless here. She could only crouch, pathetically, next to the cheetah and watch as the world turned into fighting and crashing and flying as some were tossed like dolls. Admittedly, she was rather frozen in fear, and simply couldn't bring herself to move until the group had managed to distract the elephant and distance it from the cheetah and, consequently, herself. "This is an emergency." She told no one in particular, looking at the cheetah, then watching as the others got further and further.
"We need heeeelp..." She sniffed, and circled around to sit by the cheetah's head, nudging her and placing the root and feather down. "Can you hear me? You need to chew on this." She was thinking this cheetah wasn't in condition to be chewing anything, but it was worth a shot. She bit off a smaller piece of root and placed in near the injured cat's mouth. "You must be in a lot of pain and it'll help!" Maybe she should g call the healers, personally. But now Hel was off, too, and she didn't want to leave this cheetah alone.

Margulis skidded to a stop at the edge of the mud, just short of the safe zone it appeared. She let out a shriek as the elephant's assault struck her hard in the side and threw her face down into the muck. Wheezing she pulled herself up, her chest burning with each breath. She was covered now, Ngedere's mark completely obscured. This beast was unstoppable. Snarling she managed to get her footing again, the mud dropping off of her in clumps, and looked for the next opening to continue their attack.

Pam had failed his initial attacked but he had quickly followed after the others who were trying to distract the elephant. They got the beast‘s attention and led the creature to muddy ground so he supposed they had been successful. But tired muscles and aching ribs were not a good combination when one was trying to run, especially when you added the unsteady ground to the equation.
There were whelps, grunts and screams around him that told him that others had been caught by the elephant and Pam turned to face the beast right before he was thrown out of the way again. He rolled and slid through the mud and returned to his paws much quicker this time, though his gleaming white coat was now muddy brown from head to tail.

Saiorse bolted down the path, taunting and luring along side the others, a grin on her face as she saw their plan comming to fruition. The beast was bleeding, and beginning to tire. Perhaps it was that thought, or just her haughty nature that made her careless as she leaped.
She leaped, aiming for the beast's sholder, but as the lioness neared her target, a smooth curve of a tusk slammed into her side. Saiorse heard a sickening crack, something so much like the sound of a snapping twig, as the ivory hammered her ribs, sending the magenta lioness sprawling in the mud. She gasped, desperately trying to find her breath but there was no time. The stupid, raging beast was still stomping, swinging and crushing everything it could. Saiorse grited her teeth, her fur rising in a ridge along her back, not at all unlike a common house cat, as she scrambled, trying to get out of its reach. She was wounded, but not finished. The lioness roared at the edge of the fray, bombarding the elephant with sound much in the same way he had trumpeted at them. She might be down, for the moment, but she'd be damned if couldn't at least make a nusance of herself.

As the elephant went on a rampage, Mura glanced back to see where she was compared to him. That was a mistake. She stumbled and an instant later she felt herself getting struck with the trunk. Her body fell to the side. The whole right side of her body ached. She just allowed herself to lay down, at least for a moment. In a little bit she would try and help again. Hopefully being more useful this time.

With the bull now slowed Shari moved in closer to attack. She had her teeth bared and her claws ready to sink into that cranky bull. As she moved into his reach she was hit hard by his lone tusk and went flying. She landed in the mud and skidded several feet.
