"What if you have some connection to Louis? Oh! How cool would it be if you knew each other? Like in a past time, a past life!" she chimed, unknowing of what she was saying truly. "Stuff like that is interesting," she said, looking down at the sidewalk.

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Alexander laughed. "Brother, eh?" He said, brushing her hair away from her face. "Well, if you-" He cut himself off then, listening. "Oh tiarna maith, I'd heard rumors..." he said as the sound of hooves became apparent. As they drew near, Alexander pushed Danny behind him. In a moment, a large black horse leaped from the treeline and landed before them, prancing. The horses eyes glowed with blue fire and on its back sat a ghastly rider. He was dressed in black robes that seemed to swirl even as he was still. In the hand that held his steeds reigns he held a whip, though it was no ordinary whip but instead one made of what seemed to be human spines. However, the most alarming thing about the rider was the fact that above his shoulders was simply air, a head clutched under his arm. It was decayed and the jaw hung open. Instead of eyeballs, the eyesockets were filled with the same blue fire as his steed. As the horse stopped its prancing, a far off scream could be heard and the creature turned its head to look at Alexander, who was smiling pleasantly at the thing. "Good evening, Ciardha!" He said brightly. The creature was silent as he looked the couple over before a ghostly voice responded "Good evening, Queen's loss." the creature said, for it could only be the creature talking, although it's mouth hung agape. "It's Alexander, but I suppose the title fits. Is that what they're calling me now?" he asked conversationally. "It is. It has been your title for quite some time." The creature responded. Suddenly the horse reared and bolted to circle Alexander before he could keep Danny behind him.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

She gasped as she heard the horse's cry far off. She looked up at Alexander with a frightened expression, now clinging to his shirt. "Alexander... ?" she asked before he spoke with whatever was in front of him. She hadn't seen what it was yet, but soon enough a horse circled around behind her, and her eyes widened as she spun around towards it. She shrieked as it came and turned around towards Alexander again, clutching to him again.━━━━━━━━ × ━ × ━ × ━━━━━━━━ Who am I with ? -- Alexander

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Alexander turned quickly, his arms around Danny in the same instant protectively. "So then, I see you've met my friend." He said darkly. He tipped his head down, his mouth by Danny's ear. "Don't move." He murumured, but the creature only laughed. "Keeping her still will not keep her from me!!" It said uproariously, it's steed whinnying and beginning to prance nervously. "You know how things are! When I stop, a human dies." It said with grim amusement. Alexander's arms tightened around Danny some. "And by the sounds of things, that has already happened. Danny is not your charge this evening." He said. However, the creature reached its hand out towards Danny. "There is always time for more." It hissed as Alexander reached into his pocket. Before it could touch her, Alexander gripped its hand, his gold watch chain wrapped around his own. The creature screamed as its flesh burned the sound quite disturbing, until Alexander released him. " NACH 'Sí do anocht in aisce, Dullahan!!" Alexander said aggressively as the creature's skin stopped smoking. " B'fhéidir nach anocht, seelie, ach beidh sí mianach lá éigin!!" The creature said, its tone matching Alexander's. It lowered its head to come face to face with Alexander. " Cad a tharlaíonn má an banríon fuair sé amach faoi seo teagmhas beag, eh?" It asked darkly. Alexander just laughed "An é sin i gceist a bheith ina bhagairt? Tá tú unseelie, ní bheidh Tatiana a fheiceáil an maith leat." Alexander said with some amusement. The creature growled and retracted its head. "Some other night, little girl." It said darkly before the horse reared and rode off. Alexander watched it go for a time before looking down at Danny. "Are you alright?" He asked quietly, placing a hand on her head to stroke her hair comfortingly.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

She hadn't understood a word the horseman and Alexander had said, although she wished she had. Then maybe she would understand what had happened. "Alexander... " she said through choked tears. "Alexander... what happened?" The tears were slipping down her face now, although you couldn't see them because her face was buried in Alexander's chest. She felt her hair being stroked, and she tried to inhale, but if she made an attempt to, she would just cough and grip his shirt more.━━━━━━━━ × ━ × ━ × ━━━━━━━━ Who am I with ? -- Alexander

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Alexander tipped Danny's face up with a gentle hand under her chin. "Danny, breathe." He said, his tone gentle but firm as he held her gaze. He waited until her breathing was under control before wiping her tears away. He sighed. "I'm sorry, I'm afraid this is my fault. You see, there are things in this world that normal people aren't meant to see. That happened to be one of them." He said, stroking her hair again. "That was a Dullahan, a messenger of death. Though what he was doing here, I'm not sure. I'd heard some of them have migrated, but still." He said. He shook his head. "Though I'm sure that's not what you want to hear. You shouldn't worry though unless you've a weak heart, they're not killers. Well mostly. If they can they'll do their best to scare you to death, but they can be repelled by gold." He said, holding up his chain. "Are you alright?" He asked again. "Not going into cardiac arrest, are we?" He said, trying to calm her with a little humor.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

The gesture seemed familiar, like he had comforted her before, but if she could recall correctly, he'd never had to comfort her on this level before. She closed her eyes for a second to catch her breath, and when she opened them, she tried to make sense of what he was saying. She tried to focus for a second, him stroking her hair a little distracting. That felt familiar, too. Why, however, she didn't know. After his last question she smiled, taking her own hand to wipe at her eyes before she became serious. "Alexander... you're not telling me something, aren't you?" she said, her voice nervous and scratchy. "If I'm intruding on a topic you don't want to talk about, fine. We don't have to talk. But..." she pulled her chin away from his finger, but left her head where he could continue stroking. "You spoke to that thing like you knew it, like it was a friend." She was tempted to bring up the monster from before, the one that almost drown her, but held it back. She knew that thing had been a mythical creature, research had never let her down before. She had a feeling that she was coming on too strong with this subject, so she stopped there.━━━━━━━━ × ━ × ━ × ━━━━━━━━ Who am I with ? -- Alexander

He said. "As for knowing him, he's from my homeland, though I wouldn't say he was a friend." He said. "Mother didn't exactly want us playing with things such as Dullahans." He said. He put his hands in his pockets to stop from fidgeting. "But you should know that nothing bad will happen to you because of you're affiliation with me." He said, looking at her. There was so much that didn't make sense to her, and she didn't know how to react. This 'thing' comes out of no where, scares her half to death, and Alexander doesn't even explain himself. "Okay," she said simply, slightly sad now. Her confusion hurt her, and she didn't know what to do about it. "Come on," she said as she started walking again.
