The newest one was the tiniest he'd seen so far, nothing even in comparison to his first fish. Aprife threw it back right away, wondering momentarily if a larger fish would have snapped his weakened equipment.
Maybe not, he realized, as he pulled in another decent sized one. It wasn't the biggest, but at least it was bigger than the very first.

Fishing? But that seemed so boring. You were either waiting for the fish to come to you or flailing around and trying to hit one. Minist stared at her choices in fish acquiring methods. Eventually she settle for a simple rod. The more boring choice, yes, but also the one with the most engineering. How did that reel work? First she would toss he line in and test it out. Then she would take a closer look.

Ooh! She was able to pull up a pretty big one! She could feel the strain on her reel. How did that thing keep together with all that force on it? Interesting.

WOAH! She pulled up an absolute monster that time! The whole rod bent drastically and it took all her strength to keep the reel from spinning violently and letting this precious catch go. O.K. She'd have to hold make her desires on dismantling this device. She wasn't sure if she'd be able to pull in this catches with just a stick.

She had obviously piqued now. This catch was only half the size of her last. Hm, maybe she could bring this home and have seafood for a couple of days. Did Ratmom like fish?

Wow, here was another big one! This one put up a bit of a fight and Minist almost fell into the water from her rocky perch. Setting it aside she got herself settled again and threw in her line for the last time.

Khanda had been far too busy wallowing in self pity to join in the scavenger hunt, but at the mention of fishing she perked up a bit. Now here was something she could do! Bessy had taken her on hunting trips plenty of times when she was younger. . . before she placed her under hive arrest. Thinking of her dear lusus again the seadweller gazed into the waters. It would be so much easier just jump in and catch the fish like she used to, but what if Bessy was down there looking for her? No, it would be better to stay up on land until the festivities were over. Finding a nice spot for herself she found some bait and smeared it all over her whip. She didn't need any handouts from the drones. She had a perfectly good fishing method right here.
