✴ William ✴

❝There are reasons to live,
there are reasons to die

William watched her curiously when she tilted her head back to look at him, wondering why she looked like she had seen a ghost at first. ... Oh. The small smile that had formed on his face while he was reading the weird witch book in her hands slowly faded as he looked down at her, wondering why she was just staring and not saying anything.

Did he... frighten her? But she was a witch. She shouldn't be scared of anything! ... Maybe he broke her, somehow? He was tempted to poke her with a stick, but there was no stick around, and even if there was, he wouldn't be able to pick it up. And then he noticed her frown, as if she was thinking about something. So she wasn't broken, but just a little... slow?

He continued to stare as she sighed, wondering if he should say something. She was so quiet, that he was afraid she would get mad if he broke that silence. Or leave like his two once-possible-wives after they rejected him. For some reason. It didn't make much sense, but she was a witch. Since when did witches have to make sense? He jumped slightly when she finally spoke, having expected her to remain silent for even longer.

"I... uh. Hallucinations aren't normal. Um, what are you... hallucinating?" He had to ask, because he honestly had no clue what she was talking about. Did she see something he didn't? Or... did she think he was the hallucination?

"GAH! It spoke! The Mini-Markus spoke!" Tshila said, bolting up straight and whipping around so she could, well, keep staring at the hallucination which might not be a hallucination. Narrowing her eyes, she inched closer to William and reached out to poke him but her hand just went straight through him. As if he was a ghost! Like...Kasie!

Oooh. Mini-Markus Ghost! He was so adorable. She...wanted to hug him.

Using the back of the sofa, she pushed herself up so she was nearly on eye level with him, still trying to work out if he was real. "You are...so adorable!" Why wasn't Markus this cute? Admittedly, he was 'cute' in a different way but if he was like this, she'd just squish him all day! And put him in a little dress. With bows.

Actually, she'd already seen Markus in a dress with bows, several times. Hmm.

William jumped and cowered behind the couch for a moment, startled by the witch's very... sudden reaction. He slowly moved back up from behind the couch, curious as to what she was talking about. Mini what? He watched in confusion as she tried to poke him, inwardly questioning why everyone decided it was Violate William's Personal Space Day.

He frowned at her, waiting for her to say more to clear up his confusion, but it didn't seem like anything was coming. She was just... studying him, and he was starting to feel a little creeped out by it. He perked up slightly when she finally did speak, surprised by what she had to say. Adorable? It was the first time he heard someone call him that. "R-really? Um... thank you?"

"That means you're not going to throw me into the oven, right? 'Cause I don't have any bread on me," He had to make sure, because she was a witch, after all. He didn't like the idea of being fattened up and eaten by this stranger at all, especially after she was staring at him like that for so long.

"No," Tshila said, blinking. Throw him in the oven? "There isn't even an oven here! And I really don't think I could throw a ghost...person...into the oven. Even if I did, you'd just fly out right? And I don't really want to anyway. What good would that do?" She climbed over the back of the sofa, sitting on it and dangling her legs on the other side.

"So, I'm Tshila! Who're you? New student? You totally look like this guy I know except how he's always crabby and looks grouchy all the time and he's taller and you're way more adorable than he is!" She grimaced with the bell rang. Well drat. Just when she'd found someone interesting too.

"Sadly, I have to go to Astronomy though so I guess we'll have to catch up later." She swung her legs over the back of the couch again and hopped off, gathering her things. "What class do you have next?"

❝There are reasons to live,

William smiled, assuming she must have been one of those rare good witches. She did make good points, and even if she was secretly an evil witch, she couldn’t really do anything to him, could she? He nodded in agreement, and when she sat on the edge of the couch, he tried to sit next to her, hovering over it so it at least looked like he was sitting.

“William, and yes, I’m new,” He replied simply, finding it difficult to even get a word in with Tshila. He didn’t mind too much though, because he enjoyed listening more than speaking. Especially when he heard that there was someone around who looked like him. He wasn’t sure if she meant another ghost or if he was just a lookalike, but either way was interesting.

He frowned when it was time for them to go, but at least she hadn’t run away like the last three girls he met. He perked up slightly when he heard she had astronomy next, recalling that he had that class as well. He floated around her as she gathered her things, telling her with a wide grin, “I have that class too! It must be... fate. But why would I be fated to meet a nice witch?” That was definitely something he needed to figure out.

"Oh, um...I'm kind of not a witch though!" Tshila said. "I have no idea why you'd think that. Oh! But I know one or two of them, if you want me to introduce you. Like, there's Reilynn and then the potions professor and I think the school doctor is one too so, you know, lots of witches around."

"I'm just a completely normal girl. Well, not really normal but close enough cause I'm half-Djinn so I guess that makes me half-normal too, know what I mean?"

She stood and stretched slightly, tossing her bag over her shoulder. "Problem is, that was definitely the lunch bell so we missed class. Don't worry, it happens here a lot. But it's not like we have unicorns and angels roaming the hall yelling at people who skip class or anything because that would be totally weird."

Oh, she wasn't a witch? Well, she certainly wasn't human with the weird green tips in her hair, the eyes, the markings... Well, those could have always been hair dye, contacts, and tattoos, but he liked the more out-there assumption. And he was right when she said she was half-Djinn! ... "What is a Djinn?" William just had to question it, because it just sounded really weird. It kind of reminded him of genies, but she wasn't in a lamp or anything.

... He wouldn't mind if she was one though. Wishes would be amazing to have. He could wish that he never died! And world peace, to make up for that selfish wish. He was relieved to hear that missing class didn't cause too much of a problem, since he was planning on missing plenty if there were more people like Tshila around. She was much more fun than learning. He was a little disappointed to hear there weren't angels and unicorns yelling at people though, because that would definitely be worth seeing.

"Where are you going?" He asked, latching onto her back... well, making it look like he was, determined to follow her around since he missed the chance to follow the three other girls.

"The cafeteria!" Tshila said, looking over her shoulder at William when he latched on without...really latching on. "Because, you know, food and stuff. Anyway, Djinn are...well, we're kind of hard to explain. You know, according to legend, the first Djinn were created when the angels were created by were formed from smokeless fire. So I guess they're kind of divine creatures? They're not angels though. And they aren't demons cause, like, demons are just fallen angels and all that."

"And there are lots of types of Djinn, too. Oh! And most cultures call us genies, which is really weird because it gives people the weirdest mental images because we're not like those weird bald guys that live in lamps. Oh, well, some of us..." She trailed off. Well, she probably shouldn't talk about that because you never knew when someone might try to bind you to a lamp or something and she didn't even know if she could be object bound but she totally did not want to find out.

"Anyway, it's nothing like the stories!"

Ah, food. Something he never really got to try. Eating seemed really... weird to him, but William got used to it because it seemed like people did it so often. And he was very amused when Tshila told him about Djinns. So they were not-angel, not-demon, not-smoke, not-bald, fire genies? How... confusing!

"Does that mean you have lamp if some of you are really like that? And if you were made from fire, why didn't you burn the couch? And why were you reading a witch's book if you're not a witch? Can you grant wishes?" He couldn't help but ask all these questions, wanting to know everything about these weird 'Djinn' things. The living in general were fascinating enough, but he found something stranger than strange and just had to know more as he was 'carried' off.

Penelope found herself in the student lounge once again, this time reclining on one of the larger sofas in a rather relaxed state. Somewhere in the back of her mind she heard Grey's warning to her about falling asleep in random places on the school grounds, but she was... pretty... tired. Well, dozing in the student lounge probably couldn't hurt as long as she woke up in time for her next class right? She sighed and closed her eyes, letting her drowzyness overtake her and her mind ebb into sleep...

Kasie was such a horrible student. Oh, well. It wasn't like anyone would ever catch her. Haha~. As she wandered into the student lounge, she caught sight of a dozing... er... Penelope! She got it! Yes! It was pretty hard not to miss her since she wore all red. It was a bit tacky in her opinion, but who was she to judge? She wore the exact same outfit every day.

Weeeeell, since it was only Penelope and her in here, then Kasie was free to play a little prank. She zipped over to Penelope, making sure to hover as closely as she could to her face, before giggling out. "Boo!"

"GAAAH!" Penelope was yanked out of her unconscious state by a sudden exclamation coming from somewhere that was FAR inside her personal space. She flailed wildly but, hitting only empty space, she ended up throwing herself off of the couch and onto the ground, face first no less. "O-oof!" She wheezed, knees bent, arms stretched above her head like an unarmed cowboy, strange that that was where her mind went first, cowboys.

"A-ah, Ah! What, who?" She blinked blearily, pushing herself upright and into a sitting position while trying to figure out what just happened, exactly. "Whozit? I mean, whatzat? I mean Kasie! Hi! Er, fancy meeting you here! Ah, um, right. How's it, I mean, how've you been?"

Juliet entered the Student Lounge. There were some students already there, but, she didn't really care. She walked over to a sofa seat and sat down. She curled up in a corner and tried to sleep. She didn't feel like studying so, sleeping would be a nice option.

It worked! It actually worked! As Kasie did her best to try to stifle her laughter which failed, she was inwardly cheering. Of course, she was still a little grossed out that Penelope ended up going through her several times, but that didn't matter. She finally scared someone! That was a miracle considering how "scary" she was. After all, who would flail about at the stereotypical "boo"? Kasie should have been more original with that approach, but hey, it did the job either way. In between chortles, Kasie snickered out. "Hi to you too, Penelope. Hehe. Oh, man, you should have seen the look on your face. By the way, nice faceplant. You really just made my day there, so thanks for that. It was a good wake-up call though right?"

"Speaking of wake-up calls, want to join me in scaring Juliet over there?"

Penelope gave Kasie a small smile as she laughed at her misfortune. She tried not to let the girls prank get to her, but she really wasn't a fan of that sort of thing. Years of having to deal with her siblings shenanigans had sort of turned her off to the whole "finding humor in other's misfortune" sort of thing. She was sure it wasn't anything so insidious when it came to kasie, but still.

"Ah, um, what? Er, no. I mean, no thanks. I've gotta... there's... I have class I mean. There's class. I have class. Should be getting to class. Right. But, have fun with the whole wake up call thing. I'll... I'll see you around. We should hang out sometime, o-or something. You know, later. Cause I have to go..."

She grabbed her bag and scrambled to her feet, heading for the door rather stiffly. Mr. Gray was certainly right. Sleeping anywhere outside of the grounds was definitely a bad move. She gave kasie another smile before leaving, mostly just in an attempt to show the girl that she wasn't upset or anything.
