And then, suddenly, everything was happening at once as Caelius led the sheep to the... capture. Madison stepped back as the first wave of students crashed into the Hunters, and suddenly nets, fists, and god only knew what else was flying everywhere. It was very nearly overwhelming and for a long moment Madison stood frozen, her gun wavering between targets. And then she saw her. The horse-b***h. clickclickclickclickclickJammed. Madison let only a long, low hiss of frustration escape from between her golem's sharp teeth as she pounded the capture gun with the heel of one hand. In her mind, Kouki radiated smugness. Clearly, this was what you got when you used a weapon that wasn't yours. A moment later, the weapon fired, net soaring up and tangling in the branches overhead. Rrrgh. Madison's knuckles whitened around the weapon and for a moment she seriously considered throwing the damn thing at a freak, even as Caelius drew off a group, leaving them with the remnants. And then... there was a familiar face. A familiar set of weird-a** ears and fluffy tail. Oh, yes, she knew that face. A cold, pleased smile - with fangs! - spread across Madison's own visage as she lifted her weapon and fired. This time, the gun not only went off, but the net flew true, right at the little weird-eared fluffy-butt freak from the Haunted House. Her friends had sacrificed their time and put themselves in danger by trying to free her, and now she had gotten herself caught again. What was wrong with her? Tears of frustration began to well up in her eyes as she teared at the trap, the net leaving marks in her hands and they dug deeply into her fingers. "I'm so sorry, you guys," She whimpered, "I...I'm always the one who has to be saved, and I'm just tired of it." Was she just not strong enough to save other people yet? Or was she doomed to be the damsel in distress?
Mort had gotten caught earlier when he had been trying to save her, and Jack forbid of any of her other friends go through the same thing. She looked back to Levi, swiping at her eyes with the back of her hand. "W...what I said still stands, though--you need to get out of here before you're caught as well. The others went after Caelius--you should go help take him down."
She would get out again, eventually. It seemed, fueled by overwhelming frustration, she was intent on trying to rip the net off, no matter how futile of an action it proved to be and no matter how much damage her hands would sustain. The fight continued regardless of the other group that left, as Hunters waited for their weapons to recharge, and the students their Fear to properly reassemble. The golems made the Hunters slower, easily confused by their remote bodies, while the Amityville students fought against the Fear-sapping barrier.
Stalemate.
But not for long. There was a strange clicking noise from the Hunter Relics - the sound of the handgun lock releasing, ready to work again. Whether the students had enough energy to fight or simply save others-
-they could only rely on themselves. THE SUMMARY SO FAR: - In the outskirts of the gym, students encountered an odd figure cloaked in red, eerily similar to the secret ceremony held by some of the students post Red's death. They seemed to somehow personally know a couple of students, luring them out of school grounds and into the trap where the Hunter trainees awaited, on the very grounds where there had been a ceremony of the late professor. All the trainees are currently wearing red cloaks, despite looking like creatures from Halloween themselves. The trainees are using nets to capture the students, however several of the students have also followed the perpetrator Caelius, including the horsemen, towards another location. Currently all students and trainees stationed here are locked in battle and cannot run or flee. OOC: ROUND 3 exclaim ALL PLAYERS PLEASE LIST/QUOTE YOUR TARGET EVEN IF YOU ARE POSTING FOR A ROLL TO LET OTHER PLAYERS KNOW exclaim Halloween: Fear Barrier Effect:You are feeling a little tired... drained... it is becoming painful to even stand up: Subtract 10 HP from your total amount. (Fear attacks are still non-usable but regular melee/weapon is fine) - You can choose this turn to either attack a cloaked figure OR save someone from a trap. Please list your option at the bottom of your post in OOC notes so we know (see ref below). Simply quote anyone (Hunter) already existing in this thread to attack them. - Only one action per round please, unlimited rp reactions - To attack a cloaked figure QUOTE the person you are attacking and then roll the dice. The bird boy's answer was given by other hunters and she grinned, patting his head like a small dog. "Because while you may not think you're going to kill someone now? Ryan merely shrugged. At this point it was fairly obvious that they weren't their own kind. Regardless, he didn't give away any specifics.
"Sorry, but I'm not going to give you that chance." He grinned, raising the gun and pointing it directly at the ghost girl. "Too bad..." And with that he fired.

"Enough. Get out, get out of here. You do not belong here, so leave." Chuppi's words were harsh even to her own ears, and she lowered herself onto all fours as she prepared to attack in case this perversion of her specie did not dare to head her warning. It did not matter that this 'Miquel' now had another companion at her side, she still had Mort with her, and the little monster hissed and went to launch herself. . . .but found it was hard to move.
Her attack was weak and barely missed its intended target, her body rushing pass without even so much as a slight scratch to her enemy. The monster managed to catch her feet on the way back to keep her balance. She hissed and raised the quills on her back in challenge, knowing all too well she was getting weaker. What was happening?

Madison smirked as the fuzzybutt went down, wailing at her little freaky friends. Hah. But she didn't have long to enjoy that minor victory before a not-human swung at her - was that a guitar? what the crap?! - driving her golem back. Out of reflex she raised her gun and fired at him, but the net went wide and sailed to join many of its brethren hanging in the tree branches. Cass's insane grin remained on the golem even as she was lunged at by the offending real!Chupacabra variant of her golem, pointing her capture gun flat-out into Chuppi's face.
"Checkmate." she said plainly, pulling the trigger and releasing the net from it. When it came to guns, Cass was quite good with them, even if this one handled nothing like Nicodemus did. With the capture complete, she looked to her comrade, Davey who had apparently come over to assist her.

"My aim only sucks when the target isn't behaving properly," replied Gale with a mild smile. "And only when I'm fighting a certain one of my kind that has a penchant for beating me. But for the most part..." he shrugged, a toothy grin crossing his face. "I have pretty good aim."
Then he shrugged, one hand in his pocket, the other holding the trapping gun loosely between gloved fingers.

Then he promptly raised the gun and shot it at the kitsune with a loud bang.

The fact of the matter was that Eva's aim really sucked. Like, really. The moment she saw one of their opponents (who looked human?!) lunge at Madison, she turned and fired the trap gun at him. Unfortunately, in her haste, she had neglected to take careful aim and the net flew off to capture one of the trees in the surrounding area.
...Lovely.
Ignoring this, she rushed up to Madison, lowering her voice to a whisper. "Are you alright? One of those...those things hit you, right?" She wasn't sure what else to call them--the boy had looked human, but the fact that he was fighting against them indicated that he was probably one of those Halloween citizens.

Tybalt swayed lightly on his. He was feeling tired alright. Thanks to all the stress, the recoil from his own Fear attack earlier, and now the lack of Fear in general, he was about ready to just toss in the towel and go to sleep. Then again, he was sure the results of that decision wouldn't end well. Besides, he could still fight! ...maybe.
Scanning the crowd, he picked out a single target and lunged for him, teeth bared and ready to tear him apart.
"This is for before!" He snarled, and bit onto the others arm.

"It was no problem," said Sparrow to Tybalt, but he comment was spoken in a clearly distracted tone as his eyes swept across the field, fingers tightening around the metal scythe. He could see more of the red cloaked figures passing around, nets flying in every direction.
We can't lose.
He darted away from both LW and Tybalt, leaving the black dog to care for the shewolf as he leapt towards the first red-cloaked figure he could find.
"ARRRGGHH!"
The scythe cut through the air, just beside the figure's body and landing point-first into the ground. Sparrow yanked it up, anger flooding through him as he whirled around to face the hunter. He felt unsteady on his feet, exhaustion and weariness seeping into his veins as he swayed from side to side, blinking rapidly.
"Leave us alone, you Jackass."

Yin Cang watched his target disappear behind the tree. No, they would not escape. It was not the best plan of action to go charging in, but not knowing the confusing masses of students he had left behind he dd what he did best. He went for the enemy. But then he felt his Fear draining, sapping his energy. He went to attack but found himself having to reach out and use the tree to hold himself up instead. Surprise lost he backed away, trying to regain his focus.
