Meme couldn't help but to laugh at Cook, she was always looking out for him. But the scuffle began to worry him. Meme started to wonder just how badly Rufus was really hurt but since they were in the process of going home he would start that conversation later. "Lets go home, okay?" he asked softly, taking his husband's hand into his own.

Kuro's heart nearly skipped a beat when Akito fell but luckily he was able to catch the frail boy. "Alright, that was a good try." he said softly, picking Akito up into his arms carefully so as not to pull anything. "We're going home." he stated with a small breath of relief, glad to have this whole ordeal done and over with.

 Rufus nodded, made sure Cook had everything she needed, informed Helena and Troy that a carriage would be back for them and went back to Meme. "You're to sit inside the carriage, alright? Time we went home."

Akito snuggled into Kuro's arms, feeling safe despite the small twinges of pain - Kuro was being extremely gentle and careful, but the movement made the wounds rub together slightly. "I'll try again when we get home." He promised. Then he opened his eyes in alarm. "Will you send word to my family? They'll be wondering what's happened to me! Oh, but please don't worry them, okay? Say I fell over or something?"

Meme smiled and nodded. "Okay." he said simply, glad to be going home finally. He continued toward the carriage and sat at one end of the carriage, leaving the other seat open for Kuro and Akito.

Kuro gave a soft sigh and nodded. "I will let your family know what happened. I'll try not to worry them too much." he said softly, placing Akito on the bench that sat opposite of Meme. "If you'd like I can allow your family to come see you once we are home?" Kuro's eyes turned a bit sinister for a moment. "But if that loud rat comes three inches within the door, he is going to wind up in a frying pan." he said seriously, he had no clue why he was so afraid of such small dogs. It was something he had been afraid of since he was a child.

Rufus made sure everyone was in the carriage safely, helping Cook into her seat and then jumping into the saddle with less than his usual enthusiasm. This'll hurt later...

Akito grinned weakly at him. "Better not tell them they can visit, then. That dog follows them everywhere... mind you, I will be there so he won't be able to get you." He felt better to be able to tease Kuro a little.

Meme sat patiently next to everyone, though it was an uncomfortable and tight fit but they made it happen. In just an hour they arrived back at home and Meme felt like he could breathe again now that the stress was over. He exited the carriage and gave a soft sigh. Meme walked to the horse's side to greet Rufus.

Kuro grumbled a little. "Damn vermin should be cooked, not domesticated." he mumbled softly, but was quiet for the rest of the ride in case Akito was wanting to sleep on the way. Once they arrived back at the castle, the home had a bit of a glow around it instead of the dark looming cloud that doomed its inhabitants. Kuro was quiet glad to be back at home. He slowly brought Akito out of the carriage. "You will be staying in the guest bedroom. Sarah will come in to visit you from time to time so if someone enters your room at night, don't be too afraid." he said softly, carrying him inside and up the stairs.

Rufus had made it off the horse moments before Meme came towards him. He stood awkwardly, his stomach and side throbbing as he smiled at Meme. "You alright?"

The moment they arrived, Cook excused herself to go to her kitchen, intending to whip up something for them now they were home. Not to mention a recipe that had served her well in encouraging Rufus to eat after a fight or 'argument' with his father. She suspected he'd been hit in the stomach, and knowing him he wouldn'[t have stopped to eat anything before facing his father...
Akito chuckled at Kuro's grumbling. He found it amusing and sort of sweet. He stayed quiet on the ride, only speaking when they arrived. "Will you make sure you get some sleep too?" he murmured to the Butler, knowing he wouldn't be able to argue his way out of staying at the palace no matter how uncomfortable and awkward he'd feel.

Meme smiled as Rufus hopped off of the horse. "I'm okay. I'm more worried about you. Maybe you should lay down for a few days." he said softly, taking Rufus' arm and spreading it across Meme's shoulders to help the other stand better. He began to slowly walk toward the door and eventually inside. "I'm sure Cook will be making you something to eat, you could have dinner in bed!"

Kuro looked down at the boy for a brief moment but didn't say anything right away. He brought Akito to the spare bedroom and tucked him into bed. "Alright, I'll try to sleep a little. But you have to promise to get better soon." he said sternly, sitting on his bed for a few moments. "Do you need anything? Medicine, food, water,...a cold washcloth?"

Rufus bit back a flirtatious answer to that suggestion, aware that it would worry Meme more if the pain overrode the passion for a change. Instead he shook his head. "I have to announce the news to the media as soon as possible. If they have to wait too long, someone will just go ahead and publish the news of Alaric's death and then the people will think there's something suspicious about it." He groaned. "In maybe a week or so, I'll be able to rest properly."
He looked to Meme and smiled slowly. "However, if you wanted to cuddle before sleep this evening I'd be very open to it."

Akito spluttered, half-amused and half-annoyed. "I'll try, but I can't control it!" Then Kuro started offering him help and he shook his head. "I'd like to try bathing tomorrow, but I think it'll sting just now, so... would you tell me a story, or something?"

Meme didn't like what he heard. "I understand you need to make the announcement so I won't fight with you on that..." he said softly, escorting Rufus to his bedroom as he was a bit persistent that Rufus rest at least a little. "....But a whole week?? I think you should rest sooner than that! Or at least go check in with Sarah to make sure everything is okay." he said softly, letting Rufus sit on the bed.

Kuro blushed a little and stood. "u-um.....I'll get a story for you...." The thought of bathing Akito was appealing indeed but he felt it may be inappropriate. Maybe he should get another servant to help him. "Do you know what kind of story you'd like to hear? Or is there a particular book you want to hear?"

Rufus smiled and pulled Meme down beside him so he could hold him as they sat on his bed. "I'll be checking with Sarah, just not when the media are here. I think they'll start turning up tomorrow, so I'll rest tonight but... it'll be hectic, Meme. I'm sorry for that."

Akito shook his head. "I just thought it'd be nice to listen since I'm not sleepy just yet." Then he blushed, realising how childish it sounded. "U-uhm, you don't have to. I shouldn't have asked - an adult, asking to be read to... it was stupid."

Meme let out a soft squeak as he was suddenly brought onto the bed next to Rufus. "Don't worry about it. I guessed it was going to be pretty busy for the next few days." he said softly, snuggling with Rufus a little. "What should we do in the meantime? We should probably do something that isn't too strenuous, so no horse back riding!" he said a little sternly.

Kuro wouldn't hear any of that, if the boy wanted a story then that is what Kuro was going to do. Kuro left the room and came back within minutes, holding one of his books. Kuro sat at the end of Akito's bed and opened the book to the first page. "I'm not sure if you like fantasy books but it was the only one I had."

Meme smiled a little at Rufus' expression. "Nope, no riding. We will just have to find some other way to entertain ourselves!!" he said in a parental tone. "I could go to the kitchen and see if Cook has something for you to eat." he said, threatening to stand up.

Kuro looked down at his book, thinking about what Akito just told him and couldn't help but crack the tiniest of smiles. Kuro blushed and cleared his throat, not speaking another word except to read what was printed on the pages.

Akito listened, watching Kuro as he read; the way his lips moved, the way his hair shone in the light. His eyes as they moved across the pages. He found the Butler's eyes hypnotising, not wanting to look away even when his eyelids started to droop.

Meme blushed as Rufus' arms wrapped around his waist. "O-Okay, then what would you like to do?" he asked softly, placing his hands on Rufus' arms. "Don't you think it would be kind of boring to sit here and do nothing."

Kuro finished the first chapter within a few minutes. Kuro closed the book and placed it next to him before standing and bringing Akito's blanket closer to his chin. "Buonanotte. Sleep well Akito." he said softly, giving the boy a little kiss on his forehead.
