Kazuki's shoulders slumped at Miiror's question. Unfortunately he did not have a legitimate answer for the ANBU Captain. As Kazuki spoke, it was as if the room was reacting with him. The flowers that had just been in full bloom began to close, and other plants began to droop. "I'm sorry to tell you I don't really know. Ikumen-san asked me to step in for him three times before I accepted, which was only because he seemed to sincerely need me to. Then he was gone." Kazu said, standing up and walking to the window behind him. As Miiror would come to know, Kazuki was not a power hungry dictator. He was a humble man who had not even wanted the position in the first place. But now that it was his responsibility Kazuki intended to guard the village with his life. Kazuki sighed, turned back to Miiror and extending a hand to him. "Kazuki Shishigami, newly appointed Mizukage." He said, wanting to get to know the people of the village.

Kazuki watched the newcomers enter his office one by one as he waited for a response from Miiror. Kaz had spent his time earlier going through the village profiles, reading over every little detail and committing the faces to memory. While the files held a lot of vital information, it told him little about the actual person. He had decided to only trust the files for the technical things such as height or class, and through his experiences learn about each individual shinobi. His eyes quickly assessed the first to walk in; Kage Uchiha. The boy looked fairly young, though his profile stated he had achieved the rank of jounin. He was roughly 6 feet and seemed to keep himself in good condition from what Kazuki could tell. He recalled reading that he was a weapon user, which made Kazu a bit curious to see his abilities. The next person Kazu recognized from the profile he had just recently read. This was another example of prodigal teens rising through the ranks rather quickly. This jounin was named Taichi Inozuki and the profile stated he was rather handy with his elements. When the girl arrived, Kazuki racked his brain to remember her name. She was an older genin, which was a bit surprising because most people her age had either moved onto chuunin or died. She was of the ninjutsu class but did not seem well versed in its arts. Kazuki stroked his beard once and then held up a finger to the girl, signaling her to be patient.

When Miiror began to speak, he mentioned the Elder of the Cat's. Kazuki wondered if he was a summoner as well. Personally he was the sage of the Bears, a position that he had earned throughout his life as a shinobi. The look on his face conveyed the same wishes that Miiror spoke of. It would do nobody any good if something bad had befallen Ikumen. When Miiror began to ask a load of questions, Kazuki held up his hands in a way to slow down the conversation. "Now is not an appropriate time to discuss these matters. In due time I'll hold a meeting and formally announce where we stand in the world." Kaz said, nodding his head once to Miiror. If he later wished to discuss these matters at a more private time, then Kazu would humor him. In truth, he had thought little of the surrounding world. He knew that the recent turmoil was finally beginning to die down and become more focused, but he did not intend to start making enemies and friends so quickly. Kazuki's intentions at the moment were to keep the Mist Village as a neutral party and build up it's own defenses. At the moment, the army was sparse with only a handful of training shinobi under his command. Not only that, the economy wasn't fairing well and Kazuki needed to work some things out. He couldn't afford to deal with foreign affairs when there were so many issues close to home. That wasn't to say he wouldn't fight if someone had chosen to threaten his village. He would release all hell and not hold back in the slightest if there was some force threatening his people. Kazuki snapped back to attention after giving the people time to ingest his words before speaking again. He clapped his hands together once before placing them on the desk behind him as he leaned against it and spoke. "As some of you may have heard, Ikumen Raiken is no longer your Mizukage. The position was left to me, and I intend to fulfill it to the best of my capabilities." He started, briefly recalling when Aioko-san had told him to never give speeches as he was terrible at it. "I am Kazuki Shishigami, and I hope you all will give me a chance to work with you to turn this village around and return Mist to it's former glory." He said, offering an awkward smile afterward. He wasn't usually a man of many words, perhaps to crack a joke.

Ikumen approached the office building through the main doors, he looked around to see things were rather crowded and nodded. It seemed the change in management was not as welcome to some as he expected. He looked at all the faces once more and nodded slowly. "Im sure you are all wondering why there has been a sudden change, I know Ive done the village good and Ive always protected you all, but that cannot ever be again. Not after the recent past events." Speaking slowly he sat down on the desk. "This is Kazuki Shishigami. He will be your new Mizukage. A little background of why I chose him is simple. He is the son of Akito Shishigami, a great man, a great Hokage, he helped train my father and when he turned on the world he helped my grand father take him down. The son of a honorable, powerful, and unrelenting man. That is the kind of Mizukage we need, I have a feeling he will do much better than I could have." The pleasantries were all nice, but in simplicity facts were Kazuki was strong and smart just like Ikumen and that is what the village needed. Taking his time Ikumen spoke to them all making sure he had their attention through any murmurs. "The reason I am stepping down is not because he is better than I am, nor am I abandoning you all. The fact is this. During my battle with the kage against Tokui Uchiha I sustained a detrimental injury to my chest. She struck both my heart and lungs. Save me your pity, I am not dying. You can thank Kumos one and only and best medical ninja for that. Jigami Senjuu saved most of our lives if possible and made sure everyone got out alive that could be saved. Ive spent the past month recovering and after further medical tests it has been ruled that I am no longer fit for combat. My body is weaker now, too much over exertion of stamina or chakra could kill me or debilitate me in a fight. At any rate, now if there were to be war again and it was me or the village, the ratio would become more to the effect of myself and the village. I am strong willed, but I am not stupid. It would be irresponsible of me to retain my position in such health now. I will be remaining in the village with Rika Minami, she is also in poor health, but being as I am all she remembers it would be best I stayed with her and spent most of my time on her health. If any of you ever need me I will be here, just dont try and race me." He chuckled a little before holding his chest,"Ah, I shouldnt laugh, doctors said Im still barely holding together as it is."

With a slow smile he turned to Kazuki,"With that I leave it all in your hands, Kazuki-san."
