Crystals... there were crystals.
One was already taken... a senshi seemed to grab it. The second though still seemed up for grabs. Once everyone learned the base was the damage dealer... the queen went down quick. Leaving her eyes behind.
She darted over to make a grab for the crystal.

Sailor Saiph saw the blue glint of yet another crystal and dove for it, shouldering her way past some of the others doing the same. Felt her fingers almost brush against it. And then, she heard a scream and jumped, fingers still outstretched as the crystal was jostled away from her.
The scream was what had snapped her out of her need to scrabble in the snow for a crystal. Head shooting up, her heart skipped a beat when she saw what was happening to someone she considered a friend. And with those skipped beats came terrible, painful memories that almost blotted out Tanzanite's words. The Primordial senshi's lips thinned in anger and disgust as she heard the Captain's promise to corrupt them and set them loose on the innocent right before she vanished.
Standing up, she hurried over to where Castor was and glared right back at him. Of course he wouldn't want to be touched. She knew part of what he was feeling from previous experience, though she couldn't be sure of all of it. So, rather than reaching out to hug and hold him close in sympathy, she would have to use words. Dammit.
In a clear, ringing voice that was tinged with empathy, she said, "Hurts doesn't it? Had a crazy, orange-haired b***h pull the same trick on me. It's a terrible feeling. Being used as a messenger for something like that is almost as bad."
Saiph sighed, she wasn't cut out for this sort of thing, but she had to try. Without thinking, her own hand was covering her heart, the place where she knew her own starseed rested. She'd survived Nealite. Castor would survive Tanzanite. He had to.
"The senshi they have... we can always get them back somehow. There has to be a way to purify them, right? I mean, all the rumors I've heard say we got Nova back," she paused, not knowing how to articulate what she wanted to say. Instead, she looked up, eyes searching for Alkaid as she held out her other hand to Castor, very carefully and pointedly not touching him.
"You're the best of us, Castor. Under all the flirting and jack-assery and back talk, you're faithful, you're strong. You saved my a** back at that construction site a while back, remember? And you've been a friend since even before that."
For a moment, Gabbie peered out of Saiph's eyes and winked, eyes twinkling as she silently reminded Castor of the dinosaur dress that had brought them together as friends. Willing him to remember how she'd trusted him with her secret life even as they'd plundered her aunt's liquor cabinet after the construction site fight. Willing him to be everything she, in her heart of hearts, believed he was.
"I almost let Nealite break me when she showed me my own starseed and called me a worthless coward. I almost believed her, Castor. Don't be as stupid as I was, please? Don't let them break you, Castor."
Some deep instinct told her it was time to stop talking and move back a little, to give him room.

-She'd missed it, by quite a bit this time.. not even certain where it had ended up. Hopefully it had made it to there side but really... it did little use for her if it hadn't made it to Chibimoon or one of the other Quartet members, none of which she'd noticed so far in the fray.
She was frusterated at yet another lost crystal... but not so upset as last time. They had defeated the ice monster, they had very probably actually saved the world. She could finally feel the blood startling to tingle back into some of her further extremeties.
Dusting herself off she couldn't wait to find a place to dehenshin back into some warmer clothes. Maybe even get home to a warm shower and drink.-
-There had been something going on.. as enemies that had been working together finally snapped back into their old routines. Negaverse agents were flying after senshi. But Polaris had disregaurded it all when she noticed something else shimmering nearby. Bolting forward through the chaos she tried to get her hands on the dark blue crystal.-

There was a second.
Themis actually froze, for a moment. There was a second ?! What the ?!!! But then, of course, she'd had two eyes...
But how had she gotten two crystals just like that ?!
This wasn't the time for questions, however. He went for it.

Nemesis could hardly tell who had managed to snag a crystal. Was it... Pegasus? Nemesis wasn't quite sure, but if it was, thank god. Pegasus was someone that Nemesis could be happy to see with a crystal. It also meant that Pegasus might fill her in on what exactly it does, other than just stand still and look pretty. The truth was, Pegasus was likely the only other person that Nemesis could stand to see with a crystal.
With a soft breath, Nemesis' shoulders slumped. The truth was that she simply had no energy left. Space travel, plus a battle, plus a grab for a goddamn crystal had left her utterly exhausted. There was nothing more that she wanted to do than just power down and go home. But, she couldn't power down here, there were Negaversers still around.
She turned around to head home when it hit her. Everyone was moving again, and she suddenly felt the second crystal's power signature. "Oh, god ******** damn it..." She suspected that she was too late, but that wouldn't prevent her from making another dive for the second crystal.

The first Crystal went to a white-clad senshi with hair almost as orange as Gunn's own. There was a kind of vicious satisfaction in that; at least, if the Blood Moon didn't get it, a senshi had. The second, Gunn only spotted as the rest of the group did--and by group she meant everyone, resulting in a huge dogpile for it. Who would get there first? Who knew.
She tried anyway, but it was almost certainly too late.

(( CONGRATS PEGASUS AND MEROPE!! Please contact Nessariah or Mouse to iron out your abilities for your Crystals! ))And as quickly as the lustrous gems had appeared, they had been claimed by two people who had timed their jumps, and aimed their grabs just right: after being fumbled through many pairs of almost-but-not-quite-lucky-enough hands, they fell upon their owners. This time, it happened to be the lovely senshi of dreams -- Sailor Pegasus -- and the rambunctious senshi of rogue waves -- Sailor Merope. A real, tangible victory at last for the sailor senshi. Neither Princess Serenity nor the wise and ancient Queen had made an appearance tonight, in spite of so many expecting that very thing to happen. However, it was clear to them all tonight that had they been here, they would both have been very proud. The sudden, terrible scuffle between Sailor Castor and a handful of Negaversers had settled down, leaving Castor lying shocked and motionless in the snow. Besides a few concerned voices cutting into the air, the remains of the Town Square were completely, almost reverently silent... and things had quieted down just in time. Above and behind the crowd, everyone could make out the clacking noise of clockwork, a rich and familiar sequence of bell rings starting out from the clock tower. It was midnight. It was Christmas. Maybe now was a good time to head home.

Azzo after hearing Castor yell, paused in his steps. He was looking at the senshi around the other. He had more than enough help, he was sure. Azzo turned to look for Polaris.
They should get out of here as it were, past midnight he heard the clock bells toll. Noticing that the senshi seemed to have gotten both crystals, it was a good victory for them. He sighed, moving looking for Polaris before spotting her.
"We should get out of here." He said softly offering a hand to her, "No tellings if the negaverse is going to come back with backup..." Azzo didn't have much he could help with on that front. So he could only frown and hope that the Negaverse had given up for the night and that Castor would be okay.
-----
Alexis was trying to comfort the small senshi, trying to get her to stop crying, however, it seemed it wasn't working. Alexis frowned deeply, the child was upset and she couldn't get her to calm down. "Come on hunny, everything'll be okay." She tried to assure the yellow clad girl.
Hugbell didn't want to hear it. She was trying to get back to Castor, she couldn't do anything, but she wanted to know that he was okay. She had to know, it took some struggling and even more crying before she wrenched herself free of the woman's hold.
She ran back to where the group was, teddy bear clung in one arm. Tears streaming down her face as she slipped, and fell sliding in the snow. She wasn't far from the group around Castor, picking herself up and Barnaby she made her way over, scared as to what she'd find.
She saw Castor laying there, Her eyes were puffy from crying, "I-is he okay?" She asked, peeking around one of the other senshi. She'd seen what they'd done, "D-d-did they hurt him bad?"

Tony fell to his knees, then fell forward, just inches from the crystal. The cold and his injury were getting to him, and he didn't have it in him to continue. It ate him inside, failing to do the one thing he knew could help, the one chance he had, but as he saw a senshi's hand close around the crystal he drew a breath of relief.
He rolled over onto his back for a moment, then sat up. He wasn't quite sure what to feel.
Chaonis couldn't go to him, though he felt inclined to, and instead waited around to follow Rosalind out, stick to bothering her and pretending everything was alright. He hadn't been able to help in the fight, in either fight, but next time he told himself he would be on time. It didn't bother him in the slightest that Christmas was ruined.
Painite powered down when she had a chance, slipping off with all her notes. This story had to lack a few details, to preserve the idea of terrorists in general, and not paint her lot in a worse light than the senshi for all they had done here, but it was going to be big. She was going to get home as fast as she could, then, of course, go to sleep and write the thing tomorrow.
Old habits were hard to break. Particularly when they worked for her and she didn't feel inclined to change them. It wasn't like she had to worry about anyone scooping her.

Both crystals now in the hands of others -- who they were, he had absolutely no idea, but good for them all the same -- Paris sighed as he glanced around, inching away from the crowd of people that had gone after the second crystal with him. He saw no reason why he should have to be around any of them any longer. He'd done enough for one evening; they'd all done enough for one evening.
Paris thought he'd seen enough for a lifetime. If he could go through the rest of his years without having to witness something like this again, he thought he could be happy.
Or he'd move. Because this was just ridiculous.
He didn't no who was who or what was what, and the fact that there were terrorists fighting each other while there'd been a bigger battle going on made him feel as if now would be a good time to make his exit. There was no telling if they'd all start up again, or if they'd turn their eyes on other unsuspecting victims. He'd rather be far away from any sort of strange magic and sharp objects, thank you very much.
Paris turned and began making his way out of the square, slipping around people and trying to keep a low profile, not bothering to find his duffel bag. He could buy a new one. Now, he just wanted to go home. Where it was warm, and where everything was normal.

Sinon wasn’t sure what sort of reaction she expected from the senshi of hail. Grateful words? Stunned silence? She had no clue, but his words only exacerbated the emotional wounds. “Sorry,” she mumbled a hasty apology and backed away, looking like a scared, guilty child. She watched Pomona utter a few last words to Castor before she turned away, presumably to head back home. Luckily, Pomona hesitated to see if anyone else would follow.
Loyally and gratefully, Sinon walked after her best friend. There could be another crystal or another battle, but she wasn’t staying to help this time. She just wanted to curl up in bed with lots of blankets protectively covering her.
She passed the chibi senshi--eyes vaguely flashed with concerned shock--and only cryptically uttered, "He'll get over it."

Alkaid sighed as she stood up, having made a lunge for the crystal at the last second just to have others beat her by a mile. She dusted the still frozen snow from her fuku, cringing as it came into contact with her skin. She was tired, cold and just wanted to go pass out. No doubt she'd have to have a long talk with Rohan when she got back about where she'd been for nearly twenty-four hours though. Maybe she could just go back to her home with Amara instead, to avoid it.
Then her head jerked up, eyes widening a little, as she heard that pained cry from an all too familiar mouth. Castor was crawling in the snow with a group of concerned Senshi closing in around him, except.. she could hear his protests, the anger in his voice. That didn't seem anything like the happy, carefree Castor she knew.
And yet, the time had passed when Alkaid felt a need to help the hopeless. If Castor wanted to wallow in his pain then she didn't have the strength to try and carry him out of the darkness. A month before and she would have been next to Perseus, trying to coax some sense out of her former mentor - but not now. Now, Alkaid had her own dark thoughts, her own struggle to concern herself with. She wouldn't have even been anywhere near this if Nemesis didn't have such awful timing.
She stared after the group for a moment, watching Castor in silence, before she finally turned and walked away. Whatever had happened, whatever he was fighting, she had no part of. She hadn't seen it and she was sure whatever it was, the rest of them could handle it. For once, she didn't feel obligated to be the mother hen that tried to make everything okay.
Instead, she disappeared down an empty street, headed back to Rohan's, and back to the despair she'd had a few hours to avoid. There was life beyond being a Senshi, even if it was empty and hollow now.

There wasn't anything he could do for him, or anything that he could think of. What could he do? Sailor Perseus was reaching out to him. He looked at her, hoping that she could at least get through to him. Merope knew that he couldn't. How could he? He thought he had helped, but did he really? He bit his lip, unsure of his place. The boom of the clock tower was enough to startle him and make him jump, prompting him to hug himself tighter. He lingered as the echos of the chimes faded away, shivering. He came slowly to the realization that standing there wasn't a particularly smart idea. What could he do? Nothing. That alone prompted the boy to look in the crowd for familiar faces, meeting eyes with his teammates briefly. To them he gave a tired half-wave before turning, trudging his long and tired way home. It wouldn't be until later that he discovered that he walked away from the fight with something more...

The clock tower sounded its last bell, and what followed was nothing more or less than the silence the Town Square had carried once before: it was a strange, reverent silence, but this time it was not because of the bewitching magic the Snow Princess had used to bring them all here. This time, it was because of the knowledge that while they had all, in their own strange way, been responsible for her rise... in the end, together they had also ensured her downfall. Not a single combatant would leave the square without fresh memories of snowglobes being shattered by their own hand, releasing cries of frustrated anguish -- they had defeated her. They all had. What a way for the holidays to bring people together. Then again, the fact that they were in Destiny City made the whole thing seem oddly appropriate. A tiny handful of snowglobes had managed to escape the chaos without a scratch on them. Some individuals most likely noticed them -- and subsequently gave them a good stomping into the ground, just in case -- but a few still survived. Fortunately, in light of Kaguya's death, the magic present in them had faded away, reducing them to the mere mundane items everyone had thought they were a month ago... Curious trinkets, that played a curious song. [FIN]
