*Wakes up.*
Wha...?
Oh, it's you.
Heh, I'm back on last week's schedule. Internet stops at 10:00, which means less talk, but more work on the game and anything else I have cooking. Should have some new screenshots of the reactor ruins battle by next week, then a working version the week after.

*Points to computer.*
This is my mom's. I'm in her bedroom right now. I use her computer for internet, and my own for work, but she goes to bet at 10:00 every night, like clockwork. I don't have another modem for my own computer, so I'm offline for the rest of the night.

8:52. Gotta lotta time.
*Pulls out his giant frog made of glue and broken glass, and sits on it.*
My big problem right now is graphics. So far, I have 3 characters. A blue sphere, a red sphere, and a kind of sphere-shaped guy, dressed in green. I could stick in Marche as a demo character, but then he'd stand out too much. A short guy with hair like his getting attacked from 3 directions by floating plastic balls. Yeah, that looks natural.

Edit: Heh, in the time it took me to write the rest of that, it became 8:58.

well, I can't wait to see the final product
how are you programming it again? (what language?)

Heh, I actually didn't mention that on purpose. I'm using Game Maker, mostly because it's so quick and easy, and it already has everything I need for this. Alot of people think it's unprofessional, though, because they don't understand how powerful it can be when you take full advantage of the built-in language. It's easy to make it look more generic though, and after the .exe is built, there's nothing to tell that it was GM. I doubt anyone that doesn't use Game Maker will be able to tell how it was made.

Absolutely. The guy who made it had originally intended for it to be a learning tool for beginning programmers. That's how I found out about it, but that was years ago. Since then, it's become MUCH more powerful, but you still don't really need any programming skills to start out. It helps, but you can definitely learn it fast. Think of it as a downloadable computer science class, where they give you the computer after you graduate.

Not a chance. GM is used in universities, as well as by individual programmers. The creator makes his identity known, and development is supported by a registration fee, not ads. The fee's only for advanced features, though. You don't really need to pay it unless you want to make online games or really precise special effects.
Plus, the licence lets you sell anything you make with it. It's an all-in-one programming package, for free, without anything you don't want. Best thing that's ever happened to me.

Hmm... I think I remember splitting the files among 2 or 3 floppies, but I'm not sure about that. Lemme check.
