"Sucker Punch!"

Aden was getting tired of playing defense, himself. It was quickly proving fruitless. If he was to have any chance, he needed to get himself on the offensive. He decided to let Raticate serve as the opening for that notion, speeding in front of Nidoran to deliver the blow to his assailant.

A crazy idea soon crossed his mind.

"Nidoran, jab Raticate with your horn!"

If he wasn't looking at him as if he was daft before, this surely would do it. He was asked to attack an ally? For no reason? The hell? "Just take my word for it. You can't take much more either." Chalking this up as the guy finally snapping, he did what was asked. He approached Raticate from behind and jabbed him, poisoning him in the process.

The Nidoran would soon be smacked away, real hard by that, by the Raticate. But the look of utter shock and confusion would fall upon them when Aden had his own Nidoran poison his Raticate. "Why in the world would you do that!?" Ho-oh Aden spoke. "It doesn't make any sense!"

"I knew you really had problems coming here but you may of had more than we suspected!" Celebi Aden then said.

"Problems? What, you mean the poison? Do either of you know anything about thinking out of the box a little?" Aden felt compelled to ask after hearing their shock. "I didn't make a mistake, and it's not out of anything bad anyway. I mean, jeez, I was just wanting to test something my dad was telling me about while I was out in New Bark."

He shrugged. "Would either of you know about an ability called Guts? I already have a feeling it's gonna make as little sense as having him attack... wait, why am I trying to explain this to you? Raticate, Facade! Don't let up on their Nidoran! Nidoran, Toxic Spikes!"

Aden knew the poison would eventually take its toll on Raticate, a reminder that time was of the essence in what he did from this point onward. He watched his Pokemon rush with increased vigor, a combination of Guts' increased capabilities and Facade's further bolstering. In the meantime, his Nidoran impaled the ground as he ran, trying to figure out what was with suddenly letting the poison flow.

"Poliwhirl!" The monotone Poliwhirl rushed in front of the monotone Nidoran and braced for impact upon the impending Raticate. Brace as it could, however, it didn't stopping it from blowing it off its feet and a good distance away. That. Really. Hurt. So much in fact, that Poliwhirl wasn't getting up. One down, and one may as well deem the Mareep out of the running as well.

The spikes then rained down. The two hybrids looked down as they watched the spikes slowly ooze its poison. The Ho-oh Aden was on his own now with only a Nidoran standing up against a powered up Raticate and Aden's own.

"Now what was this about my having problems? I know Raticate will be fine. I've got my doubts, sure, but I trust them all the same. If I didn't, I don't think either he or Nidoran would've listened to such a weird command." Aden spoke up. "Just because I can't do much on my own like this doesn't mean I can't fight. If we're continuing this, Nidoran, swap places with Poliwhirl. You've done enough."

The two Pokemon swapped places at once, mindful of the poisonous spikes.

It would be because of Aden's clairvoyance, if only exhibited for a moment, where the Ho-oh Aden dropped the Pokeball he held. The Celebi Aden fell to his knees, and fell down towards the ground. The Ho-oh Aden, soon after. The monotone Pokemon that was still out, disintegrated into the distorted space in which they stood.

One huge flash of light came forth from the center of the battlefield then all went black around Aden. Though this was by no means impending doom. Aden would find that his hair was no longer the silver he obtained from arriving here would be back to his normal pink. His Antennae were back as well. His wings would be returned to him also. He was back to normal. Strength and all.

Aden's Pokemon would soon appear around him, images of the kids they depicted would appear above them. They spoke:

"I told you that you were better than what you thought you were." Mareep spoke

"And you didn't even need Calm Mind to do any of that. Chasing those two all the way into the cave, the battle itself, everything." Poliwhirl spoke up.

"You really were a super hero." Raticate then spoke.

"Yea, really. Now why couldn't you have done that just now before now?" Nidoran spoke.

"You know? I don't know other than my doubts getting the better of me. I'll try to keep that in check... I think I get it now." Aden said, nodding. "We've got this. And so will Rhydon and Arcanine when we retrieve those two. Come on, there's a rematch to do later. But before that, we better find Blizz, and..."

He looked up. "Hey, you Unown? Sorry for what I did earlier."

"One thing though. You mind warning me next time before you decide to do what you did?" Raticate said, rubbing his rear. Yea, that kind of...hurt.

"Aden!"

"He's calling for you. You best get back." Mareep said.

"Aden!"

"Just relax a bit, Aden. We're here for you. You don't need to get overworked on all this stuff."

Aden would feel himself then getting carried away by some unusual force. Floating away from the four.

"AND DON'T ACT LIKE SUCH A COWARD MORE THAN HALF THE TIME!" Nidoran shouted up.

...

...

...

Aden would soon find it dark completely. "ADEN!" I started to shout. "Come on, man. I know you're there. Aden! Wake up! Don't tell me that this just brought everything to an end here. Aden!"

Aden would feel a bit of a tinge on the side of his head, probably safe to say where he apparently fell. Whenever Aden would come to, he'd find me, and his Mareep accompanying him. The room was kind of dark, but he'd find that he was in fact in the Ruins of Alph. The only light into the room was apparently a hole in the ceiling...rather the floor that Aden fell through. And it wasn't all that high up for that matter.

"ADEN!"

"Eh, sure. Was kinda caught up in the moment there. And I know-" He looked down at Nidoran. "You calm down a little. There's probably gonna be more additions than you bargained for!"

It was at this point that Aden found himself away from the four, and little more than everything fading... or so he thought. The voice got louder, alongside the mild headache still present from the head trauma induced upon his mishap. What came off to him as suddenly being back in his rightful place felt more like picking oneself from the ground. "Ungh... why does my head hurt now?" He asked himself.

Concern might've been more present on him than pain, but seeing his Mareep and Blizzard nearby wrote that notion off quickly. He wasn't sure where they were, though, with it being so dark.

"Oh God, Aden. Ugh..." A sigh of relief came over me when he finally came to. "You had me worried for a bit there. Your Mareep came running. Apparently you had a bit of a fall here. Wasn't all that big of a drop though so it could have been a bit worse, though still..." I looked up and stared at the hole in the ceiling. "What were you doing though? Were you not looking where you were going or what?"

"I think we got separated or something... I dunno. The last thing I can remember was an Unown showing up and having Mareep attack it. Then a lot of weird stuff you wouldn't believe if I told you." Aden explained, unsure how accurate he really was at this point. "I shouldn't have been doubting myself, though."

"Unown?" I asked, looking back. I looked back towards the walls where the Unown symbols were still there, seemingly untouched, yet preserved by time. This was a bit confusing, but I did sense a chi flux if only brief just a short period of time. And talk about doubting himself? When the hell did a realization started striking him so hard? "Ehhhh, here Aden." I helped him up off the ground. "Lets get on out of here and head back to the Pokemon Center now. Apparently you had a bit too long of a ride..." I said.

"Thanks... actually, could you wait there when we get out? There's something I think I should do... someone to retrieve that I should've kept with me when we left for Violet in the first place." Aden said, dusting himself off what little bit he could. Despite the pain in his head, he figured that he'd be alright now. "I don't think I want to know how long I was out now. Felt like what went on took hours.... thanks for finding him, Mareep."

He felt he should've already said that, kneeling down and patting Mareep's head. He would've pet her if not for the risk of shocking himself.

I tilted my head in confusion. "Um, yea, sure." I said to him, looking back for a moment. "Come on, Aden, the way out is this way."

"Right..." Aden said, rubbing his head as he started walking. He was still trying to make sense of what happened.

I lead Aden down a couple of corridors and up a staircase, through another hall, and past the floor in which Aden fell through earlier. It would only be a few seconds after that which he was no longer within the stagnant ruins, but outside with clean, fresh air. The sun was starting to set however. It was starting to get into the evening hours.
