"Well that depends... The shinigami were real, if that's what you're talking about..." Nikki smiled warmly at his sister.

Zestitnik, too, made himself visible, and sighed, knowing that now his playful ears and tail had to be hidden. "I dunno. Howabout Pasta? I could go for some alfredo sauce right now!" he said, catching up in a second.

"Well..." Nikki started, leaning back with his arms behind him to hold him up, he looked up at the stars. "I don't really know..." he said after a while of thinking. "Maybe I'm just... Not scared to die... I don't want to bring it sooner, but I'm not scared... It's strange..."

Zestitnik smiled and hooked his arm in hers. "Let us go, M'lady." They started taking a few steps to the nearest italian store when another shinigami stepped up to them. "Hey, Z... Sorry to bother you, but Merei and I got way too many assignments... Could you please do these for us... please?" he asked politly asking. Zestitnik sighed and looked at his little black book that had the names written. "Lillie and Nikkori..." He turned to Rena, "You wanna?" he asked her.

Lillie laughed. " Not scared, huh? Guess I got that part of our parents." She joked with him. "But, I want to do things before I die. Like I've always wanted to be in two places at once, or find a cure for the blind, or oh I don't know, just so much stuff." She sighed. She felt comfortable to her brother and she knew she could trust him with her deepest desires.

Rena giggled as he hooked arms with her and they walked to the steps, but before her evening could happen, a pair of shinagami had requested help. Well, she could do this another time... She guessed. Nodding, she looked down at the names. " Lillie... Nikkori. Sure, sounds like a goal. Twins maybe? Or a couple? Let's go see." She said, making herself escape the human sight and fly off towards their new objective.

Nikki nodded. "I know. I also want to do fun and helpful things... I'm still not sure what, but I do..." he smiled again, then sighed. "Though it's a problem... knowing that we're probably not going to be able to do all of that..." he leaned over and rested his head on Lillie's shoulder. "I mostly wonder about the people at school... What will they say? I mean, we may not be popular... But they say you never know what you have until it's gone... So will many people miss us...?" He looked downwards, longing to know the answer to his question.

Kokuro flew above the pair, hidden from their sight, but they were visible to him. He was making sure that no other shinigami came. At least... Not for now... he thought. He scanned the sky for any shinigami forms.
"Uh-um... Kuro-kun... What are you doing...?" Hanami asked, slowly flying up. She asked in her usual whisper, of which Kokuro was used to by now.
"Shh. I'm guarding them. You watch the over there, I'll watch over here." he said, pointing to the directed areas as he said them. He smiled as Hanami nodded and said, "Don't worry. They're not gonna die for a while yet!" giving her a thumb's up and a smile, he turned back to his watch.

"You never know, Rena. Maybe they're worst enemies fighting in the middle of the street, or something..." he followed her, also as a shinigami. His wolf ears twitched in happiness of being shown again. He looked at the shinigami map... or the thing shinigami use to know where the next target is. He caught up to Rena and said, "They should be right around the next corner there..." He looked up and saw Kokuro and Hanami floating there, looking around. "What are they doing...?" he asked himself.

Lillie sighed. " They wouldn't notice. No one would. All the s would gp on fixing their make up and hair and the boys would just keep following the snobby s." She told himl. Her school was so quick to judge, that when Lillie first came to school she was judged immediatly down from them. It didn't bother her. She lliked being alone, or with Nikki. She closed her eyes again, inhailing a deep breath.

Rena floated over to Kokuro, taping him lightly on the shoulder. Her hand quickly jumped up to her small, black panda ear, as she asked: "Um, Kokuro. What are you doing?" She looekd over his shoulder, staring down at the twins below. "Are they your mission?"

Nikki continued to stare off into space. "When..." he said. "When will it happen, I wonder..."

"Ehh... Yeah. They are..." Kokuro said, quickly using the excuse he was planning to use if anyone actually came. "Hana an' I are just giving them a moment alone... Hey, Z! How've you been?" he said, changing the subject a bit.
Hanami looked at Rena and Zestitnik. Will they believe Kuro-kun...? she silently wondered, glancing down at the twins, longing to fly down and warn them to run...
Wait, That's it! She used her shinigami powers to conjure up a small note that said, Run, if you want to live. on it in neat lettering and silently dropped it while Kokuro was talking to Z and Rena.

"I'm fine, now can we please get back to the assignment...?" he asked, rolling his eyes. Man, I came up here on a date with Rena... And here's how it turns out. I just want some pasta, dammit! he thought, not noticing the note falling out of Hanami's hand.

Rena giggled. "Guys, I think they had enough time alone." She said, floating down to them. Hands on hips, her blonde hair blowing in the swiftness of her movement. She stopped right above them, smiling. "How cute. Bro and sis. Can't last forever, please accept my apology."She said, bowing foward and then raising out a hand where a long scythe appeared. "Now!"
Lillie looked up, her eyes opening as big as dishplates. " Nikki, watch out!" She shouted, pushing herself and him to the side just as Rena swung downwards. Her scythe pierced the ground, missing the twins by inches. That was close...
" Hey! What the hell do you think you're doing!?" Lillie spat at Rena. Rena was dumbfounded. Her mouth hung open at the twins as she pulled out her scythe from the ground.
"You can see me?" She asked, her scythe vanishing with a poof.
"Duh." Lillie remarked, looking back down at Nikki to see if he was okay. "You okay?" She asked.

Hanami looked down at the twins and the shinigami. "...no..." she mouthed, silently. She didn't want the two to die. They were so younge! She looked at Kuroko worriedly, who also shot back a glance, showing he didn't know what to do either.
Zestitnik noticed the two glance, and silently noted that they obviously did not want to let the two go. He tuned his attention back at Rena and the twins, ready to help if needed.
Nikki looked up at Rena. He nodded at Lillie's question. His eyes were wide. He could hardly breathe. It was official, he was definetly scared of dying, now that it was so close.
"He's scared to death, mind the expression." Z said, slowly floating behind Rena. It was obvious why they could see them. Kokuro and Hanami had failed in their jobs as shingami's, and had befriended them. It was no use to hide himself, he was never great at stealth, more of a distraction sort of guy, honestly, anyway, he came next to Rena and smiled warmly, despite the fact that he was about to take their lives...

Rena looked back at the two other shinigami. " You failed?" She asked, puzzled. She then turned to Zestitnik. " Are we going to take their lifes?" She asked.
" What do you mean!?" Lillie shouted, jumping to her feet. Rena looked down at her puzzled. " You can't just come take our lives right after we were saved!" She shouted, her hair bouncing as she screamed.
" Why are you yelling?" Rena asked, landing on her feet looking at the . " Everyone dies."
" Cause' I feel so mad! I feel angry! I feel worthless! And you're about to take my life and I'm just a teenager!" She shouted up at the shinigamis. Rena shrugged.
" It's still our job."

Nikki's wide open eyes quickly darted back and forth between Rena, Lillie, and Zestitnik. I don't want to die!
Kokoro bit his lip. "Lillie's right... She's only what? 13? Isn't that way too early to die... At least let them live until 20? They have too much of their lives ahead of them... And I would know..."
"Ju--just let them... live out what we couldn't... Please, Rena." Hanami said, louder than usual.
"Please, Z." Kokoro looked at Zestitnik, and they stared at eachother for a couple seconds. Finally Z. decided something.
"Sorry, no." he shook his head. "It won't be that bad... We'll try to make it as unpainful as possible, if that helps..." he suggested as Kokuro looked at Rena, trying to get some sympathy from her.

Rena shook her head no. "Seven more years?" She asked. She turned towards the kids once more and then back at the others. "I would love to let them live. Hell, I'd love to let everyone live but this is reality. comes to everyone and just because we made ours come sooner doesn't mean we get to let others live through our mistakes." She told them. Holding out her hand, her scythe appeared as she floated towars Nikki.
"But, if they has some major reason they need to live, you have two minutes to explain." She told the twins.
Rena looked at Nikki, and then touching her eye feeling the large scar that caused her to be blind. "I--"She began but the words were stuck in her throat. "Nikki--"

Hana and Kuro hung their heads down. From what they knew these kids had no real reason to live. It made them sad to see them go.
Zestitnik crossed his legs as he watched Rena prepare to 'reap' them...She's so cute when she takes souls... he thought like a good boyfriend.
Nikki desperetly tried to form words to convince Rena that they deserve to live. Finally he got some, but nothing came out of his mouth when he opened it...

Rena rolled her eyes, pushing back her golden hair. Her little panda ears folded, making her look even more frustrated with the situation.
"You know, when I give you a chance like this, you should most likely try to use it." She told, floating closer to the ground, her scyte now rested on her shoulder. Lillie looked to Nikki and then back to Rena and Zestitnik.
"I--I want-- I just want to live! Regrets! I, uh, wanna fix them all!" Lillie said, or well more like shouted. Rena turned her head to side and wrinkled her brow.
"That's it? What about you boy?" She asked, pointing her scythe towards Nikki. She seemed so mean, somthing was tugging at Rena's insides, but she ignored it and just looked at Z' for help.

Nikkori looked down at the ground, finally finding his voice. "Mikata..." he said quietly. "I..." he hesitated, "I want to talk to her, first, at least... Just ten minutes would be all I need..." He sighed. "And... I don't want to die. Just not yet."
Zestitnik smiled. I know exactly what he means by 'talk'... he thought. He remembered when he was human so long ago, he had attempted one of those so-called 'talks' with someone. Of course, that may have been the cause of his shinigami-ness... But nevermind that...
Hanami shyly smiled and Kokuro silently cheered. The twins were going to live longer! They were definetly way too young to die, anyways.
