John shot a glance to his mate, knowing full well what could happen if Cypher's new friend wasn't so friendly...

Cypher flattened his ears, knowing Smith would kick his a** if he didn't bring back John and Jane.
"But...but....why?..."
The little pup seemed to have a much different attitude. Before he was arrogant and downright annoying. Now he seemed much more submissive. He also had that new hole in the back of his head, if anyone cared to look back there.

John eyed the pup, eyebrow raised.
Cypher whined, ears flattened. The pup slowly backed up, eyeing the other two.
"But...I thought....."
Shaking it off, the pup snarled at them and quickly ran off.
John watched the pup run off, startled.
"....that was odd....."
