Dekel playfully swatted one of his paws in retaliation for the n**, and even though he let out a loud huff when he missed, his tail was still wagging behind him cheerfully, as he was far too happy to be with someone he knew than anything else. "Not much. You?"
He paused at what Prince said next. Then, his ears flattened against his head in irritation and he nodded. "Yeah, I am. Very, very bored." He blinked and grumbled, "Why can't adults be more fun to watch."

Prince laughed at Dekel's attitude. "Would you like to go on a walk?" He asked the pup, pawing him over closer. "Maybe, we'll find something for you to do." Prince smiled, hoping that if they go on a walk there would be small game or something of the sort.

Dekel's tail started wagging all the harder at the prospect of doing something, even if it was just walking. His brown-toed paws shuffled back and forth in little circles in front of him as his excitement fueled his energy, raring him to go.
"Sure!"
That was all that was said, before the pup was tearing towards the trees. Just as he was about to disappear into a bush, he skidded to a stop and swiveled his head around to look back at Prince. "You coming?"

Prince chuckled as he pushed himself up off the ground. Giving his fur a shake before trotting over to catch up with Dekel. "Ok, Dekel, when we get through the trees here, I want you to look at the ground closly." The adolescent trotted up beside his friend. "I want you to tell me what you, see, smell, or notice." Prince looked down at Dekel to see if he was paying attention. "Anything from different smells, tracks, bent blades of grass, or whatever you feel, you should mention." He smiled and walked through the trees, stopping just inside the brush waiting for Dekel.

Dekel paused in his eagerness as he listened, flicking his gaze back and forth between Prince and the ground below him, mind swallowing the information given to him. Once the other wolf was finished, he nodded, his muzzle bobbing up and down enthusiastically. "'Kay."
The pup hopped after Prince, slowing to a normal pace as he got closer to the trees. Passing through the brush, he turned his attention to the ground beneath him and examined it as he walked. At first glance, there was not much of interest.
However, as Dekel focused more, he noticed a few bent pieces of grass and little dips in the earth. "Dirt looks funny." Following it one way, he blinked when he saw that a nearby plant had been nibbled on. "Weird," he muttered to himself. Moving closer, his brown nose sniffed at the grass and he caught a faint whiff of something.... His eyes glazed over a smidgen as his thoughts supplied the memory of one of his old pack mates bringing back prey with this scent.
"Rabbit!"

Prince smiled. "Good, Dekel." He praised the pup. "Now, follow the signs, to the rabbit." Prince's ears swiviled listening for any sign of danger. He heard nothing so he continued with the lesson. "Once, you find it, I'll direct you in what to do. . .but you must stay very quiet." Prince winked at Dekel and let him lead the way but stayed vert alert to what was goingon around them.

Kora smiled at Faiyrn's joke about evening out the genders, since they were already pretty even. She was mildly suprised when Marie proclaimed so openly that she wanted to be 'Dragos's friend. Not very many were that open with the dark wolf.
"Hello, Lilliana. I'd be happy to be friends with you." she said. "Yes, there is one other; his name is Dekel." She scanned the clearing for the small pink-and-purple pup, but he and his older friend, Prince, weren't in the clearing.

"Hello Kora." He gave his gentlest smile as he watched her and Lilliana. He felt a sort of attachment for the strange pup with his nub of a tail. Then he turned back to Fairyn and Marie. That butterfly like pup was definitely interesting. "What do you two want to do when you get older?" Asking what sort of ranks they had in mind. They must have when they were pups seen the differences in wolves in their own packs. Although he should be asking about their families he believed that a lighter topic was the best approach. Twisting her head around to look at Dragos she gave her best bark and tried to sound big. "Warrior!" She growled as her hackles raised ever so slightly. However being a hunter wouldn't be back either. It would be more fun and they'd be able to go out more. "I don't know what else there is..." She muttered. "Besides hunter." He hackles lowering and she drooped a bit, looking sad. "I'm not very good at doing stuff..."

Dekel almost yipped in excitement, before remembering what Prince had just said, and instead lowered his muzzle down to the earth, sniffing at it. He was not entirely sure which direction he was supposed to go in, but he could guess that it might be in the direction of the chewed plant. So, which that in mind, he began trotting down the path, little ears flicking around in circles in the hopes of hearing the rabbit before he saw it.
Which was apparently a good idea. After traveling a ways away, tripping a few times over various rocks and branches, and probably scaring away most of the prey around him, the pup could hear a noise small shuffling noise ahead of him and the scent had gotten stronger. When he raised his head up, he had to restrain himself from barking, growling and inevitably careening towards the little creature.

Prince followed behind Dekel, proud of the pup for knowing how to track which way the rabbit had gone. The adolescent trotted behind the pup for a few minutes before he saw Dekel struggle to keep himself in control. Prince chuckled quietly and crouched low to the ground. "Good job, Dekel, now crawl as close to the rabbit as possible," He paused seeing the rabbit look up. The creature went back to nibbling grass. "Stop when it looks up advance when it looks down, when you're close enough. . . pounce." Prince's ears focused toward the rabbit. "Go ahead Dekel." He nodded toward the pup then motioned toward the rabbit.

Dekel nodded slowly, a slight smirk adorning his face, and began lowering his body to the ground. When all but his hind quarters were flat against the dirt, he shifted himself slowly forwards.
His paw hit a rock, toppling it over, he froze as the rabbit snapped its gaze up in his direction. Keeping himself as still as possible, he just about gasped out loud in relief when it went back to what it was doing. Steeling himself, the pup kept an eye on where he stepped and returned to stalking closer to his prey. As he got closer and closer, his heart seemed to want to burst out of his chest.
Finally, he was as close as he would dare to get without alerting the rabbit to his presence. Taking a slow, deep breathe, he tensed his body and then sprung into the air, paws stretched in front of him and a snarl on his face.

Prince chuckled as he witnessed the rabbit take off. "That's ok, it was your first try." He smiled kindly. "Looks like you'll have to track something else." The adolescent ears flicked back toward the clearing. It was getting dark and Prince didn't like the idea of Dekel out here with only him to protect the pup. "Why don't we continue your lesson tomorrow?" Prince would leave it up tp Dekel to decide. He raised his maw in the air and sniffed at the wind. There was a new scent in the clearing.

It would be an understatement to say that Dekel was disappointed at his miss. One moment the rabbit was right in front of him, and the next... well, obviously it wasn't, and he ended up crashing head first into the ground. Pouting a bit to himself, he silently vowed to catch that dratted rabbit later.
With a sigh, the pup pushed himself up off the ground and padded his way back to Prince. When he heard his friend's question, his frustration vanished and he looked up at him curiously. Not really understanding what the problem was, he too raised his nose up and sniffed. He could smell another scent, one he did not recognize... was that it? He mentally shrugged, and replied, "Uh, sure." He huffed and mumbled under his breathe, "The rabbit better enjoy itself while it can." A determined gleam appeared in his eyes as he said this, his tail thumping against the earth in agreement.

Prince saw Dekel's disappointment. "Don't worry you'll get it next time." He promised to the younger wolf. "Let's go home, there is some new pups there that probably would like to meet you, we can come back put tomorrow." Prince started to walk back to the clearing keeping a close eye on Dekel. "That is if you want to." He shrugged, pushing through the brush into the clearing. He spotted the two new pups and waited for Dekel to come through the brush as well.

A soft sigh escaped his throat. "Alright." With a nod, Dekel walked after Prince. As he was walking, his mind finally registered what Prince had said about other pups, and his ears perked up at the prospect. He started to develop a skip in his step, and he bounced up closer to the older wolf.
"New pups?" His tail wagged, and he pushed through the brush behind his friend. "Who are they?"
