Hello! This is the general OOC thread right? Where I can ask questions, discuss stuff and, in general, talk about pretty much anything?
There are OOC threads in the roleplay sub-forums, but they're for a specific roleplay. I'm kinda wondering about the Artificial Scenario Generator and I might wanna try joining it sometime in the future.

Yep, this is the general OoC- anything can go here, pretty much.
Number VI's Artificial Scenario Generator is pretty much a roleplaying practice thread, and anyone can join at anytime, so long as they abide by the rules of the generator and the current scenario. Did you have any specific questions about it?

Well, the current scenario's universe is Heartfelt Adventure. I don't really have a character set up anywhere so I'll have to make a new one. You mentioned that I'll have to give out the more important details so how do I go about doing that exactly? I mean, do I mix it in my introductory post, do an out-of-character list for that, PM you the details, or what?
There's also the question of how that character should be. Should I just go wild (within certain bounds) since it is technically just an Artificial Scenario or am I under any constraints? That is, create a character that fits the Heartfelt Adventure's character template, meaning that I provide myself with stats, abilities, and a history that fits the universe? Since it's Kingdom Hearts and all the worlds are pretty much mix & match, I can just use something like that as an excuse, yes? So am I allowed to create an entirely new fictional world for my character? Also related is whether or not my character has to be an Earthling and the existence or non-existence of a summon for my character.
There's also the question of whether or not I am allowed to have a history of interaction with a canon character. The characters in the role-play right now do have that, at least in terms of interaction within the 'canon' of the RP, but since I'm making an entirely new character, I'd like to at least know my options and what are the limits to those options. For example, my character having met X, let's say Aerith, in the past. Maybe she told me something, maybe I got something or stole something from her, and so on.
Also, commentary and critique can be done by anyone? I'm assuming it is, but it never hurts to check.
There's also the matter of the formatting in the posts. There doesn't seem to be anything consistent but I see patterns.
For example: some RPers' posts are in an entirely different colour; speech by the character is formatted in another colour, bolded and/or italicized; thoughts by the character is done in italics; speech by the character's summon is done in italics and, sometimes, in another colour as well; important actions that affect other character's or the environment are bolded, in another colour, underlined, etc.
I'm operating under the assumption that most of the formatting is entirely up to the RPer in question as long as it's understandable. I do wonder, though, if anything in particular is necessary, like formatting actions that affect other characters/the environment so that it might stand out.

It's all personal preference, m'dear. Some people like coloring their whole posts, because it differentiates their characters. Some people like to bold speech, or color it, or draw attention to specific things. It's what you want. As long as you, personally, stay consistent. The only thing that is pretty much standard is the heading.
Person :: World :: Area
Unless you stay in one place for a LONG time, you don't quite need it but...
---------------------------------- OMGOMGOMG, so I'm going to PROM! Hells yeah! I'll try to get pictures.

@Anarki: I'm going to address each paragraph numerically, if you don't mind.
1) I would prefer if sent a PM regarding any character information to me to have it for safe keeping, and so that it doesn't clog up the posts.
2) You're under the constraints of the universe, though I'm sure that was obvious. If you'd like to use a Canon (that's not already taken), then that would be fine- no stats/abilities required (and no history required if they've already appeared in Kingdom Hearts). No new fictional worlds for Original Characters (though this may change at a later date; for the purpose of the Generator, however, we'll stick with no). If you're going to create a character, we'd prefer it be an Earthling, meaning: stay true to yourself, personality-wise; pick a weapon not already taken; pick a summon not already taken (for the purpose of the Generator, you can say that you found a Dress Sphere and your summon [and its abilities] have been unlocked); and set yourself up with stats. All of this can be done in a PM.
-If, however, you'd like to create a completely original character, then you can pick whatever you weapon you like (though it can't be summoned/desummoned; and no Keyblades), and you will lack a summon. However, still no custom worlds.
3) Histories and Interactions with Canon Characters are allowed, but unless you have a good understanding of which Canons have already been put into use, I would advise against it- at least, for the purpose of the Generator.
4) Commentary and critique can be done by anyone, so long as it is constructive, but only as advice; only the Crew may actually tell people to change something. I'm sure you understood this already, though- I just felt the need to clarify just in case.
5) Formatting is generally a matter of opinion, as Raziel said, but the general consensus that we stick to so as to keep things organized are:
---A) The required Location tags at the top are always "Name(s) World Location"; symbols to use, such as [], {}, : and - are completely up to the writer, so long as they are understandable.
---B) Thoughts are in italics. If you have a summon, and their speaking telepathically to you, it must also be in italics.
---C) If an action or event would affect the environment or other RPers that aren't necessarily interacting with you at that moment, then the action or event needs to be bold and/or underlined.
Things that I, personally, recommend (but are by no means required), however, are:
---A) Distinguishing your characters by giving each of them a specific color of text concerning them.
---B) Bolding speech/dialogue so that it stands out from the rest of your post.
---C) It's my personal preference to not make in-character text smaller than the normal size, nor bigger, but that's just me. If the post, however, is dangerously long, a smaller size is fine, but no smaller than 10.
I feel like I missed something, so if I did, just feel free to point it out.
