"It's not enough to know your limits..
Watching the drama unfold on the far side of the grounds with the corner of her eye Odin slashed at the straw dummy with her scythe.
Harata was good, and obviously the light haired girl was also an even match.
She huffed and tossed a stray lock of hair back. Tightly gripping her scythe she opted to slice another gash at the dummy.
I have to train more and become stronger, if I want to be useful to the Order.
She also caught a glimpse of the Overseer, but mostly his back. She nearly tripped on her scythe when he revealed himself and seeing still wasn't quite enough to let the idea he was back sink into her skull.
Today was looking to be interesting. She reared back and swung at the dummy again.

The young recruit had intended to keep her head down for much longer but upon sensing movement decided otherwise. Raising her head she took notice of the Captain who was now, strangely, walking away without as much as a word.
Coline watched on as he distanced himself, her brow furrowing in worry. Had something happened?

Puzzled by the Captain's words, he sat quietly on the ground with his legs folded, feeling discredited and confused. He didn't know that he didn't know how to heal. Coline did though, however, do well in bolstering his spirits again with her touching greeting.
But watching as events unfolded, he had the nagging feeling he had just missed something important. And he never got his chance to defend himself, the Captain left. It was an awkward moment, and the Overseer was no help in banishing it.

--- --- Bapp was flung backwards, hitting the ground with a loud thud. He staggered as he stood back up.
"Level 2 training really is different." He grinned as he walked over to the heavy swinging log ram. Mustering up his strength into his palms, he let it gather into one point, before releasing it in one thrust as he shifted his whole body weight forward.
"Soutenshuu!" He struck the ram, causing it to swing back extremely far. He anticipated it's movements, and prepared to guard.
"C'mon... Endure!" He told himself, but he still couldn't stay in that position as he was once again, knocked back by the sheer force of the ram.
"How long is this training going to take..." He sighed. --- ---

A distraction was another welcome thing. Hearing a thud and the sound of someone familiar talking to himself, the Overseer popped up off the ground. Finally he felt like he needed to say something, and offered Coline a quick word, "You are very good at what you do. I enjoyed watching you spar, thank you."
Everyone seemed nominally distracted at the time, so he took the moment to slip off to see what was going on across the training grounds. He wasn't sure what to think when he found Bapp, of all people. He stopped a few paces away, looked at Bapp, then the ram, back to Bapp, and then at Bapp's hat curiously. He gave the ram an experimental nudge. "Hello ... err, what are you doing?"

--- --- "Huh?" Bapp's attention was drawn to the Overseer as he walked over. He wiped the sweat off his face and grinned back.
"Training. What else?" He hit the ram again, only to be knocked back once more.
Struggling to get up, he sighed. "Well, it isn't going as well as I thought..."

Not expecting Bapp to go right into training after he posed his question, he jumped back when the ram swung by too close for comfort. He watched as the ram went back, back, reached its apex, paused and then rushed forward to hammer into Bapp's body, knocking him down. He failed to see how it was supposed to be training.
He stepped forward to offer to get Bapp back up to his feet. "What are you trying to do? Could I help?"

Harata walked up to the Overseer and tugged on his hair lightly. "I thought you wanted to learn how to fight?" She teased him gently. "I understand if you want Bapp to teach you, but he needs to know that you don't know that much about combat." ((No running off student.))

--- --- "Well, it's endurance training." He explained to the Overseer.
Then he listened to Harata.
"You want to learn how to fight? It's not that hard. Just hit the opponent. That's fighting." --- ---

Harata looked at Bapp and raised an eyebrow. "No. That is attempting to fight. He needs to learn how to fight properly. So next time I loose my temper, he will be able to go along with it." She grinned evilly, and winked, to show she was joking.
