Sora started from her work, nearly hitting her finger with the hammer but managing to miss thanks to pure luck, and looked over at the newcomer. She had been so focused on her work that she hadn't noticed the strange boy walk over and, from the looks of it, offer his help. "Um, sure!" the girl replied cheerily and nailed the last of the base boards of the side she was working on into place before walking up to the new boy with the hammer and nails. After nailing in the bottom, the girl attempted to the do the top. Key word: attempted. After several failed tries at reaching up high enough to get in a nail, Sora finally had to admit defeat and, with a bit of embarrassment, asked, "Erm, maybe I should hold the board while you nail in the top? By the way, I'm Sora Hikari, who're you?".

"Kaiden Shiro," he responded, giving her the board. He took the hammer and started to pound a few nails into the wood. He continued to add more nails along the top and the edges until he was satisfied the board would stay. He walked over to the other side and started pounding away on the nails, starting to get the bottom nailed in. He continued his work on the building still unknown as to what he was working on. "Sora, what is this that we're building excatly?" he asked, completely clueless about the destroyed ramen shop as he had just recently entered the village.

As Sora and the other boy were busy with one board, Haruka thought of a way for her to do it while they were busy. She held the nail and hit it with the hammer but without much force, just enough for the point of the nail to be stuck on the wood. Then, with the nail on the correct position, Haruka moved the long wood piece to where she should nail it. Once placing it to the right place, Haruka hit the nail with the hammer, making it fully go into the wood and nail it. With the one nail keeping the wood on its place, Haruka started to add a few more nails, allowing her to be sure that it was firm ══════════════════════════════════════════ Ͼhakra Ҏoints - 31/31

Sora ๑ HikariBlue Bird XXXX ๑ XXXX Run Around Forgive and Forget but don't Repeat ❂"The ramen shop," Sora replied as she did her best to keep the board steady while Kaiden nailed in the other side. After he was done, the girl then walked over to the stack of boards and picked another one up. As she was setting it, she continued, "Apparently, there was a fight and an explosion that destroyed most of the shop." Glancing over at Kaiden and noticing his lack of a headband, Sora asked another question, "Are you an academy student?". From his equipment pouches, Sora could guess that the boy was probably a shinobi but, hey, she couldn't be too sure.☪Chakra Points= 39/39 Kunai: 20/20 Makibishi= 15/15 Shuriken= 31/31 Senbon= 40/40 Exploding Smoke Grenade= 7/7 Light Bombs= 7/7 Exploding Tag: 10/10 Steel Wire: 10 meters/10 meters

Nagisa returned from the dump site to see the ramen shop making some good progress. She smiled, and shouted a reassuring "Looking good!" to everyone.
Carpenter John was not so impressed. Perhaps the ninjas could become carpenters one day, but not today. "Let me be the judge of that." he muttered, and turned to his team. "Alright listen, we have the basic framing done, I patched up a few problem spots and we should be good to go." He brought out summoning scroll #2 and called the rest of the stuff they would need. "Now we have these panels, They come preassembled so all you need to do is screw them into the frame. I'll take care of the outside, you guys work on the inside." At that he pulled one of the panels and started screwing it onto the rear wall.

Kaiden nodded, "Yeah, I just came here. It doesn't seem like it'll take too long to learn a few of these jutsu." I've never had ramen before, I'll have to try it later he thought to himself as he listened to their new directions. Kaiden grabbed a panel and placed it up against the frame. He quickly began to screw it in on all four corners. Then for extra stability he screwed it ine in the middle of each side too, just in case.

Sora nodded as she heard Kaiden's reply. "Really?" the girl kept up the conversation as she took up a board herself and began screwing it in. After the experience with the hammer, she was careful to know exactly where her hands were in relation to the tools around her. She continued, "Where did you come from? One of the neighboring villages?". After she finished with the first board, the girl then went over to get a second and started screwing it in. Compared to the start, she was working a lot faster thanks in part to getting used to the work and in part to being able to keep her mind off of the very scary carpenter by conversing with someone else.

Kaiden started to screw in another panel when he heard Sora's question. He thought it over for a moment, trying to figure out what he should say. He didn't really know where he was from. He was too young to care until he was left for himself, and after that he sort of just wandered. He responded, "Somewhere out away from the villages. I think it was lightning country, but I'm nowhere near positive. I was abandoned as a kid so I would just wander around, looking for food and shelter for a few years. And here I am now." He had obviously shortened the story, a lot. Kaiden had finished wit his current panel and went to grab another.

Sora was somewhat shocked to hear that Kaiden had been abandoned and so remained quiet as she screwed in her current board. After she had finished, she went over and grabbed another panel of wood and began screwing it in before she finally replied in a quiet voice, "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know that you were abandoned." To the girl, who had both of her parents and was naive even for a genin, she didn't know how anyone could survive without their parents. Of course, she knew that some of her classmates were orphans with both parents killed while doing their job, but at least they were taken care of by relatives and that they hadn't been abandoned. To know that you had been left alone, thrown away, that knowledge seemed impossible to bear for Sora.

Kaiden walked back to an empty section of framework and started to screw in another panel. He worked silently in the silence that followed, finishing up the panel by the time Sora responded. He went to grab another while he thought of what to say. After a while, he spoke, "Yeah, but he had his reasons. He couldn't afford it. Not to say I didn't steal a few things on my way out. Either way, I'm better off now without him." He still tried to stay away from some of the touchy subjects. Of course that wasn't the real reason, but it was the one he had to tell himself to not worry about it. Kaiden continued working on the panel silently, lost in thought.

Seeing the boy's dazed look and taking it to mean that it was probably best not to interrupt him, Sora continued to work silently. If he started talking again, even if it was about something completely different, then she'd be more than glad to continue the conversation. However, she would let him decide whether or not he wanted to talk some more. In the silence, Sora focused solely on finishing the mission as quickly, efficiently, and safely as possible. Soon, it became a short of pattern for the girl: grab, set, screw, grab, set, screw....

John walked in the back door, well the opening for the door, and looked around. They had managed to do the job without his supervision. He was glad. "Alright, looks like you've finished your job so far. I have two last tasks... Nagisa, I believe would be best suited to putting on the roof. The rest of you can put the tile in for the flooring. The rest will be done by the owners." He pointed at a pile of tile supplies next to where they had gotten the panels.
Nagisa nodded and sent her bugs to lift the roof. It was small, like the rest of the building so it was indeed within the realm of possibility. As she carefully lowered it onto the building, she turned to the new kid. "Hi, by the way. I am Nagisa the village Jounin. Nice to meet you."

Kaiden grabbed a few ties and put them in place. Wait, what's a jounin again? Come on I know this. Isn't it some high level ninja or something? I'll just go with that for now, he turned to Nagisa, "Nice to meet you, I'm Kaiden Shiro, the academy student. I just came here from who knows where." He headed back over to the tiles and picked up a few more. Am I really going to have to go through this story again? he thought as he put the tiles in place, seeing Sora working near him. Oh right, I almost forgot about her he remembered as he quickly reversed her old question, "So where'd you come from?" Clearly, he did not know that most people are born inside of the village, or really anything at all about being a shinobi,

As Sora placed the proper tiles on the floor next to Kaiden, the girl raised her head at the question. It was clear from her large smile that she was relieved to hear that her previous probing hadn't made the boy dislike her. "Me?" Sora asked rhetorically before answering, almost crushing her fingers once more in her excitement, "I'm from this village, born and raised. A normal kunoichi in pretty much everything except for the fact that my parents are both civilians."

Kaiden went to grab a few more tiles and started to work on placing them. He finished up with the set he was on when he got an answer from Sora. He headed back to get a few more, "Oh, cool." He continued to work on the ramen shop quietly. The thought still plagued him, the true reson why he was left behind. No, it wasn't. He could barely afford to survive, let alone take care of him.
