Watching as the blue started to panic she gasped in horror as the blue attacked the boys managing to get one across the neck, watching as the blood stained the sands she looked up at the blue wivering between horror at the dragonets actions and sadness becuase of the confusion and terror coming from it.
'Please calm down! Please! Your going to hurt someone else! Just calm down and we can find Yours!' She thought, trying to get across to the dragonet and calm it before more blood was shed, taking a few steps forward Nadia tried to calm the dragonet well avoiding getting attacked herself.

Leicha watched the foolish boy from before get injured once again, this time enough to make him stumble and fall, and the older candidate covered his face with one of his hands. He was sure he was dead, much like the other boy who had fallen as well, though a small jerk of Panata's body as it writhed in pain indicated he would be living through this. Still, it wasn't good.
There was far more blood, his previous wound having been made deeper, and who knows if he would actually be able to do things normally again. Leicha should have tried to stop him again instead of just standing there like a useless deadglow, knowing shards good and well a terrified dragon was just as bad as an angry one, yet he'd done nothing.
Still, that dragon just kept screaming, kept crying for his to come out. Leicha couldn't take it anymore.
"JUST SHUT UP! SHUT UP!"
He stayed where he was, though his voice was loud and clear.
"How can you find someone if you won't look, if you'll only call for them?! they can't come to you like this!"

No! Where was the bronze now, where the queen to aid their brother? Please, please...someone, some dragon, please help him! Please stop him! One already-injured Candidate was down, and another now doomed never to rise again. This was worse than the fighting siblings, worse than anything. B'ram could only watch in horror, one arm tight around His.
Mine, what is wrong with him? Nachith's eyes swirled yellow, and he hid his head. I was afraid, but I found you. Why does he scream and hurt?

Kestra could hear Orla screech over the din of the blue, somehow, not sure if her 'lizard was screaming bloody murder at the threat to herself or what. She had other things on her mind right now, much as she loved her. Like Amoreth she was trying to send her thoughts towards the blue and also, steadily edge round so she wasn't in a bunch with some of the other girls. They needed to have room in case he came this way, so they could avoid his claws without bumping into one another, and also spread out so maybe the poor dragon had a better chance at finding His.
But one thing she knew - no way she was walking straight up to him. There was bravery and then there was foolhardiness. It'd be suicide in her opinion. Would probably just agitate him further and get more blood spilt on the sands.

The screeching! It wasn't like Deprith's call for Nachith. This was a wild cry that brought J'lin's hands to his ears and Deprith to her feet, her eyes whirling yellow as she shared her brother's distress.
He took a step, stopping short as a dark green dragoness stood in his way. No! Do not interfere!
"But he needs -"
MINE. He might find His, he might not. You are MINE and I will not let you! She hissed, her tone softening, Leave him be. You are Mine and he is looking for His. Sit. Stay. Do not go near. To prove her point Deprith planted one of her talons on J'lin's foot, trapping it and placing herself between the distraught blue. She would NOT let Hers go to him! The green dragoness lifted her head and watched her sibling, displaying an air of confidence she did not feel.

The second attempt was met with the same resistance as Panata's had been. Perhaps there was some specific thing he was seeking and neither of them had it. The blue ran right over the brave (or perhaps foolish) Arolon and damaged his arm almost down to the bone.
MINE?! MINE?! He could almost hear them! But-- What? What was that? Snarling, he turned to face the screaming Leicha, then bounded toward him, plowing over him the same as he had done the other two. Damage to his right side and right arm, and likely some of his face. Content he would stop his yelling so he could hear better, the blue left the boys and ran for the girls.
A voice! He heard it!
Was it his?!
Screeching, he looked to Amoreth, about ready to approach her. But then she had stepped back, moved away from him, and he knew this was not His after all.
Growing more and more fearful, and certainly more out of control, he dove into the crowd of girls. Most were ready to scamper away, but in the chaos, one tripped. The dragonet moved on top of her and kept going. This girl who had fallen had been too badly harmed. She would not get back up either.

Sellae called to him, her voice gentle. tried to project her words as a thought, like she had to his egg. "Calm down, it will be alright!" she tried to keep her voice soothing, rooted to the sand as she was, eyes still prickling. "You can hear them, can't you?" she didn't move, as though moving would bring this dragonet to ravage her own form. But then she dragged herself forward, only a single step. "You know they are here now, don't you? Listen for them. You'll find them."

The dramatic events of the hatching continued, and Bashir watched them with interest, though his attention was divided. Sakneth had much to say, and if Bashir didn't watch him the bronze tended to try to snap up more meat than he needed. He'd already gorged himself. Not that Sakneth liked to hear that, and made that very clear to Bashir by calling him as many vile names as his limited time in the world allowed him to think of. For one so young, he was surprisingly well-versed.
When the distraught blue hatched, shrieking in the minds of anyone with the receptivity to hear him, Sakneth's eyes whirled in annoyance. Bashir wasn't sure whether it was because the blue's entrance had been even more spectacular than his own, or because he found the poor creature's cries unbearable and didn't know how else to convey his discomfort. For his own part, Bashir wanted to clap his hands over his ears, but he knew it would do no good.
If he doesn't shut up soon, Sakneth threatened, I will make him.
"You will not," Bashir said firmly. "Why don't we have a healer take a look at you?"
Sakneth slunk beside Bashir to the nearest green-clad healer, clearly sulking. He kept up a steady stream of complaints and criticisms as the healers examined him that Bashir only attended to in part. He wasn't one who habitually tuned others out, but he got the feeling he would have to learn the skill with Sakneth, or else he would hear nothing but his dragon's opinion.

R'ysan remembered the fear that this dragon in the egg had felt like originally. It was the one he walked away from because he couldn't conceive of being that afraid. He really wanted to walk right out there and give the blue a good shake at this point to snap it out of it's screaming tantrum. Screaming wasn't going to solve the problem and giving up was far worse than screaming. However, after seeing one boy go down and another one pass away, he had to think of Regedth first even if he was all to willing to walk out there. He knew she felt his tension mingle with hers and he even felt the tail curl along his leg. He wasn't going anywhere and he knew that straight from her. There had to be one person in this bowl that could fit a part of this poor dragon's life! But...according to Regedth, R'ysan would learn to think about his own life more.

Watching the dragonlet attack another boy Nadia doubled her efforts to clam him, and as it bounded toward them Nadia started to speak out loud, basically just a step above whispering, repeating what she had been thinking as it came closer. "Please calm down, please! Just calm down, take a mintue and look! Yours has to be here somewhere, you just need to calm down..."

Leicha could feel the blood on his face and the blood coming out of his side, his arm echoing both in the sentiment, but instead of panicing as he pushed himself upwards on the sands, Leicha felt resentment. Hate, even.
This stupid dragon, it had killed and injured so many without any thought, instead only terrorizing around. When it had stopped in front of Amoreth he thought about saying something again, only the pain in his face prevented this and kept his mouth shut.
This Impression had been an entire failure, and Leicha was no different than its outcome. The dragon that had come last was the worst of all, and all of those who now lay on the sands would be the forever proof of this.
Leicha's only hope was that this beast either found his soon or went between, there was no more options left for it.

"HEY." Kestra bellowed it rather than screamed, pure reaction. She had dodged round, not caught up in the bundle of girls and with the room to skirt the blue. She kept her face towards the dragon, ready to dart away again if needs be. Her concentration focused on the blue entirely, even as Orla screeched somewhere, perched in the stands. Must not get trampled thoughts mixed with pleasepleasefindYours thoughts and soothing (as best you can when you're full of adrenaline and dodging) thoughts. She wasn't running away just yet but she was being careful as she could be - rightfully wary but not terrified, for the blue was terrified enough for them all. She just had to stay on the sands, but also not get mauled. Had to.

Amoreth watched as he turned to look at her. So, he had heard her, had he? She started to move forward again, but he dove right for the entire cluster of girls there. The young woman all-but tackled one of the ladies near her to clear her from his path--too bad she hadn't picked the right girl to save. Another Candidate lay on the ground, never to rise.
She cursed herself mentally and leapt back to her feet, wildly attempting to organize the instant chaos. Why, oh why did females scare so easily? There were faces she saw that had no fear, who kept themselves calm and collected just as she had--they were the ones she had taken the most notice of during the entire Hatching. Hm.
"You silly blue," she said in her mind in the most calm voice she could muster, "I know now that you heard me; you must put yourself at ease or Yours will be too fearful to approach you. Please, I implore you, gentle creature, stop your fidgeting and take a few deep breaths. Feel how clear the air is out here, outside of your shell? Calm yourself and you'll have a chance to notice such amazing things!" It was the best reassurance she could sum up, moving to follow the creature, noting the other girl who was now tracking him as well, Amo sinking into an awkward crouch-walk to make herself seem smaller and less intimidating. By Chaseth's Flame, this one would not go Between. It just couldn't.

Arolon let out a strangled yell as the arm was damaged further. It least it wasn't his sides, but the injury felt serious. Now that he had proven quite harshly that the dragon wasn't his he was ready to leave. He wanted to know if the dragon lived, but it seemed to have fighting spirit in it considering it hadn't betweened yet. Would a medic come now? His arm was broken and now bleeding, he was nausous and dizzy, the heat and pain was finally winning the battle over his senses. He stayed down, knowing he would just hurt himself if he tried standing. He pondered why he had sharding done that? Why offer help when they don't want it? He felt jealous that others had impressed before him, it was his nature to feel so. He groaned, closing his eyes. Okay if he could just not faint he would be fine... Just....fine...oh boy. He opened his eyes again and listened to the screaming ring in his eardrums.

There were not enough curse words on the whole of Pern to describe how Janga was feeling. It was one thing to stand over here and watch boys get plowed down by a bronze and a brown on power trips. It was something else when a rampaging blue had come charging over into the girls group. That just wasn't how it was done. And all the candidates running towards it had only put the blue on the warpath. Why would anyone pity the sharding thing? It was weak. And Janga wasn't about to run away from a weak dragon, even if she did end up like that poor girl and the boy before her. Only she was certain she wasn't going to die. Only twiggy people died. Bulk had to be good for some things, right?
Folding her arms over her chest, she drew herself up to her full height and stood her ground. She certainly wasn't about to call to it and draw attention to herself, but she wasn't sharding moving either. If it got any closer, she'd grab it like she'd seen the Beasthandlers grab their sheep for shearing. This dragon didn't need a pity party. He needed a good punch on the nose for causing such a fuss. Between the pansy bronze and this yellow-eyed blue, this clutch was almost an embarrassment.
Janga had no patience for this kind of person, let alone a dragon. The sooner it sat down and shut up the sooner they could go to the feast.
