Blakely looked over at Vulcan. “Actually, I planned on cooking dinner. How does spaghetti sound?” Blakely was planning to shop earlier, but was distracted by the series of incidents. She looked around the vegetables in the store, making sure not to make eye contact with anyone. “What was your idea of what to cook though?” Blakely asked curiously. If his food sounded better, he could totally cook. Breakfast foods would probably be a good idea also. Blakely browsed the selection of foods, while thinking over what she would need to buy.

"Ahh... I forgot, spaghetti is fine," Vulcan smiled, browsing around for ingredients and other necessities that he needed. He followed alongside Blakely as she mulled through the store, pushing a cart around, "oh it's nothing, I'll just save that as a surprise for tomorrow then." He winked at Blakely, since she seemed curious about what he was deciding to make. Thinking back, it had only taken till noon since the day had gotten interesting, "come to think about it, what happened to that other traceur we happened to stumble upon? She disappeared after the fight without saying a word." A small television was mounted on a pillar nearby, showing the daily news, a state of emergency signal was scrolling along the bottom of the the broadcast: "We urge all citizens to stay indoors, unknown assailants are attacking CPF installments all over the city. Please avoid the downtown area." "I have a bad feeling about this," Vulcan murmured, but decided to stay positive, "by the way, you seem different today... like you're happier or something. You were so defensive yesterday; warming up to old Vulcan huh?"

Blakely looked around the veggies and grabbed a few tomatoes. She also grabbed some onions and mushroom. Then she headed towards the spices rack. “I think she rushed off, not wanting to get in our way. What a shame though, she could of possibly been some help.” ‘So I could make sure she didn’t snitch on me. God, I hope she isn’t like that’ Blakely added mentally. Blakely then walked over to the spices section. She grabbed some garlic, parsley leaves, and Italian seasoning mix. She noticed the TV thing. “Not good for the citizens. Maybe it will put the government in check. This city is going to one of the first to rebel, it’s so obvious.” Blakely said, smiling at the thought. Hopefully there would be no deaths. She wanted to help out, but she couldn’t. Not with everyone looking for her. They ended up in the can goods. “Well, I guess I am. After running all night makes you crabby though.” Blakely said laughing. “It’s probably just because you’re old though.” Blakely teased. She was still iffy about Umi but she couldn’t help that. Vulcan looked friendly and unthreatening. He also was sweet and made jokes and stuff. Just like any grandpa. Umi looked sincere and stuff. He also was ‘mysterious’. Mysterious people weren’t trustworthy either. For the most part though, he was young. She did not trust young people especially young guys. They were the ones who used and abused. They also were easily drifted away by wealth. Almost every time someone snitched on her it was a male. Blakely looked over everything in the cart. She also planned to buy some clothing and such. To make her look more femine so she couldn’t be accused of being a Traceur. She also wanted to make herself look different so she wouldnt be found easily. “I got everything I need here. I need to buy some hair dye and such. If I decide to stay in this town, I’ll need it.” Blakely said. “So, when you’re done picking up what you need, we should head to some other store. Ales you want to stop back at Umi’s first.” Blakely offered. It was really up to him what they wanted to do. No guy would want to go clothes shopping with a girl.

Asuka walked slowly down the hall, weary for any noise. Not a sound could be heard, save for far-off fighting and the echoing of their footsteps. This unnerved Asuka. He had expected to be met with hostility, but there was only silence in its place. He started to quicken his pace slightly.
It was then that Asuka remembered something, something which was said over the channel. How the Ranger's came out of nowhere, attack and seemingly disappear in a flash. Asuka looked up, directly at the tiles which lined the roof. He concentrated, attentive for any sounds that might escape from the ventilation systems.

"No no, men must accompany the ladies to carry their luggage," Vulcan boldly repeated from memory, "it's how we separate the gentlemen from the men. Besides, I'm sure Umi's doing alright." That was what Vulcan hoped anyway, judging by his injuries, they didn't look too severe, but he probably has more stitches than he could count -- also, they had to worry about trauma to the brain. However, Vulcan needed to wait till he was stable before having their discussion, and hopefully what Umi remembered would be helpful to Vulcan's cause. "Let's finish up here then," Vulcan gestured towards the cashiers, "lets make dinner before Umi wakes up. He'll be surprised!"

Sophia wasn't adept with a sidearm, inside she was feeling the nerves kick in. She had never had actual field experience, and never fired a gun at another human. Sophia was chosen top of her field, at the age of 20, to become the head of intelligence -- she had become a Senator five years later due to her popularity with the CPF high command. The majority of her work was done in her office; the only time she had ever fired a gun was during weapons training, many years ago. "I don't have a good feeling about this..." She whispered through her microphone, switching back to her private channel she had set up earlier, "the briefing room is on the other side of this floor."

Blakely nodded to Vulcan, and scanned over her groceries. ‘Ahh, garlic bread’ she thought, quickly finding it and walking to the register. When everything was paid for and bagged, she quickly grabbed it. Luckily, this bag was not too heavy. “You’re so sweet.” Blakely said beaming. “Well, let’s go. I’ll rush.” Blakely said and lead the way to a clothing store not to far away. Blakely walked into the store and looked around for the women’s section. “This is your last chance to back out.” Blakely teased as she walked to the women’s clothes, looking through dresses and such. “I could never stand clothes like these.” She said looking at a summery dress. She looked around, trying to figure out what clothes she would buy.

"I don't either," Asuka whispered quietly back over the channel, as if breaking the heavy silence was a sin. He kept on walking in a slow, cautious stride, keeping his attention on the roof. He had a feeling that is where the Ranger's would attack from. "...check every corner, shoot every vent, they're coming from every nook and cranny." The unnamed officer's voice repeated in Asuka's head. He could feel a tiny bead of sweat forming on his forehead, which he immediately wiped with the cuff of his blazer.
The far-off sounds of fighting seemed close, yet not a sign of conflict could be seen in the hallway in which they walked. It felt as if fighting was around every corner, though Asuka could see no evidence of it. He quickened his pace ever so slightly, wanting to get out of the silence as soon as possible. The uncanny absence of sound had gotten Asuka on edge.
After a moment more, Asuka dared whispered "We should hurry. I do not want anything popping up on us while we have no cover."

[sorry for not posting, just have writers b... Lack of energy]
"Why not?" Vulcan commented, following slowly behind Blakely, "its not like anyone would belittle you for wearing something like that." He looked around the store, the employees were staring at him like he was an old lecher - although, he probably did look the part. "Sometimes you gotta live a little," he challenged, "try something new for a change. I used to tell Umi and Ray that little quip over and over when they were little."
Umi slowly woke up to the sound of dull humming machines, the room was filled with pieced together medical equipment. Three men stood in the room carefully monitoring the aforementioned machines, making sure there were no oddities in the readings. "Uh..." Umi tried to let out his voice, but it was a little hoarse from dehydration, "w-who are you guys?" "You're awake?" a man spoke up, he was standing in the middle of the group holding what Umi thought to be his chart, "that's amazing! You were injured, we were patching you up. You also lost a lot of blood, so we had to give you a transfusion -- kinda worried us there, you have a rare blood type, but we managed to get some in short notice." "Right... I remember..." Umi felt a sharp pain in his head. "Careful, your brain was rattled with that strike to your chin," the man replied, "how are you feeling?" "Much better than before," Umi replied, still trying to piece together the morning, "don't you own the deli downstairs? You're a doctor?" "Deli owner by day," joked the man, "resistance doctor by night. I guess you could call it freelance work." "I would never guess that. So, what's the verdict? Any permanent damage?" "No, none at all. In fact, you're in tip-top shape, most athletically fit person I've seen so far! A normal person would have taken at least twenty-four hours to recover from such a bad spill." "I get a ton of exercise.... weekly." "I can tell. Now that you mention it, I figured you did when you beat up those debt collectors for the lady down the street a week ago." "Yeah... what happened to the two who were with me?" Umi asked, he was still iffy on what had occurred during his momentary relapses while they dragged him home." "Sent 'em shopping, said they'd be cooking dinner later and needed to get supplies," the man replied, "now you should get some more rest, we'll make sure you'll wake up later." "Uh... thanks?"
-------
Sophia moved forward into the main lobby, this was where all the desk workers handled all the calls and complaints. It was littered with low-lying dividers and computer workstations in the middle. There were large gaps of space which made staying on the outside a bad choice, so venturing into the mess of computers and cheap dividers was the best option not to get shot. "Alright, I'll head first," Sophia whispered into the mic, "I'm not good with a gun so I'll draw their attention to me. You just make sure you shoot them before I get a bullet in my skull." Taking a deep breath, Sophia inhaled and exhaled preparing her nerves for her next move, taking off her high heels, she dashed into the middle of the dividers. A bullet whizzed by her head, and nailed the floor just outside of the mess -- it was a silenced bullet, judging by the trajectory it came from above. "Second floor foyer," Sophia calculated, "near the water cooler to the right."

Asuka barely got into position when Ms. Bard dashed into the rows of trash littered about. Cursing himself silently, Asuka quickened his pace, kneeling down with the rifle balanced on the railing which separated the room from the hallway from which they entered. Lifting his earmuffs, he positioned them over his earpiece, so that he would not be stunned by his own gunshot. Calming his rate of breath, Asuka kept his eyes and ears open, ready to aim and fire as soon as hostiles were spotted.
It was only moments after that when the dull sound of a silenced firearm fired. Asuka could see the hole which was created in its wake. When Ms. Bard's coordinates rang through the earpiece, Asuka was already swerving his rifle to the approximate area. Sophie's coordinates only helped him to find the Ranger faster. Asuka fired, a clear shot which rung out with a loud and deafening bang. The dull thump of the bullet hitting flesh could be heard a fraction of a moment later. 5, Asuka mentally tracked how many shots were left. "Down," Asuka hastily breathed into the mic. He quickly lifted up his rifle and moved a few meters down before taking up position again. That shot could've alerted other hostiles to his location. He placed his eyes into the scope and returned that aiming angle to a neutral position.

Blakely smiled at Vulcan. “Okay.” She said and grabbed two dresses. She then walked to the shorts and grabbed a pair and some lose tank tops, with some other flowy shirts. She also grabbed a pair of flats. “wait here.” Blakely said and quickly tried on the clothing. When she was done, she walked out and scanned the area for the beauty products. ‘I feel sorry for him.’ Blakely thought while throwing her clothing in a small cart. She then walked to the beauty products. She grabbed some makeup and some blonde hair dye, along with some brunet hair dye. Blakely then walked to the counter and paid for everything, grimacing at the lose of money. “I’m ready, let’s go check on Umi.” Blakely was slightly anxious of his well-being. In addition to that, she was crying inside for wasting her money. Who knew when she'd be off the radar enough to get a job.

Danika and Carmela had offed any snipers they could find, although their positions were getting more and more obvious with each kill. It wasn't long before they had to be careful, for shots were coming their way. Danika was barely missed on several occasions. Suddenly she heard Carmela over the phone ..
"Sh*t.." Carmela said, barely over a whisper as she grabbed her shoulder. A bullet was now lodged there, and she felt the warm blood cover her hand. "I'm hit, barely, but enough so.." She said when she heard Danika's concern.
Alli checked on things in her old bomb shelter before heading out again. She decided to pick up a few suppiles at a nearby store. hat was when she saw the old man and girl from earlier. She decided not to sneak around, hiding in plain sight. If they wanted to talk to her, they would. .

Sophia put her ear to the floor, she couldn't hear anything else in the room; perhaps, they had already left the room to regroup -- she listened closely for any vibrations in the cheap carpeting that was placed over the tile floors of the room. She wasn't a hundred percent sure, but maybe there was only one guarding this section. "I'm going to continue forward, cover me," Sophia gripped her pistol, readying it with two hands and peered around the corner of the cubicle she was hiding in. It was hard to see in the mess of machinery, filing cabinets and dividers -- not to mention that the room wasn't brightly lit. Nonetheless, she slowly exited the small section and dashed behind a photo copier laying between two sections -- no one in sight.
---------------
"Yes, let's see how he's doing, I'm actually quite curious," Vulcan made an odd face, tapping his chin like he was imagining Umi's state. Leaving the clothing store, he headed back towards Umi's apartment building. From his view, it stood out the most out of all the buildings in the city district. It was far from being the tallest, but it seemed to be welcoming and not as 'sanitized' like the other buildings in the city. "Bet he's going to like what you're making for dinner," Vulcan smiled at Blakely.

Asuka nodded his head slightly, though he knew Ms. Bard could not see it. He could not afford to take his mind off of his current task, however. He had his rifle aimed a meter above Senator Bard, whom was now walking slowly down the column. This gave him a clear view of Ms. Bard and her surrounding area, hopefully allowing him to see the enemy before they shot.
Then, Asuka noticed that Ms. Bard was steadily getting farther and farther away from him. Though she was still within viewing distance, and still well within shooting distance, Asuka might not be able to see the hostiles before they get to her. In addition, the lack of visible light in the room reduced visibility, especially in some darker corners of the room. "I'm going to follow you, about twenty-five paces behind. The visibility back here is pretty bad." He had not picked a night or thermal scope for this mission, he had no idea he would need it. Slowly, making sure that he would not be noticed, Asuka lifted his WA2000 off the railing and inched slowly into the mess of cubicles and stationary. He stopped at one said cubicle, crawled in, and knelt beside its doorway. He poked his head ever so slightly out of the door, making sure that Ms. Bard was still within his sight.

Blakely followed behind Vulcan. She then noticed the girl from earlier. “Hey, thanks for the help earlier.” She said as she followed behind Vulcan. She looked down as they walked, pretending to be entranced by her jacket. Before she knew it, they were at Umi’s apartment. Blakely opened the door and walked inside, thankful that Umi was in better condition. “Thanks for all the help.” Blakely mumbled in a bashful fashion, looking down the whole time she spoke. She was a bit antsy about the people there and wanted to keep her distance. Blakely headed towards the kitchen and started setting out supplies, avoiding all the other people there. “The little things, you do to me are taking me over, I wanna show ya everything inside of me like a nervous heart that, is crazy beating…” Blakely started singing, allowing herself to get carried away in the music she knew by heart. She twirled around looking for pots and pans and then started the cooking process. It was one of Nathan’s favorite thing about her. Blakely peeked over at Umi, as she had been doing constantly. He’d probably be back in action in a few days. Blakely kept cooking, while singing random songs that popped in her head.
