There is a ding and the doors begin to slide together. That's when A-0080 forces his hands between them and slowly begins to force them open. Garret slides up the wall, a visade of clear determination embedded into his eyes. He mutters, "I'm sick of these damn toys." His right arm becomes encased in a pike of ice and he lunges forward with a triumphant shout. The pike spears through the android's head with a shower of metal and sparks. It starts to raise it's arm up to grab Garret, but it stops when the pike begins to spread over and into the android, freezing it from the inside out. Garret retracts his hand and stares at the robot for a second before pushing it backwards. It slides back harmlessly like a statue on a skate rink and the doors close at last.
The elevator makes the trip to the ground floor without incident, playing cheerful muzak the whole way up. It sounds strangly like the Foo Fighter's "Big Me," but in an annoyingly upbeat plinky way. There is another ding and the elevator opens to give them passage into the main foyer. The front door lays before the teens only a few dozen feet away.

"Come on guys. Make for the door quickly. I'll cover you from the air." She grunted softly as she pushed off the floor and hovered above the rest of her team. "move it, we only have a short time left, and I don't plan on dying today!"

Ako adjusted his grip to hold Gidget closer and tighter to himself before sprinting out of the elevator towards the exit. He didn't need to be told twice, he'd seen too many situations that ended with the heroes failing just before safety. He was dead set on getting away from the building, and getting Gidget out as well.
He still felt bad for accidentally knocking the girl out, but at least her plan had worked, and they were so close to safety now.

Annie stood, nodding, her fists clenched, "I agree with Tansy: today does not seem like a good day to die." It seemed almost too easy, Annie worried as she jogged after Ako to the door, reaching the door after him. She turned back looking around, seeing if they were being followed, almost expecting it...

In the foundry, A-0079's delay timer hits zero. The rods from his body begin to pull in all of the nearby electricity in the air, as well as from the androids that were banging at the elevator door. A siren blares from inside his chassis. He raises his head and cries out as the energy begins to overload his capacitors.
Garret charges the door with his shoulder and holds it open for the others. He notices that something feels odd, yet familiar. "Hey, do you guys feel that? He then feels a strange sensation on his arms. He looks down at them and sees that the hairs on his arms are standing on end, like he had just rubbed his feet across a wool blanket. He looks to Ako with a worried expression, "Man, I hope you're the one doing this."

Ako shook his head with his own worried expression. "It ain't me. We need to move. Fast. The robot's about to blow." He said as he ran out of the exit. Being more attuned to the electricity than the others, he knew the trouble they were in.

Following, Ako's lead, Annie rushed out of the exit onto the sidewalk outside of the building. She rubbed her arms, remembering that in all the excitement she no longer had her coat. Her brown eyes watched the building, waiting for the results of Gidget's self destructing robot.

Just as the teens make their tumultuous escape from the HQ of their now sworn enemy, clear arcs of red lightning can be seen racing along the building in an upward direction. The arcs reach the top and for a moment there is silence. The ground begins to shake beneath them, quiet at first but soon it turns into something akin to an earthquake. The rumble makes it's way to the surface and a grand series of explosions, starting from the bottom floor, race up to the top of the skyscraper.
As large chunks debris begin to fall from the sky, Garret can see that where they are standing isn't safe in the slightest. Looking behind him he notices that there is a slight downhill slope on the street perpendicular to the building. Mustering the last of his energy he shouts to the others, "Slide!" He then throws both of his arms out and creates a chute made of ice for them to escape on. He hops onto it and slides down on his feet, keeping his arms out to keep the chute going.

Tansy dodged and weaved threw the flying chunks of building. Coughed as she flew higher, smoke filling up her lungs. Her eyes were burning. She hovered for a moment and flapped her wings with all of her might, pushing away from of the smoke. A smile came to her lips as she dove down and through the smoke. "KEEP MOVING!" She called to her team below. She could hear sirens. She flew closer to the group. "Uh.. unless we plan on being a televised freak show we better use this smoke for cover to get out of here before the cameras find us."

Ako jumped onto the ice chute without missing a beat, not bothering to try and skate while holding Gidget. He decided instead to sit with his legs out before him, left leg folded under the right, which he kept outsretched for stability.

Following, Annie jumped onto the slide Garret made, sliding swiftly down the slope with the others. "Yeah, that sounds like a really good idea," said Annie to Tansy. "I've had enough of being locked up for 'observation' already. Where are we going to head now?"

Garret banks the chute into a small alley and then makes a large upward arc to halt their slide. He scoots up the arc and hops onto the pavement. Allowing a few seconds to take a breather, he places his hands on his knees and sighs, "Gidget mentioned something about having an older brother. Does anyone know where the guy lives?"

Tansy shrugged. "No idea. we'll have to wait until she wakes up. So for now, lets move ourselves into the ghetto." She wrinkled her nose at the idea. " I doubt Charles owns that part of town."
Lilith screamed as one of the building down the street from them suddenly exploded. Smoke quickly rose and began to float down through the air. She coughed somewhat and covered over her mouth. "What on earth?" She said softly. "I hope your friends weren't over there...."

Annie nodded, smiling, "I very much doubt anyone owns any part of the ghetto." She took a deep breath, "There's an abandoned building about five blocks from here that is probably near the beginnings of the ghetto... I've gone there for a fashion photography shoot in my last semester's photography class..."

Ako had used the force on his leading leg at the end of the slide to stand up, like a baseball player sliding into a base. In his head he finally thanked his parents for forcing him to play when he was younger. As he stepped off of the ice he realized something, while it had given them a quick escape, it had also left a trail straight to them. "Annie, lead the way. We should get somewhere before someone decides to follow our trail."
