"Black is a category, and is a name handed down to the powers which are too strong, too dangerous, and too powerful to exist except for a select few on the council." Kat moved away from the kitchen, hiking up her shirt so she could check the bandage around her midsection. It seemed to be all right, but it was coming due for a change.

"There are those who have powers that can edge on black. Mine is an edger, for instance, considering I can take full control of a person's mind, but since I have to proceed with a kiss that is presumably consensual and the control is limited to a specific amount of time, my power was passed as acceptable. A black wouldn't need the kiss, they'd just take the mind."

Kat turned to a her bag and rummaged around looking for a clean bandage as she talked. "Blacks can insta-kill at a thought, some of them can take out buildings and even cities." She let out a sigh, "Basically they're a little piece of god caught up in a human."

Kat shrugged, "It could be part of his power and he has some ability to go unnoticed...or he could be one of the Eva group, and just barely developed his gift. We won't know until he tells us. And we won't get to run into him until the morning I'm assuming." Kat glanced around at the apartment. "We still need to figure out sleeping arrangements as well."

She glanced around, "Adam would do fine on the small couch, Rook, you could take the larger one. I'm assuming Maya or Roxanna will be taking the bed as you're too sacrifice-happy, Jarred. I'll take the floor, considering I got spoiled with a bed last night." Kat turned back to her bandage, managing an odd juggling act as she tried to hold her shirt up and tried to take the old bandage off while holding the new bandage as well.

Kat accepted the help with a smile, "bullet hole, not holes. And I will be just fine. We picked up some extra blankets at the store, and I've slept in far worse conditions before."

"Polite is saying please and thank you, Rook." Kat said, holding her shirt up while he worked with the bandage. She smiled at him, still more cheery than usual. "Although I appreciate the thought, you don't have to go out of your way to be kind to me."

"Well, sounds like someone we should get to. Marcus Shipp you said?" Jarred started loaded in the fridge. "He sounds familiar. If he's someone important, he's more at risk."

"Hell." He said, loading the milk in.
The door bell rang and he went to it, checking it before he opened it, and payed the pizza boy.

"Roxanna, would you know where he lives?" He said, setting the pizzas down on a table.

Rook chuckled, and smiled.
"Fine, fine... I'll take the couch. Next time I say we do rock, paper, scissors." He turned back to Roxanna and Jarred, "Of course he has outrageous security. The Black always has to have an unhealthy amount of minions to back him."
