"Okay." Alek rubbed his hands together as he left from his very last stop. Noticing how dirty his reflection looked made the cattaur grimace. With one quick look around Alek disappeared behind another shop and came out looking very wet, but cleaner.
Sizzling the whole way, Alek ran up to the inn and pushed open the squeaking door. "They really should oil those hinges." He muttered before letting it shut behind him. Now where was Ashierra? With ease Alek headed past the little hallway that led to the room with the steps. "Hellooo~! Is there an Ashy in the house somewhere?" He grinned as he peeked towards his companion.

Flicking her ears at the squeaky door, Ashierra turned to look at who was coming in, a small smile coming unprompted to her face. "Over here." She padded over to the male, holding his bag out to him. "Do you see those two?" She asked, looking back at the appreciative male who was retreating back to his table. "They said... they said thanks, for getting rid of the naga. And most likely, the bandits as well." She crossed her arms over her chest, looking off to the side bashfully. "It felt kind of nice to be thanked."

"Aye." Alek walked playfully over towards Ashierra and brushed his tail against her's as he took his bag from her. "Hmm? Oh, they did?" Alek blinked and gave a small smile. "It does." He chuckled, a low purr in his throat as he kissed her cheek. "And you definitely deserve thanks."
His hand reached for her hand after he tossed the bag of coins to the innkeeper who gave a smile at the two cattaurs. "I'm glad though. At least there's some who recognize help when it comes." Alek shook his head with a soft, bitter laugh. "Anyways, I'm ready to be off. You still insisting on following me?" He raised an eyebrow inquiringly though his gaze was light, "I tread pretty dangerous paths after all. Any sane taur would think twice about this."

Ashierra smiled at the affectionate kiss, her eyes sliding to the side at his praise. Everyone seemed to think she had actually done something... As harsh as becoming a victim had been, she was starting to see what she had actually done to help end the fight. Her hand gave Alek's a light squeeze, smirking slightly. "Hey, I don't follow. I can't help it if you keep going the same ways I go." She slipped her hand from his grasp, padding confidently to and through the door, her paws tickling in the sparse grass at the well used entrance and face up at the lowering sun. Still plenty of light left.

Alek chuckled at Ashierra's reply. That was just like her. "Ah magnetic compulsion." He whispered while following her through the doorway and out into the sunlight. Looking at the roads made the cattaur purr. Though being able to stay under a roof every now and then was nice the travel was far better to him.
"Anywhere you go, I'll go." Alek commented leaning against the outer wall of the gate. "Since we got that settled, care to get going somewhere?" He asked with a grin.

Outside, a small flush tried to spread on Ashierra's face, but she shook it off. The smile wouldn't leave though. 'And I'll follow you. Anywhere.' She thought to herself, a flutter in her chest at the thought. She never would have guessed this would happen anytime soon, but it had. ...She had to make sure she kept a hold of herself. She glanced back at Alek, shaking her head at his nonchalant posture. "Can't get anywhere if you're going to lean against that wall all day." The cattaur laughed, bounding off down the road to the village edge, intent to get on down and off the mountain. She had hoped to see Jade once more... But if things were as they seemed, they would meet again.

"Oiy now. This wall is very comfortable." Alek nodded playfully before pushing himself off of the wall with an exaggerated yawn, "Well that was nice while it lasted." His mouth stretched into a grin though as he bolted after Ashierra.
"In a hurry, Ashy?" Asked Alek as he caught up with a laugh. "Someone would think that your tail is on fire!" His tail flicked playfully at her's, sending a spark, before he pulled on ahead and raced around a curve in the road.

Ashierra used Alek's spark to start a rope of fire that twirled around her tail. "How did you guess?" She joked, allowing herself to fall ever so slightly behind the male. Her guilty pleasure of watching the male's muscles stretch and relax and contract underneath his fur and skin... wasn't feeling so guilty anymore. But then he pulled ahead more than she had intended. Darn his good looks! Her own thought made her laugh as she rounded the curve, hot on Alek's heels.

**Time skip! Couple weeks-ish~**
Padding down an impromptu path, green grass tickling her paws, Ashierra caught herself daydreaming again. She was supposed to be hunting for a snack. As of late, she had been daydreaming more and more, mostly of the male she traveled with. Her affections for him had grown even deeper and more seated, causing images of fancy to float through her mind when she wasn’t concentrating. How embarrassing… A rustle in the brush drew her attention back to her current goal. Food. She crouched down, grinning at the scent of some large rodent, and launched through, quickly snatching up a beaver. Holding it in her clutches, she paused to stare at it before even killing it, wavering at the unusual rodent. What in the isles was it?! She held it by the scruff and back haunches, intrigued by the flat tail and wary of the large rabbit-esque teeth that it currently was gnashing at her. It wasn’t a rabbit though… The tail held the most of her attention. Was it a swimmer perhaps? Or maybe it was a defense? She furrowed her brow as she thought about the curious critter as it tried to wriggle from her grasp, completely distracted from killing it by her curiosity.

Yawning Alek trudged over to the small clearing with another load of firewood. Stacking the wood just right, Alek paused and checked the balance once more before lighting the wood with a sweep of his tail. "Looks good."
He smiled before looking back around. Ashierra had left to get some sort of food, but was it just him worrying or was she taking longer than what she should be? Frowning the male sat down by the fire and began to poke it. "I'll give her a couple more minutes before I go off and look. I mean I'm sure she's fine. Definitely. It'd be silly of me to worry because she's fine." He muttered watching the flames that licked playfully at his fingers.
Less than a minute later, Alek stood and went searching for her.

Not noticing how long she had been standing there staring at the unknown creature, Ashierra had looked over just about every inch of her discovery. Not appreciating the inspection, the beaver was by now hissing regularly, still trying to bite her hand every time it came close to it's reach. Her tail flicked as she looked around, snapping out of her revere. She was supposed to be catching dinner... She didn't want to kill this thing just yet though, for whatever reason. It would have been easier to look at it dead, but... Maybe Alek would know what it is? She'd feel better if she figured out what it was first though. Slowly, she turned back the way to the little camp they had chosen, her steps slow and distracted.

"Jeez, Ashierra." Alek exhaled as he noticed her walking towards him. Though she did seem distracted. Frowning the male tried to focus on what it was that she was carrying. Was it alive? By the way that Ashierra held it and by the way it moved he was pretty sure that it was.
The question was why was it still alive?
Alek was curious. After all he didn't seem to ever remember Ashierra keeping any prey alive like this. Maybe he was mistaken, but she didn't seem like the type to let loose her prey. "Ashierra!" Getting closer Alek stepped over some bushes and waved to her as he walked to her side. "What are you doing?" He finally asked.

Ashierra flicked her ears up. What was Alek doing out here? The scent of a fire reached her, not too far away. Had she already wandered so close back to the camp? She looked at the beaver, at Alek, at the beaver, and blushed. What was she doing? "Um... I don't know..." She held up the wiggling critter for Alek to see. "I was wondering if you knew what it was..." Did she sound as stupid as she thought she sounded? Why did it matter what the darn thing was? They were going to eat it!

"You want to know what it is?" Alek frowned as his looked closely at the beaver. Such a strange animal. It was so odd that he couldn't name it automatically. Was it an otter, a mink, a weasel? No none of those. But something was starting to register in the back of his mind.
A childhood memory of going out into the woods and hiking to a lake...a pile of sticks that floated on the water's edge. Strange creatures that peeked out with their huge teeth that helped them to gnaw on wood. His mother telling him their names.
"What is that strange thing, mum?"
"I think they call it a..."
"Beaver." Alek looked at Ashierra and nodded, "I think that's what it is. A beaver. They build the dams along the water and live there." He grinned at Ashierra and reached over to take the animal, "I know you wanted a snack. But should we eat this guy? Though I've never had beaver before."

Ashierra cocked her head. "Beaver." She had heard of those! This was her first time seeing one though. She quickly allowed Alek to take the beaver, putting her hands behind her back like an ashamed child. It was so silly to have not just killed it like usual. "It's up to you." She offered, looking off to the side. Despite the beaver having been trying to bite her the entire time, she had grown to think it, well... cute. A bit of rustling in the distance caught her ears, but not her attention, still trying to figure out the beaver.
