The first of many boulders fell with ease from his furious apathy. He saw another series of boulders approach him and the trail he was bound to protect. Well, not as much protect as happen to be guarding while I get to practice on rocks. He tried to remain focused, holding his fists to his chest like a boxer. As the boulder appeared, he gave a swift succession with his blades and hoped it would shatter or something entertaining.

The boulder did not shatter, in fact it remained intact. 'Have I ever told you about the story of the river serpent and the old man?' the voice chortled to itself, which in itself brought up far more questions as to how synced were they. "Shut up..." Karnage said aloud. But he was right, he had gotten lazy. But this was no time to over think this, another rock approached. He sent a swift series of blows, cuting directly into the middle.

The boulder fell in two even parts to either side of him. He remained vigilant, casting his attention on the field as the collection of other boulders fell around him. He had to stay focused, he would not allow himself to be distracted by his own lack of interest in saving human lives. He saw another rock of decent size falling down the side, and with a jolt he gave the boulder a strike into the over sized rock.

Even though Raisuke's idea seemed like a good one, it was apparent that it had flaws. The ground was more rock then soil. And that should have been noticeable to him. Was something wrong? Was he just not on his game today? Whatever the case was, he still need to do something to stop these rocks, he needed to finish the trench and that's all there was to it. He lifted his knee as high as he could and slammed it down against the crack. He got the angry anime eyes, then jumped up and down along the crack in anime style fury. Making some of it crumble off down into the water.
He noticed that one boulder had gained too much momentum and made it down to him already. He knew he could get out of the way so he just tried to walk away from it. But wait... s**t, his foot was stuck in the stupid narrow crack. He couldn't move. And..... WHACK. The boulder ran straight into him, yet it still didn't move him. He was halfway knocked out after that one. (Expression: x.x)

The rock smashed under the strength of his strike, and a slow surge of satisfaction jolted through Karnage's spine. It was swift, but delectable. He focused himself again, noting that remain stoic and not react solely for that just yet. 'Shesh, what's the big deal? So a few boulders crush som houses... That is why they invented serfs... to rebuild the homes of people with souls...' the voice said, now bored with no Karnage to torment. Karnage ignored his voice, and again gave a powerful thrust into an oncoming rock.

Again the rock fell to rubble under his fists, which we starting to hurt now from doing nothing but punch rock. He shook his hands for a second to shake off the pain, and returned to his fighting stance. He focused on the next oncoming bolder and set his sights on smashing this one into even smaller pieces by breaking it at 4 different points.

Raisuke's daze would last a little while. After all that boulder had hit him pretty damned hard. He was lucky that it just had temporarily took some of his consciousness instead of breaking bones. It didn't last as long as it should though, Rai always had resolve to finish things. He would slam his blade into the ground beside his foot, breaking enough earth away to escape. This made him realize that using his blade was probably the only way to make this trench in time.
Rai ran down to the closest end of that rift. He thought for a second on what to do about. It didn't take to long and he had it. He stepped over a little ways and jammed his blade into the ground. Then he started to run an angled line, crossing the other slash line right in the center. He had made a fairly large hourglass pattern in the ground. Then his free hand was seen going into his tools pouch. Putting something back in there.

Raisuke would then bring up his ninjato, only to swirl it in his hand so the blade was facing downward. Twisting his wrist as he did so, he would slide the blade back into its sheathe. He had a look on his face that spoke volumes of confidence. Like he though he was already done with the trench. Just starting to walk away, after a while he formed a single handed sign of the ram. "Kassei" He muttered. It was now obvious that it was his remaining tags he had put away. And sure enough, an explosion sent dust and pebbles flying. The trench would be huge, but atleast sufficient. His work here was done.

Again the rock shattered, this time with more precision than the last. Karange almost smirked in his pride, but knew this was his folly. He was too eager to pat himself on the back after an achievement. He sighed, maybe he would find relief of this vice through this venture. 'But not likely...' the voice said, with a glint of truth in his words. He focused on the next rock.

The rock fell to rumble beneath his knuckles. This was beginning to feel dull, which would require something to intrigue Karnage less he finds himself dragging his feet to saving people. Which didn't seemed that bad to him, but he would get yelled at more. He took off one of his trench knives and decided he wanted to try and punch one into pieces. 'So about that whole theory of boredom equally stupid...' the voice said, acting surprisingly as the voice of reason. Probably for the sole purpose for being the counterpoint of Karn.

The rock shattered from the force of his bare fist. The feel of the boulder was coarse and sent a sliver of pain through his arm. It was enthralling this feeling, all notion of boredom was displaced at this point. It was now a matter of what ways he should finish this activity and how much entertainment he could draw from it. He shook off the pain in his hand and gave a oncoming boulder a swift uppercut combo.

The rock was launched upward, but it did not shatter. That was overall a rather silly idea, and he had very little faith in how that would work. The voice was to shut up, that was his first thought on the matter. His second was to not think about it so much, and to remain focused on the matter of smashing these rocks. He ready his leg and gave the falling rocks a series of swift kicks.
