Heron continues to chop the carrots as he looks up to Naelonni. "Hey Nay Nay, what other sorts of vegetables do you think they'd li-ACK"Dropping the knife and yanking his left hand back he looks down at his index finger. As soon as he saw the avulsion he knew what he had done. While distracted he kept on cutting and managed to nearly slice off flesh from his finger. He places the wound to his lips and sucks on it at the same time turning around trotting quickly to the pale of water he had just defrosted. He sticks his hand into the pale and mutters under his breath, "Stupid stupid stupid." Without removing his hand he turns his head to his sister, "This water is still freezing, do you think you could heat it up a bit. Gah, I'm going to have to make more for Kae'dryn after this. Oh damn, did I get blood on the carrots?"

A beautiful roaring scream, of joy and sorrow so extreme...Ky's little cough after mentioning how well they "slept" brought a rather pleased smile to her lips. Yes... yes it had definitely been a good morning thus far. She watches the commander subtly as the woman speaks. The accent was strange, and certainly not one that Talise could readily remember. She welcomed the mystery. So many interesting new companions to watch and unravel. She might be on a mission, but at least she would be enjoying herself.
The faint exasperation in Asmyrra's tone and the slight hints of body language also brightens Tali's mood. At least this commander person seemed to have a sense of humor. "Likewise with me and "Lady". I couldn't ever be confused with one of those." She replies, sending a teasing glance to Ky.
"And as far as my alternative transportation idea goes... that is all going to depend on if we can find my source. We'll need to head to the Dalelands as soon as possible if we want any chance of catching up her to. She usually makes trips there around this time of year."
There is a love in me raging. A joyous, magical feeling...

I have to stay focused on keeping this pot hovering over the heat rock or it will fall. I'm so sorry..." Nay Nay tells him with deep regret. It was such an odd little pot to begin with, she could only imagine how difficult it would be to replace. This coupled with the fact that they had already put a rather large crack in their new instructor's counter top helped her resolve to remain concentrating at the task at hand.
"Here, use one of the dish rags to stop the bleeding and come over here to me where I can take a look at you." She tells him, tossing one of the folded rags on the counter in his direction.

Urban Thorne
Lightly lacing her arm in Aerith's, she led them back out of the study. Deft steps made their way down the short hallways and stairs leading to the kitchen, passing the various statues, tapestries, and other such artworks gathered to decorate the interior of her tower. Past the various lamps, down the exotic carpets, and under the strange, almost machine-like contraptions dangling from various points, she finally came to a pause just out of sight from the interior of the kitchen, offering a faintly conspiratory smile to Aerith as she listened to the activities inside... Having recounted the events in the kitchen to Ishtarelm, Aerith headed downstairs with her teacher on her arm. She had known that Relm would not be terribly upset with the counter incident. It was nothing that they could not be fixed. Besides, Aerith knew that their instructor always gleaned a particular pleasure in watching the mortified reactions of her younglings when such mishaps occurred. Standing now just outside the kitchen door, she couldn't help but return the smile offered by her older instructor. It was so rare for the younglings to see this side of their teacher. Beneath the aloof exterior and ancient wisdom the woman possessed, there was a well established sense of humour. Usually people were too busy trying to keep up or impress the woman to realise that impish persona was watching them behind those unfocused golden eyes. She seemed to especially take pleasure in breaking in the newbies. Aerith was starting to discover a certain interest in it as well. She remembered when it was her fumbling around in the new tower, knowing her fate rested was precariously balanced against her ability not to screw things up. The thought caused her smile to widen, and she continued to quietly listen to the antics of the inhabitants of the kitchen.

Still muttering under his breath he stands and brings his injury into view of his sister, keeping the rag underneath his hand to catch any blood. "Gah, I can't believe I did that. I wasn't even nodding off or anything."

Despite their having fun at his expence, Ky manages to keep a pleasant look about him. For years he has been criticised for the way he conducts himself. Yet he was not about to be swayed from what he thought was the proper etiquette for a knight and a gentleman (he had noticed more than once that the two rarely go hand in hand anymore). Chuckling to himself he addresses Tali, "I am quite eager to see what this mode of transportation is. Unless this woman you speak of is some form of mage who can transport beings from one point to another; the only other possible way for it to be faster than riding on horseback would be for us to sprout wings and fly."

Rosso continued to eye this strange person with extreme dubiousness for a moment, those mismatched eyes flaring faintly as he made the shushing motions... calm down, indeed. She'll show him "calm down". But as he offered his apology, and the following reasons why he'd come pesting her... a couple twitches of the nose, a continued sidelong dubious look, and a long sip of her "cocoa" marked her deciding exactly what to do with this fellow...
"...you say, you knew gypsies. Most gypsies are... erm... Elves. Mmm, Elves," she stated, nodding vigorously to herself. "Why not ask them? Better... ehm.... better chance, Rosso thinks. Most other Elves, nooooooo talk much, nope."
As she finished, a sudden light appeared in those mismatched eyes, like some thought occurring to her. That sidelong look went from dubious-suspicious to warily curious as she ventured forth a hint of those thoughts...
"...and you say, knew gypsies. How long ago, and where...?

A faint smile curved those darkened lips as Asmyrra listened to Ky's quip about sprouting wings. After all, for those rare few that were strong enough in the Weave, wings were quite unnecessary... though the effort of flight usually precluded it from being a viable, and typical, form of transportation. Not that she had any intention of disclosing such things... the people of the Iron Fist, let alone the Paladin's Rod, often eyed her workings in askance or carefully veiled distrust, and simply leaping from the ground and soaring away would be a little... obvious...
Instead, she dismissed the amusement and mental images from her thoughts, those slanted orbs looking back to the party arrayed around her. "Well, since the Dale-lands are towards the borders of the 'civilized' lands and the Wilds, where we'll find the Elves, I see no reason we cannot travel that way first," Asmyrra began, her tone starting thoughtful... and quickly shifting to strained as she continued. "Make sure you've everything you'll need for a long journey, and meet at the northern end of camp when ready to depart."
By the time she'd reached the last part of her words, Asmyrra had already been fumbling within her sleeve for that cloth again, her words concluding with her turning away from them. Cloth was hurriedly pressed to her lips as the coughing fit she'd been trying to avoid demonstrated that it would be ignored no longer...

Even though she was paying attention to Heron, she was also being very careful to make sure the wok continued to hover at an acceptable height above the heat rock.
She takes another look at Heron's wound and shakes her head. "Wash it good and wrap it up with a clean cloth... tight. You will need your strength for future tests from the Kae'dryn. I mean... she can't possibly be done with us today. I'm sure there is more to come before bedtime."
Giving him an encouraging smile, she offers him another clean rag. "It looks like the veggies were spared of any splatter. Once you clean up, we'll finish this dinner and hopefully show the Kae'dryn how sorry we are for cracking her counter top!"

I'm sorry for my sudden silence, but I have found myself lured into a rather interesting development here. This could mean my next trip could possibly be delayed. Something has... come up.. and I must attend. Hopefully it will not take too long, but I can not be sure. The situation here could possible escalate into a much more time consuming project than I would like. If it were not for the high chances of a rather enticing reward at the end, I would simply dismiss it...
You understand, don't you?

Never mistake tears for sadness... Eva watched with a strange sense of satisfaction as the coughing fit ensued, reassured that the witch could be hurt even if she had avoided death. That probably had more to do with Johannes than her own strange magic. Eva mused for a moment on that though her gaze continued to follow the ailing commander. This...trip, whatever its purpose, would serve her own purposes well. Even if it did mean having to consort with elves. A small frown formed on her lips then as she wondered what her so-called kin were like. She had wondered this before when she had thought of her father but this had been long ago. The thought of her father had not wandered her mind for some time. Eva had dim recollections of her mother, at least. Of her father she knew nothing, except his race. That fact had been made well known to her first by the villagers then, later, by the priests who raised her and the other orphans. It occured to her that elves, like humans, might look down on half-breeds, but it hardly bothered her anymore. Eva had long grown used to others thinking little of her though she did, from time to time, use the hood of her cloak or some other device to better blend in to a crowd. "I would ask if I could, ah, procure a mount here or later on? I do not relish carrying supplies for that long of a trek on my own back, but if I must..." Eva shrugged carelessly, her tone strictly respectful even if the tone was strained. She would play her part her with as much skill as she could muster but as for thinking of this... woman as her commander was almost insulting. ...that will only bring you grief.

I am a leaf on the wind... Heron takes the extra cloth and returns to the pale he was washing his hand in earlier. Using the already soiled cloth he scrubs the wound, wincing at the biting pain. Not only did the cut itself hurt, but he still hadn't managed to figure out how to adjust the temperature of water. Once he was satisfied that the wound was as clean as it was going to get he wraps it with the new cloth and returns to his counter. Sighing with relief at the fact that the vegetables were spared his life blood, he couldn't help but wonder if Kae'dryn wasn't watching from her study and laughing at him.

"...and you say, knew gypsies. How long ago, and where...? ___Azen chugged down the last few sips of ale left in his cup. As he put down his now empty mug, the knight shook his head as he let out a light sigh. "I am well aware that the elves would not talk much, especially to a human. I still have to try though." He replied, looking straight in front of him, facing the bar. "As for the gypsies... I actually only knew one, and I have no clue where she would be right now." He continued. ___Asgard turned his head to look at Domini again, perking an eyebrow at her sudden interest. He turned his body to her and crossed his arms, tilting his head lightly to the right as he remembered when and where he had met the said gypsie. "Hm. Well, we met a few months ago, in the Northwestern forest. A very nice lady, she is. We didn't get to hang around eachother very long, but the time spent with miss Tali was rather plesant, and quite enough to consider her a good friend." He recalled, his eyes at the corner of his orbits, looking up at the ceiling. The man's neck straightened and his gray orbs rolled down to Rosso's mismatched eyes. "Why do you ask?"

He began to wonder if it was a good idea to bring her along on this journey. He quickly dismissed that doubt after reminding himself that it was Lord Johannes whom had decided she accompany them. Never the less he couldn't ignore the fact that she hadn't made a full recovery. "I will fetch one of the medics. This must be tended to before we depart."

Asmyrra offered no immediate response to Ky's comment, her attentions focused on channeling healing energies where they were needed. As the wracking cough slowly stilled, however... a faint shake of her head was offered, her thick accent muffled slightly by the cloth still pressed over her lips.
"...our medics can do nothing more than has already been done. No, attend to our supplies, and I shall meet you at the assigned location..."
And with that, Asmyrra slowly started to make her way towards the northern end of camp, each metered step counting a carefully controlled breath. This was definitely going to be a long journey...
