And the reconstruction continued, even as plots and plans were made. The people of Lament were most helpful and were getting paid much more than their original trades were. Not to mention they were proud to work on the town they were born in, which seemed to be in dire need of an upgrade.
It'd take damn near inside of a year and a half in order to get the whole of the Outer City alone to the desired state, much less half of it. Still, the work continued tirelessly. They weren't getting paid for nothing, after all.

Darshendros the Eternal She would appear as nothing more than a wisp of grey mist, easily mistakable for a puff of smoke. Under normal circumstances, a grey mist or puff of smoke might not have been taken as much of a threat, however, it was rather strange to have seen a woman APPEAR in a puff of smoke, and then tell her off, only to soon see a puff of smoke extremely similar to this heading back towards the gates as if moving by its own free will. Now THAT would cause some problems and raise quite a bit of suspicion. A couple guards would fire off their light rounds, aiming to attack the mist with the light/holy elemental properties. If there was any darkness of undead in Lillith or any dark or unholy magic causing her to hold her gaseous form, the light rounds would explode in a powerful blast of light/holy energy, doing enormous ammounts of damage to her. Even if the rounds didn't effect her, several other guards had been drawn to the cloud by the weapons fire and had reported its existance to troops on the inside of the city, who would track the cloud until its creator could be dealt with.

Ryugi Kazamaru A couple guards would fire off their light rounds... And they would go right through her without harm. It was as if they were shooting air, which they technically were. Lilith was as alive and mortal as they were, and the spell she used was a mid-level transmutation that changed her body into a gaseous state. Nothing dark or evil about it. The grey mist that was Lilith continued floating by, disappearing past the wall. Moving down alleys and around shadowy corners, Lilith swiftly made her way toward the Underground. Noticing she was being followed, however, she took some measures to evade pursuit, seeping into ventilation shafts or hiding behind large objects. She only had a few hours left on her spell though, so she couldn't keep this up for long. She needed to make it to the crypt. Note to self, she thought, Ask Valas for one of his rings of teleport.

Guards would continue to trail her as she moved about the city, keeping in contact with eachother via radio. There was only one way to make it into the Underground from the surface, and that was by use of the elevators, also surrounded by guards. The elevators were only able to be activated on the surface and in the underground, meaning unless the guards decided to activate the elevators to allow Lillith through, she wasn't going anywhere...

Air had to get down there from the surface somehow, unless the residents of the Underground were really just prisoners and nobody cared. Why else would there be such limited access? Lilith floated around the backdoor of a clothing shop, coming out of the spell after slipping into a dressing room. She came out of it, acting as if she'd been there the entire time, grabbing a plain white dress and taking it back into the dressing room to try it on. Or so it appeared. She took an extra set of clothes from her travelpack - a white linen shirt with a leather bustier and long skirt - putting those on and placing the robes she had been wearing into her pack, and letting her hair down. She slung the pack around her shoulders and took the dress up to the counter to pay for it, hoping they took the standard gold for payment.

"I wish I had one of those orb thingies," Red said aloud, going through the stuff Eri had left behind, "Geez, you think that bird lady could have left behind something useful."
Her stomach rumbled.
"Why now?" gonk
There was no food in this fleabag inn, and traveling on a budget meant she hadn't brought much of anything with her, even an MRE would have been desirable, but she hadn't considered that a need. Restaurants and malls would be closed because of the lockdown most likely, but even if she could go she only had about four credits. A wrinkled stick of gum lay on the counter, its silvery aluminum wrapping sliding opening slightly at both edges. It was somewhat tempting, as it was the only slightly edible thing in the room. She stared at it, her compulsive side wanting to take it, her cautious side warning her against it. She sniffed it, it smelt a little stale, but still had a sugary mint scent.
"What the hell am I thinking, it could be a trap."
She went around the room and gathered up the scattered things, putting them back in the bag, the gum went in a neat plastic container. The spell book stayed with her though, she put it in a back pocket of her trench coat. She checked her pockets, she had a total of about 17.34 in her name after counting the loose change. She'd go and see if someplace, anyplace, was open nearby to get a bite to eat. The cheap inn which she was staying at only served beer and liquor, and she had no tolerance for the stuff. She needed food, but grabbed a handfull of peanuts from the counter on the way out just in case nothing else could be found.

Suspect is Drow, and female when in solid state. Be on the lookout for a smokey cloud of vapors as well as the suspect has been seen in this form as well." The radios of the guards in the area lit up with security alerts as Lillith's movement was tracked around the city by various groups of guards on patrol. When under the lockdown, every guard became a part of an information web, allowing them to follow the reports of every other member of the guard to keep an eye on criminals and coordinate their movements. A group of 15 guards would move and surround the shop that Lillith had entered, taking up positions all over the building and its exits. Alright! Everyone out of the shop! That an order! Exit with your hands where we can see them! Get a move on!As the guard gave the order, the people began to leave the shop, their hands above their heads and in plain view. As each person exited, they were checked by a guard for any sign of magical items or anything else that could be considered dangerous. Bags were searched and when cleared were returned to their owners. Lillith was surrounded, and the only way she was getting out was through the guard patrols, or by getting seen on her way out of the building...

When or if she turned she'd see a tall man with bright green eyes, and black hair. He was wearing a black Lamentian Guard Uniform complete with hat and white gloves. And at his side, he wore the sheath of a weapon he had recieved from Evan White, the CEO of Raven Industries. This was Colonel Nathaniel Briggs, and the man who had negotiated the contract between RI and Lament. You seem to be distressed about something.

This was quite the predicament Lilith was in. This would have been easily remedied if she had any spells that could change her form, but Lilith wasn't a wizard. Still, she had the next best thing, and as she walked out behind the other patrons, she whispered a spell under her breath, casting it before the last person in front of her went through the door. Quote: Ethereal Jaunt Transmutation Level: Clr 7, Sor/Wiz 7 Components: V, S Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: Personal Target: You Duration: 1 round/level (D)
You become ethereal, along with your equipment. For the duration of the spell, you are in a place called the Ethereal Plane, which overlaps the normal, physical, Material Plane. When the spell expires, you return to material existence.
An ethereal creature is invisible, insubstantial, and capable of moving in any direction, even up or down, albeit at half normal speed. As an insubstantial creature, you can move through solid objects, including living creatures. An ethereal creature can see and hear on the Material Plane, but everything looks gray and ephemeral. Sight and hearing onto the Material Plane are limited to 60 feet.
Force effects and abjurations affect an ethereal creature normally. Their effects extend onto the Ethereal Plane from the Material Plane, but not vice versa. An ethereal creature can’t attack material creatures, and spells you cast while ethereal affect only other ethereal things. Certain material creatures or objects have attacks or effects that work on the Ethereal Plane.
Treat other ethereal creatures and ethereal objects as if they were material.
If you end the spell and become material while inside a material object (such as a solid wall), you are shunted off to the nearest open space and take 1d6 points of damage per 5 feet that you so travel. There one minute, gone the next. The guards wouldn't see her, and would probably assume she was still inside hiding. Whatever they thought, she would move right through them, undetected on the most part, and be on her way. This was becoming a little more stressful than she anticicpated. It wasn't this hard the first time. At least the guards didn't have any real good description of her, other than being a female drow, which still wasn't truly accurate. She was only half-drow. Hiding around a corner, she kept an eye on the elevator. Surely people had to move in and out from the place, one way or another. Even poor people travelled. Lilith would wait for someone to come along and use the elevator, and when someone did she would hitch a ride down.

Unfortunately for Lillith, she'd be waiting for a very, very, VERY, long time. The elevators were currently not in use. At all. They had been set for use only in the most extreme of emergencies since using them would give an enemy time to enter deeper into the Underground. There were dozens of guards around the elevator area. All of them highly alert and looking for any sign of trouble. Groups of patroling guards continued to march around the area as well.
"This is recon team Lambda. The target is NOT in the store. Be on the lookout for any suspicious activity. Assume potent magical usage and stay alert. Over."
It seemed that for the time being she'd evaded the guards that had spotted her, but now the entire city was on lookout for someone that matched her appearance. There were no registered Drows in Lament since they were a very private group of people. Mostly humans lived in the city, with a few rarities coming in from time to time. Lillith's time was short...

Desperate means called for desperate measures. In this case, after waiting for a while and seeing nobody using the elevator - which made Lilith start to wonder if the residents of the Underground really were prisoners - she took matters into her own hands, walking through the flank of guards and the elevator doors to step inside of it. Dropping her etherealness, she pushed the button to send the elevator down, waving to the guards startled by the sudden activation of the elevator. She wasn't fool enough to think there'd be nobody down below waiting for her. She was pretty sure the elevator would be just as heavily guarded on the surface as it would be underground. Lilith chanted a spell, making some gestures with her hands, and surrounded herself in a pale aura of light. Quote: Sanctuary Abjuration Level: Clr 1, Protection 1 Components: V, S, DF Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: Touch Target: Creature touched Duration: 1 round/level Saving Throw: Will negates Spell Resistance: No
Any opponent attempting to strike or otherwise directly attack the warded creature, even with a targeted spell, must attempt a Will save. If the save succeeds, the opponent can attack normally and is unaffected by that casting of the spell. If the save fails, the opponent can’t follow through with the attack, that part of its action is lost, and it can’t directly attack the warded creature for the duration of the spell. Those not attempting to attack the subject remain unaffected. This spell does not prevent the warded creature from being attacked or affected by area or effect spells. The subject cannot attack without breaking the spell but may use nonattack spells or otherwise act. She really didn't want to kill anyone, but if she had to she would not hesitate to use her more fatal spells against them. All she wanted to do was get to the crypt in one piece.

The guards were the only ones who could activate the elevators, because they were the only ones who could get the clearance to power them up and make use of them. This wasn't a normal procedure. Usually the elevators were open to any and all that wished to use them, however this was a lockdown, and things were different. Lillith would essentially be trapped in the elevator with nowhere to go.

s**t, she cursed in her head, after pushing the button and finding nothing happening. What the hell kind of system did this city run under? One would think that the elevators worked since there were so many guards surrounding it. If they were the only ones authorized to turn it on, then why post guards? As it was, Lilith found herself locked inside the elevator now, and with no real means of getting out. She had already used up her spells to get this far, and didn't really have any more that could help her evade the guards or shift planes.
Lilith sighed and thought about giving up. This was too much trouble to deal with just to set up a shrine and gather a small following. She sat at the back of the elevator and closed her eyes, falling into quiet prayer, seeking guidance. If this went on for too long, and she started getting hungry, she could always conjure up some food and water to keep her health up.

She turned, hair was tied in a long pony tail that swung behind her. The eagle insignia (Or whatever insignia Lament uses for its colonels) on the uniform would be recognized immediatly. She guessed that he was a colonel of artilary from the way the eagle was designed, but wasn't completely sure of Lament's rank insignias. There were peanuts in her mouth, as she had shoved a big handfull inside and a few were still unchewed. She swallowed so she could speak without being rude, a particularly sharp one scratching her throat on the way down. "No problems Colonel, just on my way to search for a bite to eat," she said, secretly admiring his composure and rugged good looks, "Or will I be shot at for that too?"

She sat at the back of the elevator and closed her eyes, falling into quiet prayer, seeking guidance. If this went on for too long, and she started getting hungry, she could always conjure up some food and water to keep her health up. It was sad really. The guards hadn't seen anyone get into the elevators from the outside, and knew the elevators couldn't have been activated to go down to the Underground without them knowing, so for all intents and purposes, they were none the wiser that Lillith had managed to get into the elevator in the first place. This meant that she'd recieve no outside help in escaping. And to make matters worse, the elevators, while under the lockdown, were strictly off-limits to anyone who was not military personell. This meant that if they opened the elevator, or if she made her presence known, the guards would be forced to take her out with their weapons, as she was in a restricted area, and, as per the lockdown, they were required to terminate any unauthorized target in a military zone. Hopefully Lillith wouldn't starve to death. But if she was undead, that was unlikely, though she might weaken considerably...
