Abel looked at Alice and frowned. "I'm sorry. I didn't know I was being...scary." He glanced at David with an apologetic smile. "Sorry. I mean, what I said is true. But I guess only if you eat sweet stuff in extreme excess. Which I am sure you won't. I never did, my teeth turned out just fine. Especially considering that when..." He stopped and then looked to the side, then back again. "Considering where I lived didn't have all the pleasant things you have. But you'll be fine." He nodded and looked back to Saul when he spoke.
His cheeks went pink again and he groaned, shaking his head. "No. That's a sin. Why does everyone keep saying that nonsense?" He closed his eyes and than laughed at the next comment. "I'm pretty sure you aren't a kitten. And you're right. Not productive. But it was only yesterday. I haven't been back until last week. So I wasn't really given the time to sit around looking at animals."
After a moment he got up, looking at the dishes Alice and Talen had with a determined look. "I can clean those." He said, not really asking if he could. He knew they'd be completely clean if he did them. Plus, he wanted something to do besides sitting around, especially when the topic eventually revolved back to him.

((HAHAH, I'm gonna pooooosttttt.... noooow... yeeah.))
David still seemed rather unsure about this new guest, and frowned at him briefly before vanishing once again into Talen's pant leg. He stumbled over his little nephew as he was moving to continue clearing the table.
"David!" He half shouted, half laughed, stumbling over him and dipping enough to tap his head with a plate. "Watch out or I'll squish you, kiddo!" David made a little noise and tugged shyly after him. Talen exchanged a broad smile with Saul at Abel's remark.
"A sin." They both mocked, feigning a shudder.
Saul sat back in his chair with his mouth quirked as Abel rose to help.
"No." Alice said in a very authoritative voice. "Sit." She forced him to do so. "My man is cleaning up." She pointed at James and he grinned somehow guiltily, shrugging his shoulders. "And my little men." She pointed at Talen and David still tagging after him. "We've got enough help. Tell us about you." She sat across from him, waiting expectantly.
Saul raised his eyebrows, grinning. "You heard her. There's no avoiding it now. She's made up her mind."

Abel frowned, wanting to protest. He slowly sat down again, rubbing at his mouth nervously as he watched them bring the plates to the sink, itching to get up and do them. He breathed through his nose and forced himself to look away.
When Alice asked about him, he looked at her with a confused look than glanced at Saul, brows furrowing slightly. "Oh. Everything's well. Nothing to talk about." He said and looked away from Alice, watching the window. He was silent, blue eyes focused on a bird sitting outside, pecking at the grass. There was a subtle finality around him that seemed to say not to push further.
Suddenly he looked back at Alice with a smile. "You seem to have had it very good. A nice family and all of that. Mei never really filled me in on what was happening. But now I know. I was really surprised to hear you had a son. Talen should have been enough." He said, somewhat seriously, but still smiled.
"Are you still working where you used to?" He asked, watching her patiently. Without warning there was a sharp pain that split in his head. He leaned over, jaw opening wide and eyes flashing brightly. Quickly he closed his eyes and pressed the palms of his hands to his temples. There was a faint glow on his hands, which were shoved under the table. The pain grew and he was frighteningly silent. It subsided rapidly and he took a deep breath.
After a moment he opened his eyes again, their normal sky blues focusing on the world around him. As he focused again he pulled the back of his hand over his mouth. "I'm sorry. Can I go outside for a second?" He asked, voice wavering.
((Man. Everyone around me has fall break...and I gotta study for exams. Haha. Ohhhh.))

((BUH. I'M SO SORRY. I was doing so well. Everything kinda hit me at once this week and I didn't get everything done that I needed. FFF. Ah well. I'M POSTING NOW. TAKE IT, BIOTCH.))
Alice frowned, chin in her hands. "That's it?" She said of him, smiling a little. "Still don't like talking about yourself, do you?" She shook her head a little.
Saul smiled with her, and squeezed Abel's shoulder. "The strong silent type."
This made Talen snort as he finished with the rest of the dishes in the kitchen, leaving James to wash them. "Hit the nail on the head, Saul. RIGHT. ON THE. HEAD."
Saul chuckled.
Alice once more turned her attention onto Abel when he spoke up again. She smiled gently, rubbing at her forehead. "Yeah... well. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting either... but I'm really glad it happened." And she reached over and shook Talen's hands. "And he IS a handful, but I love him, I guess... and with David around now he's got a little FRIEND to play with." She said playfully.
Talen grinned and glanced into the kitchen to watch David attempt to help his father clean. "Yeah. He's really a good kid. Thanks to me."
Alice began to reply to Abel's next question, but then the angel was wincing and bent over. Talen exchanged a quick look with Saul and Alice rose from her hair.
"What's-" She started, but stopped at his next words. "Yes, of course." She said.
"Do you need help or anything?" Talen wanted to know, that look of general concern on his face.
Saul was silent, thoughtful.
((THERE. I'M. SO SORRY. PLEASE STILL LOVE ME. COS I STILL LOVE YOU.))

((Hahaha. It's FINE. I totally understand. I feel like soon I'll start being the same way...ugh. Especially next semester. But hopefully not. D: ))
Abel smiled a bit and shook his head, trying to assure them that he was fine. He wasn't so comfortable with people trying to help him. "It's fine...I just feel light headed. I need some fresh air. I'm not used to...this anymore." He stood up slowly, hands in his pockets. "I'll be right back. Just a minute." He said to mostly Talen and went into the backyard.
When he was outside he breathed out deeply. Taking his hands out of his pockets he wrung them together and closed his eyes. Something was pushing him on the inside. There was a push and tug that made the world spin slightly and his skin heat up. His shoulder blades and back ached. For a brief moment he felt as if his wings were about to push themselves out.
He tilted his head upwards and rubbed his face, then rubbed his shoulders, trying to get rid of the anxiety and pain. Finally, he closed his eyes and tried to calm himself down. He tried to wipe his mind clear of any negative thoughts or energy.

((Lamest Sweetest Day EEEVEEEER... For real.))
Talen watched Abel leave silently, hands open as if he were trying to grasp something. Saul gave him a look that encouraged him to move towards the door."
"Talen." Alice said, standing up a little from her chair.
"Don't." He said, heading for the door.
"What's wrong, Tal?" David queried form the kitchen door.
Talen glanced over his shoulder, smiling absently. "Nothing, kiddo. Hang out in here for a bit." And he stepped out the door after Abel, striding up beside him.
"You may not have changed, but neither have I. I still don't listen... least of all you when you get like this." He said.

((...I don't get it. Hahaha. Sweetest Day?))
Abel jumped noticeably when Talen spoke up beside him. His eyes flashed and he turned, fingers trembling slightly. When he noticed it was only Talen he visibly relaxed, but was still more tense than usual. Which for him was pretty tense, since he was tense all the time.
"Get like what?" Abel asked, smiling at Talen and twirling some of his hair around his finger, his curl perfectly curved around it. He dropped his hand and pulled down his white shirt, straightening it out from any wrinkles. "I'm fine..." He looked down at his feet, noticing the shine from the sun on the black leather. "I'm just restless. I've gotten used to keeping myself so busy that just sitting around makes me antsy, I guess." He seemed to be talking to himself, still watching his shoes. He moved a foot, twisting it, the shine of the sun shifted to another spot.
"It's normal." He looked at Talen again, hands hooking into his pockets. "I'm pretty messed up. So it's nothing new." He laughed, but something about it seemed strained, uneasy. One of his hands came out of his pocket and went to Talen's shoulder. "Don't worry." He smiled again. As much as it seemed he was reassuring Talen, he was more so reassuring himself.

((I haff time to post today because my first class WAS CANCELLED. YESSSSSS-SSS.
And Sweetest Day is a made up Hallmark holiday that for some reason people in the mid-west are obsessed with.
It's like Valentine's day... but imaginary. I'm not even kidding. ONE VALENTINE'S DAY IS ENOUGH. FOR GOD. SAKES.))
"Pardon the French, Abel, but don't bullshit a bullshitter." Talen half smiled, but it didn't quite reach his whole face. "I know you better than that. Give me some credit. Something's wrong... and you have this thing where you never tell me what it is."
And then he frowned. "You're NOT messed up... well, okay, you're pretty messed up, but who isn't? Tell me if you know someone, 'cause I sure don't." He rubbed at his hair. "This ISN'T normal... somethings wrong. Like I said... give me some credit. I may have gotten okay grades in high school, but man, I ain't stupid."
He touched his friend on the shoulder and looked him directly in the eyes. "What's. Wrong." And it wasn't a question.

((Very nice. Haha. I want my class to be canceled...D:
And that sounds ridiculous. What the heck? I've never heard of such a day! In October no less. Taking away the glory from Halloween...))
Abel's smile turned into a frown. He let go of Talen and rubbed his hands together. "I never said you were stupid..." He muttered. As Talen touched his shoulder, he looked, then turned his head and was silent. There really wasn't a way around it. But he didn't want to tell Talen the whole truth. He didn't want to become a burden on anyone. He hadn't even told Gabriel about his episodes.
"I don't know." He said quietly, brows furrowing. "I really don't. I mean...I kind of do...but I don't want to be correct." He laughed strangely and put his hands back to his pockets, kicking at the ground with his foot. "I didn't think much of it when it started. I noticed it after that time with Caine. It only happened maybe like once every few weeks. I'd kind of get dizzy, my head would hurt slightly, and I felt really energetic...to the point my hands would shake and I would have to move around a lot and do something to expend it. I just figured it was from...you know...leaving. I've always had weird things I do when things happen. I always just put it off as a way of coping or something. Keeping my mind busy."
He swallowed and looked back to Talen. "But then they started happening more...every two weeks...then every week. I kept putting it off, ignoring it. I've always had strange habits and tendencies. So I just said it was another habit I formed. But they got worse. My head would start pounding, then just kind of...a long stab...like it was splitting. My vision would black out and finally I noticed that I'd do something without knowing. I might use a gift, or just...do anything. I'd walk a whole mile or even hold a whole conversation with someone. But I was blacked out. I didn't remember anything.
"No one noticed though...so I figured it was okay. I wasn't doing anything bad or strange...it was like sleep walking. It was when I didn't black out that scared me. I was there...you know...I was there, watching, but I was like an audience...not having the ability to stop it from happening. And every time I came back to I'd be angry...frustrated. It made me...mad." He sighed out and bit down on his lip. "But I've been fine...I haven't done anything dangerous you know...so I just don't want to worry about it. I'm sure it's just a phase. I've had weird phases before...so it's no big deal."
He laughed again and turned to go back inside. "I told her I'd be out here for just a minute..."

((OMG. LOOK HOW KYUT MY HAIR IS... hahaha, and that was like... all of my gold on this account.. I kinda wish I could still get onto my old one. loool.))
Talen listened to Abel with a very serious look on his face, an expression he'd grown into. He drew back, eyes concerned, eyebrows turned down. When Abel moved to return to the house Talen pulled him back by his shoulder.
"Did you tell anyone else about this?" He wanted to know. "Of course you didn't." He added hitting his own head. "That's a stupid question..." He looked over his old friend, eyes concerned. "I want you to talk to Gabe... is Gabe still around? I dunno how you guys roll... but you should talk to him about it... Mei... anyone." Talen looked his friend directly in the eye.
"Promise me you'll tell someone about this."

((You look like a NERD. EW.))
Abel closed his eyes when Talen grabbed him. He frowned at the door and he looked behind him. "No...I haven't." He said under his breath, eyes moving away when Talen told him to tell someone. A smile appeared on his lips, wanting to tell him that he did...he just did. But that would seem either arrogant or annoying.
He was silent. Finally he looked to his friend again and nodded, smiling weakly. "I will." He said plainly before pulling away and opening the door.
Walking in he smiled to Alice and Saul. "A lot better. The fresh air did well." He said calmly and sat back down, flipping some blonde hair from his face. "Sorry about that. What do you usually do after dinner? Does David go to bed or something? I want to get to know him." He smiled honestly at Alice and looked around for the boy.

((NU UH. I'M HANDSOME. MY MOMMY SAYS I'M HANDSOME.
HAND. SOME.))
"Good." Talen said, letting him at last reach the door. He stood back a bit, hands in his pockets. He faced outside a moment more and sighed before following after him.
Alice glanced uncertainly at Abel when he first returned and looked once to Talen. Talen gave her a brief smile and a nod, a wave of a hand encouraging her not to worry. Her smile grew broader than, more sure. She looked once more to Abel.
"I'm glad." She said. "It's no problem! Don't apologize! You need to do what you need to do!" She rose, still smiling.
Saul, however, wasn't smiling. He watched Abel carefully.
"David?" Alice laughed. "Well, he does get sleepy after he's eaten." She glanced over her shoulder as she heard footsteps behind her. James was in the doorway, a rather sleeping looking David resting in his arms. His face was resting against his father's shoulder.
"He's a little tuckered out."
"Am not." He declared, then perked up a little, noticing Abel once more in the room. He quickly vanished his face into the fabric of his father's shirt and curled more tightly.
"Oh David." Alice said gently, affectionately. She reached out with a hand and rubbed his back. "He'll get used to you." She informed Abel. "It'll just take time."
Talen smiled from the door. "I can take him up for you, James."
"He'd like that." James said, slowly removing his son from his shirt to pass on to Talen. David scrambled quickly to get into the safety of his arms and turned his head away from Abel shyly.
"Let's show him your room, what do you say kiddo?" Talen asked of his nephew. "I bet Abel would like to see that."
David raised his head only an inch before putting it back into Talen's chest. He nodded his head very minimally. "Okay." He agreed. "But he's not allowed in."

((I know why! Because Abel is a freak. That's why. I'd be scared of him too...
Not really...D: But he IS a freak.))
Abel looked over to see James and David. He smiled when David looked over at him. When the kid pushed his face into his father's shirt, Abel chuckled a bit and rubbed his head. "Am I really that scary?" He said, unsure. Of course he'd never had a kid of his own to take care of, but he always enjoyed them.
"It's okay..." He said in response to Alice. "I never liked new people when I was a kid either. When my parents had friends over I'd stay in my room." He laughed a bit as if this was somehow humorous. His eyes flickered around the room for a moment, catching a flaw in the positioning of some photos.
When Talen spoke to his nephew, Abel dragged his gaze away reluctantly and watched the two with amusement. "If it's anything like your room...I wouldn't mind not going in." He said as polite as he could have said such a thing. "So how do you decorate a kid's room anyways? Trains? I was never into that stuff..." He shrugged and started to stand up again. The pain in his legs and arms were gone completely now.
He glanced at Saul briefly before moving to the photos he had been looking at and fixed them. He made a face before moving back to Talen and David. "Lead the way."

((POST BEFORE I SLEEP!))
Talen gave his friend a scowl. "It's much cleaner now it that makes you feel better." He adjusted his nephew slightly in his arms.
Alice just laughed at that. Talen gave her a look. "Sorry." She said. "It's just funny... because it isn't true." She smiled prettily.
"Jerk." He said of her, but was grinning. When he turned back to Abel he was adjusting some pictures. Talen sighed and rolled his eyes. David lifted his face to stare up at his uncle and grin. "Come on." He said when Abel returned and lead his way up the stairs.
David's room, though not quite as messy as Talen's room, did have the thrown about and tousled look of a child's. Toys were still in mid play on the floor and forgotten. There was a collection of crayons and paper cluttered on a small table. The bed was made, but clumsily. The theme of the room was space, race cars, and dinosaurs, three of David's favorite things... that and the colour blue.
Talen dumped his nephew on the bed, but gently. He bent down to tickle his sides. He made sound effects to go with his twiddling fingers.
David squirmed, gave a bit of a yelling laugh, and kicked his uncle away. "NO!" He cried, but was smiling, turning away and vanishing under his blankets. "NO!" He said again beneath his shield of pillows and sheets.
Talen glanced over his shoulder and waved Abel in. "You wanna show Abel around?"
David peered out, dark eyes watchful. He vanished again. "No." He said.
"Please?"
David peered out, and emerged. He regarded Abel with a shy expression. "This is mine." He declared.
((hahaha. Yes.))

Abel followed the two upstairs. When he got to the room, he leaned in the doorway and looked around. It was the epitome of a boy's room. His eyes moved to the toys on the ground with a distant smile. As Talen tickled his nephew, Abel gazed at the toys and the other signs of a little boy that was in the process of playing. Something inside of him tugged and he frowned. There was that always present emptiness of not having what was considered a normal childhood. His jaw tightened and he breathed out through his nose.
Just as he heard Talen ask if David would show the angel around, Abel looked up and forced a smile back on his face when David refused. "It's okay..." He began to Talen but the man asked again, getting a rather absolute and simple response from the young boy. Abel laughed gently and nodded.
"You have some neat things. I'm jealous." He said patiently, watching the boy. "Have you ever seen a dinosaur before?" He asked. "I've seen a live one. Really big, it was. There were also small ones...they were a bit mean." His hand moved to his hip, the other dangling by his thigh. "I could tell you about them...if you want...but you'd have to promise not to tell anyone. Because it's kind of a huge secret."
((Hahaha. Dinosaurs...))
