 Shiki replayed that scene over and over in his mind. Why did he say he loved her? And then finished it off with 'it won't work'? He must be out to lunch. No one confesses love and then says that in basically the same breath. It's no wonder she was so confused.

Sandra just stayed quiet while Shiki thought. She wasn't going to interrupt him until he had worked out what ever it was he needed to.

So it's fine as long as he kills his love for Sandra. That shouldn't be too hard, or so he was thinking anyway. He nodded, having resolved his issues for now, "The plants just as friendly here as they are in Alenca?" He asked with a small smile which was slowly going back to his usual.

Sandra nodded. "yes, they are really friendly," she said as she stopped and touched a water lily and it bloomed wider than it had before.

"Then you were born with this ability," Shiki concluded for future reference. He could understand that. Her magic circuit was open from birth.

Sandra nodded again. "Yeah, which is why I've lived with the shaman my whole life, too," she said as she straightened again.

Shaman? That was a word he had heard many times while growing up, but he knew there was no such person on Earth. "Are Shaman's like Sorcerers?" Shiki asked.

"They can be," sandra replied, looking at him. "They are basically the head magic user in our tribe. the current one happens to be an elven sorcerer, he raised me, so even though he's not my real father, I call him father."

Shiki nodded, "Kind of like my relationship with Sensei, only not nearly as long," He said, "We don't have shamans on Earth; we have the Four Sorcerers which were all nicknamed after a color," He said. He learned this from his friend who came two years ago to his city, Sion. She was on a pretty big mission when she came from the Magic Association.

"If you mean 'tribe' as in 'clan' or 'family' then no. We have what we call the Magic Association. It works undercover with the Church. The Burial Agency works in the same way, only they specialize in assassinations and artifact usage; in the name of God. The Magic Association is basically like a worldwide academy for Magicians that we call Magi. They do their own private research and such, not believing in sharing their accomplishments with others. The four Sorcerers are pretty much the four strongest Magi in the Association," Shiki scratched the back of his head, "...Did you understand any of that? I know it can get confusing."

Sandra nodded. "yeah, I understand it well enough," she replied. Some things he said were foreign to her but she understood the concept of what they were.

Shiki nodded, "Sensei was given the title 'Blue' by the Magic Association. She's one of the four Sorcerers. Her sister has the title 'Red,'" Shiki said. If she asked how he had gotten to know such a powerful person, then he would most likely tell her.
