Pencils/sketching
Ink pens/out lining
Art Markers/PS CS4/ coloring

you gotta give it a go and keep at it. Observe other peoples works and steal parts that work together.
See if I had things my way I'd steal the tips of your peoples heads. they're nicely rounded
one quick thing you're lacking lips on that guy. Even anime characters have lips
If I could recommend a site where you could look at lots of pictures then it'd be Safebooru (as opposed to Danbooru)

Pad you misunderstood....When I said I can't I ment it literally, I have no coloring supplies or I would be using the hell outta them. And Im too poor to get a decent color program let alone a digital drawing pad XD
As for the lips..........Im still working on those kind of details XD

Way you get PS CS4 for free
go to google and type in "Index of""Parent Directory" Photoshop CS4 , and then go to a link the as Index of, as the first words.

I have been doing it for a year I get all my songs for my ipod this way as well.
