Seph lowered his head a moment Damn. Sighing slightly he turned around and strode passed Etana, stopping when he shoulders went just passed where her heard was "This way" He said, his tone casual. Giving a flick of his oh so long tail he moved off towards the den Zephre had spoken of, moving at a slow pass, less then even a trot. It would appear he'd moved right out of hunting mode, returning to his slow, lazy movements.

Etana turned to follow him quietly, placing one large, black paw silently in front of the other. Dene hardly moved in her jaws, and the leopard assumed that she was getting tired. The cub hadn't eaten an actual meal until today, and even then it was a small one, so as not to upset her tiny stomach while it became reaccustomed to digesting food. Excitement had perked the little cub up to her old self for a short while, but pneumonia soon prevailed as Dene fought to keep her eyes open while she swung gently in her sister's jaws.

((Aww, get well soon Satine! I dunno where kakash is, I'll have to go find him...))

Zephre smiled at Tami, the wind pushing his mane into his eyes, making him shake his head vigorously. "The herb for the young cub is called Lamb's foot, it grows only in damp places, we'll follow the river up to the falls by the cliffs and see if it isn't there."

When they stepped into the forest, it was like passing into another world. The canopy that towered over their heads seemed to suck all sound out of the air. The earth was soft and spongy underfoot, it's rich scent filling the lion's nose. Every now and then a bird would call, sending its last farewells to the sun that was throwing the last of its light feebly through the trees.
Zephre loved the forest dearly and spent much of his time there when he did not have duties to attend to.
Along the way they came across several herbs that were needed and Zephre took a little stem from every plant they found, this allowed the plant to keep growing and provide for the cats another time.
It was the first rule to gathering herbs and the lion could not stress it enough.
It wasn't long before the sound of the falls could be heard; a dull hiss in the distance.
Zephre could not help but feel a little excited. When he had been little, before he fell ill, he remembered his father bringing him to the falls. He remembered the sight of the rushing water and its sound brought the image back to him.
"Come on Tami! I'll race you!" He laughed through a mouthful of plants before quickening his pace into a gentle lope.

Brindle yawned, continuing her vigil by the main den. Just then Seph came into view, the newcomer and the cub in tow.
Now that there was a little time Brindle decided to go and investigate properly. She padded the short distance between the dens in a few minutes and came up to them with a calm but leaderly expression. She nodded to Seph to say he could go if he wished and addressed Etana in a soft voice;
"If Zephre is looking after your sister, she will be well within days."

Tami ran after him, barely avoiding dropping some of the plants she carried. "Branch, duck!" she called, drawing closer to him. She hadn't figured out yet how he didn't run into things, but she couldn't help but try to help out a bit. Such as warning him of tree limbs sticking out into their path.

She stayed with him, so long as he was in the lope. If he went much faster she'd fall behind easily, as she couldn't go much faster than she was now without wearing herself out. Zephre was bigger, he had a bit of an advantage over her, though she thought the blindness might help a bit. However, she had yet to be proved right in that aspect.

Zephre swung his head down just in time. "Thank you!" he called over his shoulder, despite knowing the path well he had no control over the ever changing forest and just had to find out the differences he could not smell by chance.
The falls crashed over a collapsed part of the cliff, bouncing off the giant boulders that had once formed a thirty foot wall, all the way down to a large pool below.
The sound eliminated Zephre's hearing, he would be relying on smell and touch for as long as they were there. Even at that, the mist coming off the falls caught in his nose and dampened that sense as well.
He stopped at the water's edge, wishing he could see the magnificent cascade just once more...
"Tami...can you see the plant we need? It should be in the earth just at the base of the falls, where the spray keeps the soil wet."
Best not to dwell on things that couldn't be changed...after all, the little cub needed medicine as soon as possible.

"I see it, there's a lot more than there used to be. I'll be back in a minute." Tami said, right beside him and talking loudly so he could hear her. She made it down to the plant fairly easily, managing not to slip. She gathered up enough of the plant before she went back up to Zephre. Setting the leaves down beside him, she moved a bit so she would be speaking towards his ear. Then she slipped and fell into the water, the splash probably hitting Zephre as well. The leopard scrambled out of the water, shaking the water from her fur and sighing. She knew she'd be reminded of this for a long time.

Thela walked with Seph, leading the newcomers to one of the quarantine dens. It was only a short walk, but even she saw the little one nodding off in her sister's jaws.

"Here we are," she stated when they reached the cave front. "Make yourselves at home." The den was much smaller than the others, and further away from many of the main pride dens. Thela made a note to keep more outriders closer to this side, in case of another attack. She wouldn't want them to be attacked just because there weren't too many other cats around.

She walked over to Seph. "See if you can get some meat for them," she said in a low tone, addressing only the pride member. It wouldn't surprise Thela if Etana overheard. "I'll stay here with them." She knew Seph would be able to requisition meat; as a Hunter, he was allowed to help distribute their kill. Thela had no right to just take.

Etana padded softly into the dark warmth of the quarantine den, placing her sister's limp, sleeping form upon the dirt floor. She curled her sleek, black body around the cub, running her sandpaper tongue along the fluffy head once, one ear swiveled toward the conversation at the mouth of the den. She turned her full attention to the jaguar as Seph left, her topaz eyes shining with gratitude, her ears drooping slightly as the golden orbs seemed to smile.

(New banner everyone.))

Zephre's initial reaction was one of shock and worry.
"Tami? Are you all right?" He had an awful image of her being swept into the middle of the river that carried the water of the falls off against the cliff wall.
A surge of relief flooded into him when she climbed back up. He chuckled for a moment, his great mane trembling. Suddenly he burst out laughing, the plants he had collected joining the new ones Tami had just obtained on the ground.
He listened to the water dripping off her coat and laughed all the harder for it.

Raiden stalked through the grass, his great paws pressing the grass down as he went. Behind him five other cats padded. All large, well built cats, all loyal to him.
The Liger stopped and the other stopped as well.
"Gather the pride." He ordered, not looking back as they each slunk off in different directions.
Raiden listened to them go and shivered in anticipation. It was time.
Slowly he made his way to a small rise directly in the middle of the main pridelands. It was there he would wait, until the whole pride was collected before him.

A large tiger appeared at the den Etana had just been led to. He was tall and thin, carrying his muzzle high and set in a serious frown.
He was an outrider, and acknowledged Thela with a nod but no one else.
"You are all to come to the middle of the pridelands, there is a meeting about to take place."

Brindle glared at this open act of disrespect, shock mixed with anger on her proud features.
"And who has called this meeting?" She stood up to her full height, ears laid back she took one step toward the tiger, who shrunk a little under her burning green eyes.
"R-Raiden...You will attend!"
With that he turned and trotted briskly away, looking nervously over his shoulder to make sure Brindle was not about to chase him.

It was happening all over the pride, Raiden's supporters gathered cats from every corner of the territory. The place to be visited was the main den...where the injured Bianca was guarding the cubs.
A thick set lion approached the den, quietly growling a summons.

"Hush!" Tami pounced on him, trying not to laugh herself. He'd be able to feel it, despite her not wanting him to.
Calyn curled up in the back of the den, what was left of the bark at her side. She was deep asleep, lost in the effects of the mystical bark. Were her sleep any lighter she'd be restless, caught firmly in the grasps of the dreams that seemed to be more than just that.

Seph snorted slightly "Raiden eh..." He said, speaking more to himself. He never openly voiced it, but he never liked the Liger. Mainly because he seemed to sure of himself, to arrogant, of course that was just one snow leopards opinion "I think I'll pass on this fun little meeting. We're a little short on food tonight, so I'm going to see whats crawling around in brush" Seph spoke, his voice mostly a mutter before he took off in the direction of the woods. Seph was a small cat, and a bit lazy, judging from Brindle's reaction there would be conflict, he'd rather avoid that.

Gado made a low sound in his throat as he spotted Raiden off in the distance. It was starting, something was starting anyway. He had promised to report, but it looked like the other cats traveling with the liger were going to save him the trouble. Better to keep the element of surprise. We need all the cards we can get... The battle hardened old lynx thought to himself as he started making a plan. He was a small cat, smaller then the majority of the pride in fact, so he had to make up for that in toughness, and cunning.

(My apologies for taking so long to post. Things got a little hectic in my home life.)

Bianca laid in the den, many little ones around her warmth. She had to keep telling them to stop licking her wounds as the whimpered from the sight of her. In time she shushed and comforted the fearful little ones. The day had them on edge and already two had come crying with nightmares. They were all under her for protection.

She growled softly, still angry from earlier events. Unable to sleep, Bianca watched the den opening with piercing eyes as she her a growl. Rising slowly, she went tot he den opening to see whom was summoning her.

Zephre fell over under her weight, unable to stop laughing for a while. When he finally got himself under control he picked up the herbs he had dropped.
"Well then," he said through his teeth. "We'd best get back, Etana and her young sister will be wating for us. And...lets try not to fall into anymore streams!"
With that, and another chuckle he started back, swinging his tail happily in a wide arc behind him.

Brindle heard Seph, though she didn't react immediately.
"I need you to go and find Zephre." She said flatly." Then, stay hidden... I don't like this."
The Tigress then started for the main den.

The lion stood and met Bianca's eyes, only averting his gaze at the last moment, as was expected. He was an older outrider, and one that did not spend much time around the den. He had hardly ever spoken to cats in other factions.
"There is an emergency meeting Bianca. You are needed there."

Brindle saw the lion before the den and froze. Quickly she hid herself and waited.

Tami nipped the tip of his tail around the herbs, trotting after him, and once again keeping him from running into branches or the like.

Calyn snapped awake, a growl deep in her throat. She sighed, her head falling back on her paws. This had to be the worst time to have been hurt, and to be stuck here on the herb. She felt as though she had to be with the tribe, it didn't feel right. There was something wrong, but she didn't know what exactly. It was infuriating, to say the least.
