Nathan heard Syvra bust through the door. Nathan ran to the scene and looked at Jasper laying there, helpless. Something about the scene tugged at his heart and tears started to fall from his eyes. He walked over and fell to his knees next to Jasper. He layed his head on his stomach and began to cry harder. "Jasper, oh, Jasper. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry that they did this to you." He said as he sobbed into his chest. He grabbed his hand and looked at his face. He grabbed Jaspers hand and just held it. "Damn, I feel so useless. I can't do anything to help. Why does it have to end like this? I'm sorry, Jasper. I'm sorry." Nathan said to him.

The slight murmurings of the doctors above her gave Ebony the desire to wake up and learn what was going on. Willing her hand to move, she felt the appendage twitch and then go slack. Why was she here? Swallowing, Ebony tasted blood. Blood? Oh yes, that's right, she remembered now. But how did she get here? Horror fueled Ebony then and she struggled into a sitting position opening her eyes to her room and the four doctors that surrounded her. With wide eyes she scanned the room, Alec wasn't here but he must have carried her back. Heat rose to flame up in her cheeks and the sudden rush of blood made her light headed, giving the doctor nearest the opportunity to push Ebony back down. Ebony snarled at the doctor and tried to sit up again, however her muscles felt heavy and unresponsive.

One of the doctors, taller than the rest, made his way to Ebony's bedside. "I wouldn't recommend moving just yet. We've just finished operating, you'll be fine as long as you rest and keep still." Ebony turned her face away from the surgeon and instead glared at the red paint of her wall. A slight p***k and a cold, almost wet sensation began to seep into her arm, and looking at the doctor an expression of indignation crossed Ebony's features. Didn't they trust her to keep still for long enough? Well, they were right, as soon as they left she would have gotten up, but still. Her arms, legs, eyelids, Ebony's whole body felt as if an invisible pressure was holding her down, and eventually her eyelids slid closed and she slumbered once more.

Alice was yanked into the building like an afterthought. Her first impression of the place was how cold it was, and not just the temperature. It was like walking into a morgue. Everything felt dead, lifeless. Like even the inadement objects around her were in fear of Alec.
Still bare foot, Alice treaded quickly beside Alec to avoid any more yanking. Her wrist was beginning to bleed from the cuffs. But she found it hard to keep up with his long quick strides. And the freshly waxed marble wasn’t helping. Yet the cold of the marble seemed to soothe her raw feet as she padded along.
They quickly reached the elevator and Alec hastily pushed the button, his face giving away some of his impatience. Alice took this opportunity to breathe, she realized now that her breaths were heavy, a combination of shock, and running too keep up with Mister Long Legs. At the thought she looked up at the looming man before her. If she felt small before, now she felt even smaller.
A high chirp sounded as the elevator drew near. Alice looked up and watched the small needles above the doors slowly descend.
…3…2…1..G.
The thick steel doors opened to a small, but elegant elevator. Complete with gold walls and red velvet carpet. Hurried inside, Alice leaned against the small rail on the back wall, trying to calm down. Everything was happening so fast. Two days ago, she was oblivious. Two days ago, vampires and werewolves only existed in the novels she read. Though it sure as hell didn’t feel like days. It felt like a lifetime. And a part of her wished it was. That would have meant that she would have had more time with Logan.
Logan.
Like before the name seemed to burn her mind. If she had any tears left, they would have fallen. Alec looked down at her for a brief moment, and she thought she saw him smile. Alice’s cheeks burned with fury, and pain. Pain in that he laughed at like it was a joke. To Alec though, other’s pain was a joke.
I will not show him this…I will not give him that satisfaction. Alice coaxed to herself, the rush of emotion was fading as she desperately tried to suppress it. She needed something else to focus on.
Scanning the elevator she found the needle at the top, identical to the one on each floor. The needle ascended this time, floor after floor.
47…48..49..50…
Alice’s forehead creased as she tried looked at the numbers before her. She assumed that he resided in the penthouse. Floor 280. This was going to be a long elevator ride. Again she glanced at the needle, the elevator was moving fairly fast. It had already moved to floor 103.
Only 196 to go… Alice thought glumly. The silence seemed to drag on forever. Alec’s foot began to tap impatiently, the ride was effecting to him too. Alice wiggled her toes, as her legs began to hurt from standing. Her big toe touched something warm and wet, making her look down. A pool of blood had formed before her. Alice’s moved to the unconscious Ebony, slumped over Alec’s shoulder.
Ding.
The elevator came to a soft halt, and the thick doors opened once more. The hall was similar to the one she came from. The floors were a glistening marble, swirls of grey and white, and the walls a crème color that looked almost white. The place just wreaked expensive.
Alec dragged Alice around, as she scanned the vacant halls, trying to remember her way back to the elevator, until they came to a large mahogany door. His impatience was now clearly evident as he thrust the large door open.
Inside his study it reminded Alice of the president’s oval office, minus the emblems and such. It was nothing but the finest furniture, and carpets. Even the lamps were gold. And Alice had a feeling that Alec didn’t settle for fake gold. She was so absorbed with her surroundings she was startled when Alec pushed her back into the velvet love seat next to his desk.
Removing the handcuff from his wrist he reattached it to the arm of the chair. Alice scowled up at him, and noted where he placed the keys. Tossing Ebony on the cool marble like a rag doll, he sank down into his leather chair, his finger already on the intercom. Meanwhile, Alice moved from the chair to the floor, deciding that the floor was better than his furniture. Logan had been dead on when he said she was stubborn.
“Send up some doctors. Our Lady Ebony seems to have gotten into a little accident.” He spoke to the sweet voice on the other end. He glanced at Alice, his eyes twinkling with a hidden humor.
“Need anything Darling?” He said to her, Alice could have killed him, but considering he was a vampire, and she was handcuffed to a chair, she settled on spitting. Unfortunately, she missed, but it was the thought that counted.
“That’s a no then”
He pressed the button once more.
“Have someone go out and buy some clothes. Lady’s clothes.” He continued, then made another glance at Alice, this time sizing her up. Her fists clench in reaction. Oh he was just loving this.
“Make them small.”
“Would you like anything else Sir?” the cool female voice called. She sounded like one of those women on radio infomercials.
Alec sighed, and seemed to be contemplative.
“Hm. Well, you are a budding young woman, so you decide. I’m entertaining a lady friend tonight and she deserves only the best.”
If he thinks I’m eating he has another thing coming! Alice thought in response. Then again knowing him he just might force feed her.
“Yes sir, I will do what I can.”Chimed the elegant voice.
“If you did any less, I’d kill you,” he said with a chuckle, but it didn’t take a genius to hear the silent threat.
A moment later a group of men charged in dressed in white cloaks and smelled heavily of anesthetics. They were quickly ordered to take Ebony to her room and fix her up. Once they were gone, and Alec denied them to tend to his wounds, he turned to Alice.
“I’m so sorry to have you tied up like this. You are my guest and its very rude, but I cant trust you, as I’m sure already you have formulated many plans to kill me and escape.”
Alice wasn’t at all surprised; she would have thought him a fool if he hadn’t. But nevertheless, her anger bubbled like a hot spring.
“Go to hell.” She muttered through clenched teeth. Her dentist would surely have a fit with all the grinding she was doing at the moment.
Alec’s laugh only fueled the raging fire inside her, and he knew it. Hell, he enjoyed. Though at the moment there was no humor, only mockery.
“You sound just like my brother when you say that.” Alice heart skipped a beat and her eyes widened. Suddenly she felt like she could see Alec for the first, and really see him.
His features were familiar, too familiar. They were like Luke’s. Alice heart throbbed with a new pain. A wound that had just started to heal was torn open, but was now larger than before. He killed Luke. He took the only family she had left away from her. And now he had taken Logan too.
Alice wanted to yell, at him to scream and cry. But she knew that it would only bring him more satisfaction. More pleasure.
It will all end soon…I’ll be with them both soon enough… The thought was morbid, but relieving. What was left for her? Nothing.
Her reason for living had long died. Now it was time she end the pain.
Her new view of relief seemed to ease the blossoming pain in her chest, allowing this scene to be bearable.
“So…I assume you killed my parents as well?” Alice choked out. Her voice was somehow stronger than she felt.
Alec paused, as a terrible grin spread across his face. It was the question he was waiting for. Taking another moment to soak it in, he finally replied.
“Well my dear, I actually did not.”
Alice raised her eyebrow disbelieving.
“Indeed.”
Another pause.
“It was actually my dear brother, Luke. Though I myself didn’t know that delightful fact until only last night. You see, Luke was sent to kill you, but for some reason he couldn't bring himself to do it. Instead my fool of a brother became attached, took you in and raised you as his own. “ His voice was like silk, with a hidden razor blade.
The room spun for a moment, a whirl of red, crèmes and blacks. Forcing herself to take deep breaths, she had to calm herself. The dizziness passed, but the sinking pain didn’t.
The leather groaned as Alec sat back in it, enjoying every moment of her reaction.
“That’s why he sent Logan away…because he got attached.” Slowly it was falling in place.
“You got it.”
Deep breath after deep breath Alice sat there for what felt like days, but in actuality were a few minutes. Alec didn’t seem to mind, only stared down at her with observing eyes.

Syvra ran out of the storm drain and ran pell mell under the moonlight to the dimly lit building that rose up in front of her. She'd run through the ankle deep water and following her instincts, she made it out of town. She was in the mountains now. They would never be able to find her here. Her red eyes shone in the light and her breathing wasn't labored at all. However, she couldn't hear Logan's anymore. She knew that at least a couple of vital organs had been pierced, but thankfully, they'd wanted him to suffer and hadn't even bothered aiming at his heart. But his still beating heart wasn't going to do him any good if he wasn't breathing anymore. She snarled the password at the door she was approaching at breakneck speed but didn't bother to wait for anybody to come to the screen to check to see who it was. She jumped feet first and crashed through the door, breaking it down completely. It tore off its hinges and fell flat onto the ground.
Syvra stood on it, surveying the crowd for about 2 seconds before she spotted who she needed and making her way to him. Everybody was so shocked that nobody moved to stop her. She was still cradling the much bigger Logan in her arms. "Rossdale," Syvra said, the low growl that was now the constant undercurrent of her voice sounding hostile but desperate. "He's not breathing but he's still alive. I need your help." Rossdale blinked in surprise but then smiled wickedly and stood up, his long, slender body towering over Syvra. He cracked his knuckles and then motioned for his comrades to take Logan from her. "I suppose I was your last resort because you've never liked paying me back?" Syvra just snarled at him and handed Logan to the people now surrounding her. Rossdale laughed and looked Logan over quickly. "He's stopped breathing. Hmm, multiple gunshot wounds. Let's see what we can do boys." Rossdale's followers rushed Logan out of the room through a pair of swinging double doors. Rossdale breezed after them but just as he was through the door, he said, "You know what I expect for this, Syv." The doors swung back and barely blocked Rossdale from the door Syvra threw after him.

(((Yeah, I guess they did leave…a** hats. >_> )))

Rosen walked over to Nathan slowly and placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. Technically he was older then her, but he was so much more sensitive. He acted the age he looked most of the time.
“It hasn’t ended, Nathan,” she said quietly, at the same time pulling him backward so that she could get to Jasper. “Nothing ends. And we can still help him.”
Rose looked over Jasper’s face. He seemed completely unresponsive now, not even flinching away from the boy’s touch. At least his chest was slowly rising and falling almost steadily.
Jess was waiting eagerly behind her. Rose turned to face her and shook her head grimly. “I don’t know. I think we can still save him…but…” She glanced at his withered figure over her shoulder. “I don’t think he will ever be the same after what they did to him.”
Rose motioned Jess over to Jasper’s body. The two of them, along with Nathan, crowded over him.
“Jess, I want you to keep giving Jasper blood, and no matter what happens hold his shoulders down,” she instructed in a suddenly professional voice. “Nathan,” the boy looked up at her with still teary eyes, “Hold down his chest and arms. Like I said, don’t let him go. He isn’t going to like this, but we have to fix those fingers before he has a chance to wake up fully.”
Rose didn’t stop to make sure the two were cooperating. She bent down at Jasper’s side and grabbed his hand in one of her own, using the other to grasp his finger. This was going to be pretty at all, she knew, but it had to be done.
Snap.
Jasper struggled to leap up, howling in rage and pain. His face had taken on a look of panic. As Jess and Nathan held him down he started to mutter unintelligibly under his breath.
Snap.
Jasper had the same reaction, but this time his eyes flew open and darted across the room. Rimmed with creeping red veins and bloody irises, they made him look even more monstrous.
Snap.
He was ignoring the blood that Jess tried to poor down his throat now. Rose guessed that it wasn’t the pain he tried to run from, but the fear that he was being tortured again. Those red eyes looked through them, seeing something in his memory that would haunt him forever.
Snap.
He twitched feebly, groaning and muttering again.
Snap.
Jasper stopped moving altogether. Rosen wasn’t sure if he was unconscious or just completely lost in his own little world.
Rose grabbed some bandages from her kit and wrapped bits of them around his fingers. She didn’t have any splints, but as a vampire Jasper’s broken bones were sure to heal quickly now that they were in rightful order.
She took a deep breath. “Next Hand.”
Jasper didn’t react to anything else as the rest of his fingers were set, save for the mumbling and occasional groan or twitch. Rosen patched up those fingers as well and finally dismissed Nathan and jess from holding Jasper down. She reached over to his left arm, and finding nothing she could really do, resolved to just wrap that up as well and hope it got better.
She managed to remove Jasper’s tattered shirt and sighed with relief when she saw only bruises on his skin. His face was in much the same condition. Rose pulled a blanket over him and nodded, satisfied. She had done all she could do for him. The rest was up to Jasper.
Rosen gave Jess a little nod before walking past everyone to the sink to wash the blood from her hands.
And to think, just yesterday she would have done anything to kill that man in spite of Jess.

Jess stood behind Rosen, still holding the backpack full of blood at her side. She was more anxious now than she was while Jasper was still being tortured because then she knew that he would not die.. now she wasn't so sure. She watched as Nathan sobbed next to Jasper, "..I love Jasper, too.. and I don't want to lose another one of our guys either, kid.." Her thoughts turned to how it was just yesterday that she had seen him last and told him how she really felt... after all those years. "It seems like years ago...not hours.." Jess looked Jasper over slowly, his fingers were all in different directions, his left arm torn to shreds, and his body was completely covered bruises. Almost as if reading her mind, Rosen turned to her and shook her head grimly, "I don't know. I think we can save him..but..I don't think he will ever be the same after what they did to him." She then motioned for Jess to go over to Jasper, she listened her her, wanting to help with him however she could.

"Jess, I want you to keep giving Jasper blood, and no matter what happens hold his shoulders down. Nathan, hold down his chest and arms. Like I said, don't let him go. He isn't going to like this, but we have to fix those fingers before he has a chance to wake up fully." Jess' eyes widened, but she nodded, she tore off a small corner of the package, not wanting it to pour too quickly and held Jasper's shoulders down with one hand. She looked over to Rosen, "..ready." She then bent down at Jasper's side and grabbed his hand and began straightening out his fingers. Jess winced with each snap, Jasper was putting up a fight, struggling to stand up. Jess slowly poured the blood into his mouth and leaned down further and said something so low that only he would be able to hear. "Jasper..." Snap,"Jasper, It's Jess." Snap, his eyes were open, red veins and bloody irises, staring right through her. Snap. "Jasper, I love you. I've loved you since the day I first met you." Snap. He wasn't struggling anymore, just twitching, groaning, and muttering. "Jasper I can't lose you too.." Snap. He stopped moving altogether and Rose bandaged up that hand. Jess stood still pouring blood into his mouth, this bag was empty now. "Rose..hold on..I need a new bag." She gently let go of Jasper, threw the empty bag aside, and grabbed another one. Opening it quickly she went back to her previous position, "Alright..go ahead." This time, Jasper didn't react to anything as she set the rest of his hand. Rosen dismissed Nathan and Jess from holding him down and began bandaging his left arm.

"Rose..I don't want to leave him..I'll stay right here and keep giving him blood, when this one's empty I'll save the rest for when he's awake.." she said quietly, trying not to distract her any more than what was needed. Jess watched as Rosen removed Jasper's tattered shirt, and they both sighed in relief as they saw it was only bruises, the same with his face. Rosen gave Jess a slight nod befor walking past her to the sink to wash her hands. The second bag of blood was empty and Jess sat down on the floor next to Jasper. She reached up and began stroking his cheek carefully. He started to twitch again as she touched his face, "Shh.. Jasper..it's alright..it's Jess...you'll be alright. Rose made sure you would be alright."

Everything I ever do is for you.
I cant live without you.
You are my world.
My Everything.

He was going to die here, but it was for her. Lying in the dirt as his blood pooled around him beneath the rising sun, all he could have asked for was to see her smile. Just smile and let him know that she was ok.

I wish I could be with you one more time.
I know its terribly cliché.
But I want to hold you.

Darkness seeped into his vision, blocking out everything. He had accepted this as the end, for what else could it be? She was safe now. Everything would be alright, just as he had promised. He let go.

I had a dream once.
We had a happy ending.

“Alright, that ought to do the trick.”
Logan tried to open his eyes at the sound of the unfamiliar voice, but his whole body felt heavy. It took all his effort just to breathe. His lungs hurt with every inhale. He struggled to lift himself, but a strong hand pushed him firmly down.
“Easy there, buddy. You just sit tight for a while.”
With a considerable amount of effort Logan opened his eyes, but the bright light that greeted him just made him regret ever trying. He shut his eyes again and focused on breathing.
In. Out. In. Out.
A machine was beeping to his left. Logan turned his head toward it and tried to open his eyes again, careful to avoid the bright white light above.
A heart monitor?
“Where am I?” Logan rasped, but he wasn’t sure if anyone could understand him.

"Nowhere you need to know Logan," Syvra said, her expression hard and her tone ferocious. Then again, that's what every street vamp looked and sounded like. "I brought you to a place that I've known about for a while. I think it's the only one in the world that'll treat things like us, but you have NO idea what this is gonna cost me." She bent over him so she could block out some light and so he could see her better. The entire left side of her face was bandaged, even her eye, but the rest of her face was visible and her one good eye was on him. "That was a very...interesting thing that you did back there. Why? WHY did you give Alice to Alec? She's the only thing that can get us back to normal! The only thing that'll keep things like this--" she gestured at her face, her neck, and then him "--from happening. Explain to me Logan why I didn't just leave you and Jasper there to bleed out and I don't have much sympathy or patience. If it's something romantic I swear I'm gonna throw something. You just better hope it's not you." She drew a chair over, scraping it across the cracked tile floor. She hoped it gave him a headache if what she was about to hear she didn't like. She noticed his shocked face when he tried to take all of her in. "Oh yes, I forgot, you don't know." She smiled at him, then she remembered her fangs weren't as small as Logan remembered and that made her laugh. "Yeah, in case you haven't noticed, I've gone back to the street. It's as thick in my veins as this stolen blood. I think it suits me more." She posed a bit in the chair and then snarled. "How else did you think I got you back here? Jess or Rosen or Alaric? Pssh yeah, like they'd trust YOU anymore." She sat back in the chair, her arms folded. "Explain."

“Jasper, I love you.”
“I can’t lose you, too.”
“…its Jess…you’ll be alright.”
Jasper’s eyes flew open and darted around the room. Both of his hands were throbbing in pain, but it was a dull pain that he could handle. His arm, however, still felt like it was going to fall off at any moment.
Something brushed softly against his cheek. Jasper’s lips parted and he hissed, but the voice cooing in his ear made him stop and blink in confusion.
“Jess?” he said slowly. His voice was harsh in comparison to hers, sounding almost like a growl. He turned and saw her worried eyes reflecting his battered face. He turned away quickly.
“I didn’t tell them anything,” Jasper whispered. “They won’t find us here. She won’t find us.”
His breathing seemed labored for a moment and he closed his eyes. Even after he controlled himself he kept them closed.
“How is your wrist?”

The edge of Logan’s lips tilted up in a smile.
“I’m a selfish b*****d. You should have left me there for the scavengers.”
He took in Syvra’s appearance slowly, being reminded of the time he first found her. He had to agree with her; this look really did suit the vampire better. She was much too bold and explosive to ever be normal…or truly human.
Logan tilted his head to try and get a better look at the rest of him but the pain that exploded everywhere in his body didn’t seem worth it. He let his head fall back and tried to relax.
“I couldn’t let Alice die, Syvra. It isn’t worth being Cured if that has to happen.” He saw Syvra’s vicious glare and his smile returned. “I told you I was selfish.”
Logan turned away from her and sighed. “Ever wonder where you took that wrong turn that got you in such deep s**t?” He chuckled, not caring if she understood what the hell he was talking about.
“Thank you,” he said finally, losing his smile. “I realized how much I didn’t want to die, even though I have always been so prepared to do it.”

Jess continued to slowly stroke Jasper's cheek as his eyes flew open and darted around the room. He parted his lips and hissed, but when he heard her voice he stopped quickly. "Jess?" he asked slowly in a harsh voice. A tear slowly made its way down her cheek, "..Yeah, Jasper, it's me" She looked at him carefully and wiped the tear away, "I missed you..terribly." He turned to her, looking into her eyes, and turned away quickly. She didn't understand, but she accepted it. "I didn't tell them anything. They won't find us here. She won't find us." He told her, then asked, "How is your wrist?" Jess smiled to herself, "Even after all he's been through he's still concerned about me?"

She looked at him, slightly confused, she had forgotten about her wrist. "My wrist if fine, Jasper. Completely fine.." She began unwrapping the dried blood-covered bandages and found that her wrist was healed. "You don't have to worry about her finding us. Once you're better we can move the group somewhere else, away from here if you'd like." She paused, if he didn't know about Logan betraying them...he didn't want him to find out just yet. She stopped stroking his cheek, and looked at him. His eyes were still closed, and she kissed his cheek.

Nathan smiled as Jasper spoke. He sighed and walked to the nearest chair to recollect his thoughts. Nathan couldn't have bared loosing both Logan and Jasper. That would have been one of the worst possible things to happen to Nathan in his life. Jasper and Logan have always been there for him, every since Alec left him. He owed his life to Logan, and he owed his friendship to Jasper.
