"His name's not fluffy it's Banthy." Tabula corrected her asuming she was talking about her stuffed toy. The warning lights and announcment then blared all around "What's that?" Tabula asked.

“Aye, aye cap’ underst-“ The alarm cut her off mid sentence. Sliding her foot out from under her she turned her chair back to her control council one hand bringing the screen back alive and the other reaching for her acceleration harness. Fasting her belt her hand flew over her controls, sensors, the real space ion engines and lateral thrusters when first on her list, followed by sub-commands for the shields and weapons systems to start there warm ups. “Systems coming on line cap’, all green. Orders cap’?” she asked without taking her eyes off her screen.

The alarms blasted Helix out of bed and as he hit the floor rolled against Little Bird, plugged into a port in the wall. His head smacked into the droid with and he sat dazed next to the chirping robot. As he blinked away stars he looked at the droid and asked, "Situation report?"
With a whir the holoprojector lit up and showed a list of systems, all reading nominal. Fortunately Helix had been too tired to bother changing out of his mechanic garb when he'd laid down, so after a quick glance at the list he rushed out of his quarters and down to the engine room. As the door to the room slid open Ellbee rushed out of his quarters right behind him.
Inside the engine room Helix hit the nearest comm button as last of his wariness burned away, "Engine room standing by. We just hit a dictor patrol?"

Jag braced for impact as the sudden drop shook the ship violently. he was almost thrown from his chair by the deceleration. Looking about he saw a large asteroid right before them and growing slowly larger.
"Take evasive maneuvers!" He told Kaleb as the pilot gripped the yoke. The Ruusan turned away from the asteroid and looked now upon a Maurauder Corvette and a Rendili Light Corvette.
"Osik." He muttered.
He looked to Niomie. "Get our shields up and weapons online and start recalculating a new hyperdrive route to Garqi."
Taking his comm he issued a shipwide announcement. "Attention all hands. We have pirates off our starboard bow. Get your shebs to the gunnery ports now! Engineering, man your combat station."

Xan sat next to his Akk dog, the sudden jolt doing little to throw them off. It's kind of hard to really move when an orange armored animal blocks your path.
"Yah 'ear tat? Pirates!" Xan said. He didn't really care too much, as it was the crew's responsibility to get them out of this situation. The cargo hold was his defense fortress. The Akk dog perked up and gave a thump with it's tail at the word.
"No, yah can't eat'um." Xan remarked, as the dog gave an obvious sign of displeasure. "Well, maybe one couln' hurt."

“Aye cap’, Shields coming on-line now, weapons are charging,” Her finger danced over her control board as she carried out her captain’s orders. “Starting new jump calculation-.” She stopped, her hand pressing her headset to her ear. She turned slightly to glance at her captain over her shoulder. “Cap’,” she said. “We’re being hailed by the pirates.”

(Isn't the engine room my combat station)
"Ellbee, boost the power to the shields, I'll pump some more juice to the weapon batteries." Helix tapped out a program code on one of the panels and redirected power from the tractor beam mounts to the weapons systems. Then he ran over to the power conduit that fed reactor power and ionized plasma into the engines and turned off the regulator, dumping Terawatts into the drive system. The ship lurched forward as the throttle limiter was removed. Sure it was hard on the engines, but he could fix that after the battle.
That done he grabbed a console and sent out an order to the droids, ordering them to access the airlocks, cargobay doors, and hangar doors and keep them closed. If the pirates wanted to board, they'd need to drill their own hole.

((Whatever.))
Jag nodded to Niomie. "Patch it through."
Upon doing so, Jag saw a Barabel in a ragged jumpsuit with twin bandoleers, clearly the Pirate captain. "Surrender your cargo or we'll blast you to atomic dust!" The Barabel snarled.
Jag didnt know these pirates, nor did he recognize any of the ships arrayed against him. They just had a generic Blazing Claw on them. If he had known these Pirates to spare their victims and keep to the Cargo, Jag might have complied. As it stood he had no guarentees they were not going to take his ship and enslave or kill his crew.
The Maurader was probably a carrier. It would have to die first.
"Ke nu jurkad sha Mando'ade, burc'ya." Jag said gravely. "Ive eaten grubs like you for breakfast. Now clear out of my sky before I send you to whatever hell you believe in. We're moving on."
Jag cut the feed and cue-ed up the targeting systems for the forward quad gun and the club.
"Maintain present course. Target the Maurader."

A thought occurred to Helix as he glanced at one of the ship readouts, his droid was designed to help maintain a ship, and it did it by scanning and analyzing sensor data to find where systems had gone wrong and were on the verge of going wrong.
And this ship had a sensor suite unlike any other he'd seen, let alone worked on. Glancing at the droid he hit the comm, "Bridge, my droid can analyze the sensor readouts for flaws in the enemy ships if you do a sensor focus on them. I'm plugging Ellbee in down here, if your sensor officer would coordinate the sensors with him and he'll feed back targeting data."

"Understood." Jag replied to Helix's call. "Niomie, give him what he wants and make it quick. Those chakaar arent going to sit still for much longer."

The ships intercom crackled to live with an unfamiliar voice, one she had heard earlier here on the bridge. From the earlier conversation, he had had with the captain and she assumed, at the time that it had been the chief engineer. Now she new she was right. Without waiting for orders from the captain, she keyed up the Ruusan’s sensor suite, punching in the commands for a focused scan of the closer of the two pirate ships. “Already on it Cap’,” she keyed her headset. “Scanning first target now.”

Ellbee moaned as the first set of sensor information was uploaded into her computer, before him the droid projected the sensor input and resolved it into a ship and swiftly marked a set of five separate points.
Helix felt his stomach knot when he saw the ship, a Marauder-class corvette. Still, it was a ship with plenty of weaknesses.
Each marking were areas where the droid detected a weakness in the ship's shielding. The weakest point was a section of the ship's wing right next to the second port turbolaser. The sensor logs indicated that the turbolasers were drawing the tibanna directly from the magazine without any obvious safeties to stop blowback. If they punched through there and started a fire in the turbolaser battery, it could proceed to the magazine, and then...
Immediately the droid sent the data back, marking the weak points and placing an aim point on the weak spot.

Niomie’s com board lit up notifying her that it had received a response from engineering. Without skipping a beat from her astrogation computations she accessed the file, gave it a quick glance and transferred the targeting data to the Ruusan’s weapons repeater screens at the captain’s station. “Reply from engineering cap’ transferring targeting data to your weapons control.” Her voice detached as she concentrated on her work, trying to resist the urge to look out the view port at the spectacle of chaos that was about to revile it’s self. “Kick their ruttin’a** Ruusan!” she silently cheered her ship on.

R-22 spearheads began spilling out of the Maurader as Jag got the Data. The ships were moving closer. They underestimated the Ruusan's reach.
"One Keldabe Kiss comming right up." He said as he fired the club. The Russan's Club roared to life, white Ion Bolts spaning the void between the ships in aheartbeat to slam like a shockboxer's fist into the lead Pirate Vessel. "Angle the bow to face that Light Corvette. The Ion Cannon is locked on."
Turbolaser bursts from the Maurader began to flash against the thick shields of the Ruusan shaking the ship slightly as the R-22s began scattering about trying to peck the Ruusan to death. The Ruusan's club continued to beat against the Maurader in retaliation, her forward cannons remaining silent until the Light Corvette was before them.

"What the hell?" Gairus asked as he sat still in his bunk. "Who's attacking us?" He stood, and stumbled over to his travel pack, reached in, and pulled out his repeater. He also slipped into his armored vest. "Now I'm ready for a boarding party!" He said to himself.
