Leaning back in her chair, Aya looked around the kitchen. Nothing had really changed. As her mother continued to work on the food, Aya continued to speak. "I guess the water would become like syrup and trap my target. If I'm able to do that, then I can just use the syrupy water as a medium to take chakra from them. I think it will help if I'm ambushed by several enemies," Aya said, thinking tactically again. Even if Aya didn't use the technique with the chakra absorption, she could still use it as a great technique in battle. She hadn't really taken time to look over the scrolls that Tomoko had left behind in her tree house, but she was sure that it was written down. If it wasn't written down, Aya was sure she would be able to figure it out. Ninjutsu came easily to Aya. The invention of her Mizufunka was a direction product of Aya's knowledge in Ninjutsu. She only wished she had that knowledge in eseijutsu as well, so she could learn the techniques of her clan more easily.

Yuki flipped the eggs in the pan as she listened to her daughter talk about Ichi, Tomoko and battle tactics. A heavy sigh left her chest as she thought about Ichi's current state. It didn't cross Yuki's mind often since she had so many pressing matters to deal with in the village. The woman hadn't even seen the Kage in his statue form, so she still had the impression that Ichi was lost to them. "I'm glad your focusing on Ichi, Aya," Yuki complimented her daughter as she began to chop up the spinach. "Tomoko will never be allowed on this island again. She brought more Meho's here and caused a ruckus. She comes and goes as she pleases and its making the village insecure. Our location has been told to too many people," Yuki explained. She never did like Tomoko, but Tomoko had admired Ichi the moment she met him. The girl didn't listen to anyone else and now that the Uchiha was gone, there was no controlling Tomoko. "I'm glad you're thinking of improving that technique. Since its clear to me you're focusing on Ninjutsu and Eseijutsu, you'll need quite a bit of chakra to keep up with yourself and others," Yuki said, helping Aya carefully think the technique through.
+5 To Aya "Yea... " Aya said, taking in what her mother said and remembering all the times she had passed out from using chakra she really didn't have. Aya knew that she had more chakra than most people, but it still wasn't enough to satisfy her use of ninjutsu and eseijutsu. "I always try to keep a reserve to aid at least one person," Aya began to explain, "But I'm always running out. I've taken up trying to learn some sword skills, but I'm not doing very well with my self-teaching now that Kana is sick..." Aya said, drifting off to a gloomier place as she thought about Kana sweating and oozing plasma at home. She buried her head into her arms as she leaned forward on the table. Yuu and Huwei better be taking good care of Kana.

Yuki smiled as the thoughts of her daughter poured out. She was rather proud of how tactical Aya had become. However, there seemed to be a gloomy cloud over her daughter. Not only was it due to Kana being ill, but there was something else as well. Something was bothering her dear Aya and she didn't know what. Finishing up breakfast, Yuki brought it to the table. "Breakfast is ready!" Yuki's loud voice penetrated the walls of the house like an alarm to let the others know that the food was on the table. Sitting down with her daughter, Yuki decided not to bring up the subject. It may be partly due to the fact that she was without Kana. Aya was depressed for awhile when Kana was overseas at his village. Yuki suspected that was a heft dose of it. "You're a smart girl, darling. I'm sure you'll work out the chakra absoprtion technique with the syrup technique you're speaking off. It might be harder since water is unstable compared to the earth," Yuki warned her, bringing up a valid point.
+5 to Aya Aya's head perked up as her mother mentioned the factor of an unstable element. It was true that the absoprtion technqiue worked best with earth. Aya couldn't imagine how hard it would be with fire or wind, but Aya knew she had to infuse it with her element. She wasn't strong enough to grapple enemies and take their chakra. "Thanks!" Aya said cheerfully as her mother put the food down on the table. Helping herself to some rolled eggs and steamed spinach, Aya was happy to get such a good breakfast to start off her day.

(Enter Spring, Day 3)
Akiko began her drowsy journey from dreamland to the waking world. In that hazy state of being, she couldn't quite tell where her dreams ended and reality began, but she was aware enough of the outside world. She knew that it was still dark out, she knew that it was chilly, and she was absolutely certain she didn't want to venture out into that world just yet. She wanted, more than anything, to fall back asleep and stay in her warm bed. However, one whiff of her aunt's cooking provided a compelling rationale to surrender to the advent of the coming day. Akiko stood up, shoved the hair out of her face, and stumbled out of her... room? When did she get here? The last she remembered, she was crying into her mother's shoulder... that explained it. She must have fallen asleep while embracing her mother. But... why? She was still groggy, so her memory wasn't exactly perfect.
She worked her way over to the shower, her eyes half-closed and a bit puffy. Her time there was relaxing, certainly, but she used her time efficiently. She simply got herself clean and pleasant-smelling before drying off and returning to her room. She looked through her closet for about seventeen seconds before deciding upon a peaceful kimono printed with spring flowers. She got herself dressed and hurried down to the kitchen table. After bowing politely, she looked about and saw her aunt and cousin already seated there. She sat next to her cousin Aya. "Good morning!" she chimed, fully roused from her dreary awakening.

Aya turned her head after popping a bit of egg in her mouth. She gave Akiko a toothless smile as she came into the room with a nice ring to her voice. "Ohaiyo!" Aya returned the greeting after swallowing her egg and returning a bright smile. "Are you ready for your first day of construction?" Aya asked Akiko, continuing her smile. Shimagakure rose and fell many times since its beginning. Learning to build something from the ground up was all part of being a citizen of the village and not a shinobi. Tilting her head, Aya tried to remember that little remark about being a citizen of the village. "My first building project was the clinic," Aya told Akiko as she took a piece of spinach and mowed down on it. The teenager wasn't going to bring up the fact that today was Akiko's day to say good-bye to her family. "Oh, yea! I bet you didn't know! The apartment building the other students stay in was burnt to the ground yesterday," Aya said in excitement as she realized she could share the news with someone for the first time."Aya! Its your fault that the building burnt down! Do not discuss it so happily," Yuki said sitting down at the table in quite a huff as she began tearing apart her roll of egg into edible pieces. "We'll be working hard today, because of your irresponsibility to watch over Kazuma. Akiko, darling, never get mixed up with a Kun' Kumo. At least do that much for your dear Aunt," Yuki requested of Akiko before she began eating her breakfast. As she did, Midori, Koyuki and Ayumi came into the kitchen. They were fully dressed with packs, ready to go. "My, my! Aren't we in a hurry now? Come sit and eat before we have to say our good-byes," Yuki said, offering chairs to her sister, nephew and daughter. Ayumi still wasn't aware what was going on, but Yuki didn't want to see her baby girl cry! Midori shook her head at Yuki's request. "I'm sorry Nee-chan, but Koyuki and I get seasick easily. A delicate tummy like Ayumi's would get sick as well," Midori mentioned as she picked up Ayumi. "We'll be heading down to get our things on the boat. Do come see us off?" Midori asked, mostly looking to her daughter, hoping that she would have the strength to say good bye at the boats after letting it all out last night.

Now that Akiko was alert, she found herself better able to focus. It was nothing like the day before, since she had been working on very little sleep. Today, everything was back to a normal level--her emotions, responses, energy, and especially her chakra. She wasn't consciously moving it, but she could sense it flowing around her a little better. She'd have to think about that later--now was the time for eggs. She never liked to talk that much while she ate, but she obliged those who did. For one, Aya seemed in a particularly talkative mood. "Construction?" she asked, unfamiliar with any such lesson that Aunt Yuki would have put forth. As far as Akiko knew, she was most knowledgeable in jutsus, healing, and alchemy. Construction didn't sound like something in her repertoire, so odds were that she'd be under someone else's care today. Hanma's, perhaps? Akiko continued to eat and listen as Aya volunteered new information. She didn't remember being told about any fire, as Aya mentioned, but she did remember seeing some smoke while making her way back home last night. Perhaps that explained it. Akiko watched on as Aunt Yuki stepped in. When she insisted that Akiko never have dealings with a Kun'Kumo, she was a bit confused--she didn't know who that might be. Either way, she replied with a polite, "Yes, Aunt Yuki."
The rest of her family filtered into the room, forcing Akiko to suddenly recall the decision she made the night before. She couldn't remember everything--she knew that, for some reason, it wasn't safe for everyone to live in the village anymore, and a lot of people were heading back to the mainland. Akiko wasn't. She needed to stay--she simply had to. She had promised herself that she'd become stronger so she could find what she was looking for. She can't recall if she told anyone how she felt, but it seems that everyone else had guessed what she wanted. As her mother stopped in the doorway, Akiko's eyes darted to the side. For some reason, she felt ashamed. She knew that her decision came with a cost, and for some reason she felt that her mother might judge her for it. After all, she was saying "goodbye" to her, rejecting all the years of love and care given to her.
Why now? Why was it so hard for her to say good-bye? Something was pulling at the strings of her heart...
For now, she pretended. She would fake her emotions until she could make them genuinely. She smiled sweetly to her mother and said, "Of course, I wouldn't miss it for the world." The smile was flawless, as if her face were carved out of stone. But, underneath, she truly wondered if she would have the strength to attend.

"I'll help you carry your things, Aunt Midori," Aya said, getting up from her seat since her plate had been cleaned quickly of the breakfast that Yuki had made. She would have guessed that Kazuma probably slept in one of the battered down fishing houses that were scattered across the shoreline. The girl still really wasn't sure what to say to him other than let him know that this was his last time on Shimagakure. Grabbing a few packs and slinging them over her shoulder, Aya then reached out a hand for Ayumi. "Ayumi-chan! Come ride on your nee-chan's shoulders!" Aya said with a bright smile, but Ayumi didn't budge and only clung on tightly to Midori. "Aw~ Ayumi-chan," Aya pouted, but the girl remained hidden behind Midori even more. Aya realized just how much she was missing out on in the village now that her own sister wouldn't come to her. It was the price she was paying to stay loyal to Ichi."You haven't been around enough for Ayumi to get to know you, Aya. Don't be scaring her," Yuki told her daughter with a hefty sigh. Indeed, Aya was growing up, but she still had many things to learn. "We'll see you off, Nee-san," Yuki seconded after Akiko as she remained seated at the table. With quick waves and timid good-byes, Aya, Midori, Ayumi and Koyuki left the house with their things and headed to the shoreline, leaving Yuki and Akiko alone in the kitchen. It would be this quiet in the house for quite awhile until Yuki opened her doors up to new apprentices. She wouldn't do that for awhile though, since Akiko and Shinichi were her main points of focus on.
"Akiko-chan," Yuki said as she set down her chopsticks on her plate. "I know its very hard for you to say good-bye to your mother, but it is ten times harder for her," Yuki said as she wove her fingers into each other to form a pedestal to place her chin. "Your mother will be off in a safe and secure region that has no threat of attacks or even the slightest hint of danger. She will be safe with your brother in Shiyue. You, however, will be here in Shimagakure, which is a target for many dangerous groups to conquer. Your mother will be worrying day in and out wondering if you are alright under my wing. It may be hard, but be strong and do everything you can to assure your mother that you'll be alright," Yuki said, trying to open up her niece's eyes that she shouldn't be concerned with her own strengths and weaknesses right now, but the worries her mother may have.
Picking up her chopsticks and continuing to eat, Yuki had an idea pop into her head. "Why not go get your mother a departure gift? Perhaps a matching stationary, so that the two of you may write letters back and forth?" Yuki suggested as she took a modest bite of spinach. "There's several Ryo in my lab coat by the door you can have," she said once she had finished chewing her last bite before picking up another to consume.

Karite came up to the house his ussual attire was not dawned. He was dressed for war. His kunai earring in place his hair dark green hair unbraided and left hanging, his hands tapped up to the elbow and his gloves over his hands. The boy was not in the mood and today he was going to kill for the first time since the meho war. Walking into the Tenmoki house he wiped his feet at the door as bare as they were. Walking into the kitchen he put a hand on Kore's head to get him to sit down. "Yuki-sama, I have come back like you asked. Is there something you wanted to ask me? I have to get ready to leave for the mainland soon." Karite said the leather gloves making slight noises as he balled his fist. Samurai was on the menu tonight.
Kore followed behind Karite close finding it hard to breath. If he had some meat in his system maybe he would feel better. Listening to Karite's words and watching his hands the lion knew something was wrong. Something big was about to happen. Breathing in the air the lion sneezed, he would never understand what was with humans and wearing such strong scents.

Akiko watched as everyone began to filter out of the house. She wondered if, someday, her own family would treat her the same way as Ayumi just treated Aya--with fear and confusion. She knew it was hard on everyone, but the pain in Akiko's heart made it hard to concentrate on others'. Aunt Yuki's words, however, gave her something to think about. If she had felt uneasy before, she now felt quite guilty. How could she have chosen this? How could she do this to her mother?
She began to hate herself. She felt horrible, and she knew she couldn't do anything about it. Her mother was already leaving, and Akiko was going to make her worry and heartsick--she just knew it. She wanted to change her mind, to hop on the boat and just sail away, but she knew that she couldn't. It was a selfish desire, yes, but it was extremely important to her.
Akiko went over to the door and took a few ryo out of the pocket. Then, an idea popped into her head. She turned about and went upstairs. "I... I'm going to get ready, Aunt Yuki..." she stammered, worried and upset but focused on her task. Back in her room, she quickly grabbed a tiny, blank scroll and a pen. Setting to work, she began tapping at the side of the paper, trying desperately to think of just the right words. She chewed on the edge for a minute or two before finally setting the ink to paper. She began slowly, struggling with the words. Soon, though, her heart leaped out of the pen and onto the scroll, sending her into a flurry of writing. When she had written her piece, she blew on the scroll, making sure it wouldn't smudge when she rolled it up. Finally, she tucked it into her dress and, without a word, hurried into town.

"No! No! No!" Yuki said rising up from the table she had been eating at nicely as Kore and Karite came in. "There are no animals in my house! Out the back with you both!" Yuki said, opening the door for Kore and Karite to exit her kitchen quickly. Once they were outside, she put her hands on her hips. "And as you recall young man, you were coming to me for more training," Yuki corrected the boy, remembering that she had told him to go find Maya last night since it was late. The ruffian probably couldn't piece together that Yuki was telling him to come back for more training. "You want to learn Tsuchi no bunshin correct? Well, now is the time to apply what you've learned yesterday and work on the movements and working your style into your clones. The bunshin's are much harder to use than any other, as I've told you before. Create a bunshin and then practice attacking it. Your chakra has to hold it together for at least one punch. I want you to succeed at least three times," Yuki told him as she moved over to a bench to sit down and watch. "Now, tell me why you are leaving without the permission of myself? Did you request a boat pass from Shinichi?" Yuki asked Karite casually.
Train III - Technique Create the clone and attack it! You do not have to roll for your attack. Whether your clone can stay together or not will be determined by beating the Ninjutsu|Control DC. [Do not add chakra mod twice. Your Ninjutsu|Control will be Ninjutsu Ranks + Control Ranks + Chakra Mod] If you fail the DC, you must create another clone. DC: 30 1d20 + Ninjutsu|Control = Train: 3/3 Cp Cost: - 25 per clone Rewards: +Tsuchi bunshin no jutsu
Earth Clone Technique [Tsuchi Bunshin no Jutsu] This jutsu creates one or more identical copies of the user out of mud. There only needs to be earth nearby for the user to create a clone. The clones are physically real and can perform jutsu, but will turn back into mud when enough damage has been done. All earth clones have 1/4 (25%) of user's stats and cannot be controlled over long distances. Cp Cost: 25 per clone Damage: 25% that of the user Requirement: Ninjutsu 10, Character Level 5, Earth Affinity Seals: Boar, Ram, Tiger Avoid: Dodge [Treat as normal person] Detect check to differentiate fake from real. Special: If clone uses a technique, the cp cost comes from the user. Special: If opponent fails the sense/detect check and you choose to fight alongside with your clones, opponent rolls an additional "Luck" dice with their attack. This dice does not count towards their total dice roll. For them to hit you amongst all the clones, they must roll a 11 or higher. If they succeed +Luck Roll to next sense/detect roll against technique.

As she sat on the bench, waiting for Karite's answer, Yuki realized how high the sun was rising. She would be late to see her sister, daughter and nephew off. This information that Karite was giving her would be important to hear though... "Tch!" Yuki bit her lip and performed the seals for the technique that she was teaching Karite at this moment. An earth clone appeared next to her, standing beside her on the bench. The smoke from the creation would act as a veil as Yuki sprinted off from the bench. She would go see her family off herself while the clone listened to Karite and conducted his final training.

[entered from village]
Nadeshiko followed Aranami, who now had his grip on the crate back, down the path that lead to the front door of the Tenmoki household. The house seemed even bigger up front. Considering how he was busy with a large box, Nadeshiko thought it would be better for her to knock, and she ran right up to the door to do so.
She gave it one, tentative little rap, one that even she couldn't hear. Nadeshiko flinched, then took a deep breath and gathered her courage. It would be pathetic if she couldn't perform a task as simple as knocking ona door, the small voice in her head said mockingly. So this time around, Nadeshiko gave it a proper, resounding knock, several times over.

Yuki stood up from the bench. "Excuse me," the clone said as she left Karite to train while she answered the door. As she opened the door, the clone saw two beings. "Welcome to the Tenmoki Household," the replica of Yuki said. Since Yuki was rather skilled in ninjutsu, the children wouldn't realize that this wasn't the woman that was standing on the shoreline, but the same person. "Set your things down here along with the crate," the woman pointed out to a nice spot in the living room. "The washrooms are down the hallway," the clone pointed out. "Once you are ready, I will give you directions to the housing district," Yuki said with a smile as she folded her arms in front of her.

Aranami set down the crate gingerly in the spot Yuki had pointed out, then paused for a second. Turning to Yuki, he looked at her, wondering if they followed the easiest route on the map, how did she beat us here? "Sensei, you're fast." Was all he said as he turned down the hallway to go to the washrooms, so he could clean himself up.
