I've told several people already, but I've taken on two projects to try and explore the game system. Eri is of course doing the Sing skill. These are more suggestions than questions, but I want to make sure I'm training her properly. I'm gonna list training ideas as examples. I don't want approval for the trainings since I won't attempt anything until Eri's Sing is much higher. For the ideas to work, I've thought of Sing as more vocal control.
Mimic someone's voice
Description: Use your voice talent to imitate someone else.
Notes: Not sure if this is intruding upon Disguise, but I figure a person who can sing really well can alter the tones in their voice.
Bird Calling
Description: Attract nearby birds with a beautiful notes.
Notes: You can't do that with Handle Animal, right? Might be used for other animals but birds are the most believable.
Throw Your Voice
Description: Use your voice talent to cast your voice in a different location in order to fool anyone nearby.
Notes: This is the one I want the most, I hope to use it like a siren call to lure people into a trap.
Writing Music
Self-explanatory
Notes: You have to know the song notes to sing them, right? Also I think Sing should be used for playing instruments.
Those are the most basic ideas. Also, if Sing is made applicable the way I plan, would it be sense or detect to counter?

Also I think Sing should be used for playing instruments. not entirely true, I play guitar on remembering finger positions, I never learned how to read notes. Also, when singing a "well-known" song, does anyone know the notes? Don't think they do, they remember the height relative to other notes, but not the note itself, else i would be able to tab the national anthem of the Soviet Union in no time xd Reading and writing notes actually has close to nothing to do with the ability to sing or play an instrument, but of course, it could help a lot. wink

Baylu has used tumble quite a bit and we haven't issued a rule stating you have to use sprint to catch up to the tumbler. The idea has crossed our minds a few times, but in the end we thought it was unnecessary, but I actually liked the idea. ^^ That's something to bring up in the crew area, Karite.
Mimic Someone's Voice: That's a technique we have, I believe. However, this ties in with our genjutsu skills and other charisma skills. Depending on the scenario you could use disguise or lie.
Bird Calling: That would be sing with handle animal. When you reach level ten you can use skill conjuction. That would be a perfect example of that.
Throw Your Voice: I'm pretty sure we have that as a genjutsu as well.
Writing Music: Maybe we should change the sing skill to a different name, perhaps just the Music Skill?
Sense would be the counter since its a charisma skill.

Zu-kun Throw Your Voice: I'm pretty sure we have that as a genjutsu as well. I understand everything except this part. The closest we have to this is Unanswered Prayer, which is using genjutsu to project "thousands of voices" and can do harm. As just the skill alone, I was thinking the ability to project your voice, which an accomplished singer can do well. Or simple ventriloquism. And... let's not go so far as to change the skill >.> I'll keep working..

What would you use that for, throwing your voice? Making an enemy think you're one spot and then another? We can just add in that once you hit so many ranks of the Sing skill you'll be able to throw you voice. Or really do that with any of the charisma skills, I'd think.

Karite The Reaper I know this might be a little extreme considering I am trying to get to characters two gennin status. Would it be possible to create two beast at a certain level say 6 and 4 and role play a fight between My lion and Student with or without crew help? I ask knowing the answer will probably be no. It is kind of like hunting except taking it a step further so to speak.
also, if one were to roll a tumble with the attacker have to roll a sprint in order to close the gap and attack close quarters?
but can any crew answer the making beast question?

I just want to make sure I'm capable of doing something before I imply that I can do it. And like I said, it would be like a siren's call. I'm hoping Eri will learn the puppet technique from whoever called dibs on it and the person would be lured to a deadly puppet.

Who would I talk to make Karite a Schizophrenic Shinobi?
Also, what if someone is short a point or two to meet the qualifications of gennin? I am level 5, and I will have two skills that are 10 ranks, I am not sure if one of my stats will be 20.
