*walks in shyly*
"Hello everyone, I'm Adele and I just got sorted...Um, let's see-I'm 23, got married in Oct. '04 (yeah, yeah I know-an old married lady!), and I'm addicted to pogo, gaia, HP, and KH1&2. I already kind of know a few of you, but can't wait to get to know you all!"
"Now that I'm a student, maybe I won't be visiting you down in the Hospital Wing as much, Juni wink "
(It's kinda hard getting used to not typing like a house elf, hehe!)

Oh my God! I just read what I wrote and realized how much of an old lady I sounded! lol! Sorry...I swear, I may be 23, but really, I'm not THAT old! lol...
hmm, I've got an idea... idea How about I just make something else up? Okay...
"I'm Adele, and I just got sorted by the Sorting Hat-that was scary! I'm a first year and my parents took me on a Muggle airplane for the first time to get me to the Hogwarts Express from America. Let me tell you, I just KNOW that whoever came up with the airplane is really a Witch or Wizard-there's no way that Muggles could be able to get that big, heavy airplane to stay in the air without crashing! Maybe I should take Muggle Studies this term and see if I can find out! Anyway, I hope that everyone will like me and that I make a good Hufflepuff!" 4laugh

*Hope closes her eyes so as not to see the room, She bumps into a table of sorts in trying to get to the bulletin board, and is finally helped by a first year. The first year makes sure Hope doesn't stab her hand with the push pin. The first year then guides her to the exit, forgetting to tell her to duck when walking under a lower chandelier and Hope, being around 7 feet tall, hits her head on it just before leaving the common room*
Looking back to the board, it reads: Quote: Please come sign-up for Care of Magical Creatures! The class has been opened late and you get house points for signing up within the next five days! Thank you, Hope (CoMC Teacher)

Hi Adele! If it helps at all I turn 19 in May. And my big sister turns 23 in June, so you don't really seem all that old to me. However my sister isn't married...but that's ok...the boy friend she had in 2004 was weird...he walked funny... whee Sorry, I couldn't help my self...I love making fun of my sister's exboyfriend. But then again, I don't think it would be good if my sister settled down and got married...because that would mean that the next step would be kids...and, quite frankly, I don't think she should be able to care for children...she's a bit weird herself...she's decided that she's only going to let her kids hear the original versions of all those stories that Disney turned into movies...Like instead of Ariel (from the Little Mirmaid) living happily ever after with Eric, she commits suicide and Eric was never in love with her...I dunno...I think that kids should know that...I guess...but the disney versions are nice too... sweatdrop Anyways...Hi! You'll notice that I have a habit of rambleing... 3nodding

KTweirdchick @ Courtney- what famine? I swear I'm so far out of the loop for everything... xp The 30 Hour Famine, sponsored by World Vision to raise money to feed children world-wide. I did it with my school and I just came home from the after party. Basically you don't eat for 30 hours but you have to drink tons of water. And you collect pledges from people to send to places like Sri Lanka, Sudan and Kenya. It was really fun, aside from the fact that my friends who weren't doing it were sitting there taunting the rest of us with food biggrin

...that one's news to me. Only massive movement I heard of lately was the Day of Silence ...I believe that one involved gay rights.

I did that famine twice but over here in Aus it's the 40 hour famine and all the money goes to families and villages in Tanzania.

Junimaia ...that one's news to me. Only massive movement I heard of lately was the Day of Silence ...I believe that one involved gay rights. we had a gay rights thing the past wednesday.. but it wasn't silence... groups gave out these vibrantly colored shirts that said "Gay? Fine by me." it was crazy, I guess they started giving them out on monday at 7am and they were gone by like 9 eek school was very colorful that day...but it was really cool
Other than that, all I remember is a year or two ago when disney did a similar thing, they invited anyone who was gay or supported gay rights to wear red in the park for a whole week that was cool too, especialy becuase I went with (what was then) my boyfriend and he wore a red shirt without knowing what it meant there and was feeling all awkward all day because these flamboyant guys would smile at him as if they knew something...he was very homophobic about, actually... xp needless to say, he's no longer my boyfriend... 3nodding
