Akiko's face lit up at Kiante's approval and got ready to fight. But things seemed to digress a little, and so she relaxed to answer Zolx's question with a dubious look at her staff.
"I don't really know...I don't even know the names of the keychains most of the time. But it seems like a kind of boring one..." she pouted comically.
At that moment, Mickey interrupted his journey back to the front car to run into the room, shocked. "You're kidding," he told Akiko. "That's the Dream Rod. I gave you the very best one we had, except for Save the Queen, which Donald is using." And... he added silently, it's got the Disney Castle emblem on it. But he was slightly hurt by Akiko's rejection of the traditional "Mickey Mouse ears" and didn't mention it.
Akiko, oblivious, perked up immediately. "Dream Rod? I like the sound of that. Anyway, Zolx, it might help if I know how to fight with a sword." She didn't say she was hoping for a keyblade eventually, afraid she might come off as pretentious. "You never know. And my MP might run out," she giggled.
Without warning, she went for another bonk on Kiante's head, this time, though, paying a bit more attention to technique and whatnot.

"Of course it's a good idea, while that's not a sword, she still needs to know how to strike. Certain things apply to most every weapon. Even your fists." Kiante said, in reply to Zolx's question.
Kiante laughed realizing she didn't know it was the Dream Rod. When she attacked him with it again, this time he was quick enough to sidestep, and he easily avoided the attack. "That's your next lesson. You always use more power than you were before, use more muscles, but DON'T always use your full-strength. It'll be easier to dodge, and it'll tire you out pretty quickly." He said, as he poked her side with his sword, carefully so as not to actually wound her.

"Using more strength won't always help in a fight," Mika spoke from the doorway. she'd gotten bored and went to watch the fighting. "Often it will result in exhaustion and eventual death." I killed Sora enough times trying to do that. "Timing is everything as is watching for weak spots."

Akiko couldn't repress a little laugh when the sword tickled one of her vulnerable spots. She shook her head and lamented, "Am I the only one who doesn't actually have a strategy but just hacks and slashes?"
Looking at the crowd now gathered in the room, she grinned and struck a pose. "What's this, everyone come to admire my awesome fighting technique?"
It wasn't long before she walked to the CD player and slid in some Japanese techno--probably her only non-Utada Hikaru CD. Then she turned back to Kiante. "Okay, enough talking, bring it on, dude."
((I thought our new evil dude was coming back, but he hasn't posted yet...so if things don't change soon I'm gonna move things ahead...anybody got anything they wanna do before we move on? Oh and we still need a Riku substitute until those two can come back.))

"Oh Mickey I have a question. Do you know if this means anything? I got it from Kairi's Keyblade but somethings off about it." Zolx held out the charm and let it dangle by it's chain. It was a small version of the Oath keeper charm, much like the one on Kairi's weapon. The only thing was that it was almost solid black with gold tips instead of the natural shell colors of an opal-like white and pink. "I haven't used it yet because it didn't match up like the rest have so far. I mean the I got from Sora matches charm wise and I still haven't figured out where that star one came from. This one, just doesn't feel right."

"Exactly." Kiante said, commenting on Mika's comment.
In response to Akiko's question he answered, "Yeah, probably so." He chuckled.
He got back into a fighting stance, "Okay, let's go then!" He said, doing another three quick slashs on one on his right, two on his left.

Akiko's face totally transformed. Her brows lowered and she set her jaw, until her expression was one of total concentration.
To her surprise and delight, she parried the first two attacks, and dodged the last.
No way! It was like one of those dancing games or guitar games or something. You just had to think fast and hit the right spots at the right time...kinda.
Now thrilled that she was for once forcing her brain to work quickly, it wasn't hard to really get into it. She made two diagonal strikes, making a nice, neat X in front of her.

"You are far from being a princess of anything," Mika told Zolx. "Perhaps it's feminine origins are clashing with your masculinity."
It was a very pretty keychain though, and Mika was actually somewhat jealous that everyone was getting keychains.
"Or perhaps it has to do with the fact that you've copied it instead of finding one of your own, instead working with a mere shadow instead of an original."

Kiante dodged Akiko's first strike, but he wasn't expecting her next, very well aimed, attack. He got hit right on the chest, thankful that it wasn't sharp. "Ow, that was good Akiko! Now we'll show em' a good fight!" He said.
Kiante backed up a step or two, then began slowly coming toward Akiko, slashing with every step. The first was a diagonal slash, then a horizontal slash, then a swift thrust to her abdomen, though he made sure he didn't get it too close.

((Sorry I forgot...so long without playing Mickey got me into a bad habit. Now I'm so used to not playing him...))
Akiko laughed at Mika's answer, and then smiled childishly at Kiante's evaluation. Maybe she wasn't as terrible as she thought she was. Hooray!
She eyed Kiante warily, tensing every muscle, and parried the first attack succesfully. The continuing approach made her nervous, though. She fumbled her staff in a hurry to escape the next slash, which she registered too late, and it dropped to the floor. The last, she jumped backwards, making sure her tummy was as far from the sword as possible, with a squeak of surprise.
Quickly, she dropped to the floor, grabbed her staff, and immediately thrust it upwards at Kiante's chin, keeping her feet fully on the ground so she'd be able to get up quickly once her staff *hopefully* made contact.
~~~
Mickey looked at Zolx curiously. "Hm...I'm not quite sure. That's...that's interesting. I've never seen that before. May I?" Without waiting for an answer, he carefully took the charm and studied it closely. "As weird as it sounds," he added with a smile, "maybe there's something in Mika's explanation. Either of them."
((I fail at combat... >.> How did I get myself into this? Lol))
"No, I copied Sora's and got a basic Kingdom version of my weapon. the charms was still the same. I I think I got the before that from who ever we were fighting."__________________________________________________________________________________________________ Sora: "During which you attacked Kya, The King AND swung randomly above his head while quoting everything Akiko said,"Sora pointed out. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ "Not what I'm getting at. I'm saying since I already had a Kingdom charm I could have copied the Kings. The only one that has weapon similar to a Star is Kya since she knows Holy. But this charm is different the the weapon I copied, it's like I got part of something else."
Mickey dangled the thing in front of his face, not taking his eyes off it. And pointedly choosing to ignore the comment about attacking each other. The conversation was dangerously approaching the territory of what he himself had done in that dark hour...
"This is...absolutely amazing. I've never seen anything happen like this before."
After a couple seconds, he turned his attention to Zolx himself, with a critical gaze.
~
Akiko totally forgot about her fight with Kiante when Sora's comment happened to reach her ears.
She let gravity take her until she was sitting once again on her rear, and looked up at Sora, red totally covering her face. And Akiko never blushed. Never.
"You--you heard me?" she said, so quietly she could barely be heard.
Sora: "Well yeah, it was hard not to with Zolx repeating everything, tough he did seem to say a few lines on his own, they with what you were saying though. Is it a song around here or something?"He turned to after he said it. Seeing Akiko on the floor and jumps and seemed quite confused, "Bu- wait- what did I say?"__________________________________________________________________________________________________ Zolx met eyes with Mickey and felt uneasy settle in him, his wing ruffled silently. Coolly he said "I still haven't quite figured out how it works but this one definitely does feel right, it's it does warm in your hand like it should, almost hesitantly."
Akiko's face looked just as the world had ended. Not only had they seen her act like a total miserable fool, but apparently they had known just what was going through her head...I mean, anyone could connect the lyrics of the song with...and, what's more, what kind of psychotic loser sang when she was scared, like a little kid scared of the dark?
"Yeah," she mumbled out, "yeah, it's from my favorite singer, Utada Hikaru...it's called Keep Tryin..."
The Japanese techno seemed to mock her, playing in the background. She shook her head, and stood up. Here she was again, making a scene. She glanced apologetically at Kiante for interrupting once again.
Sora: "W-woa! it's no big deal or anything! We all do strange stuff when we get scared!" It sounded lame even in to him but he could think of what else to say. He rubbed the back of his head and looked at her apologetically.
