I think that even if he didn't die, they would have pushed the boundary lines further with the subtext so that it was approaching maintext. They'd still make it so you were still "wondering", but they'd make it easier to guess whether or not they're in a relationship. ... or they could just throw a sex scene in there and say that Gabby and Xena are happily married.

nawwww they wouldnt get rid of deh subtext gonk deh not knowin ish whut its all about! whee everyone i talk to ONLY knows xena for being a lesbian somthin or other so i think theyd show some not subby stuff so people would be like OMG whut!? eek theres more to it!? eek
