This takes too much concentration, thought Mitsuko as she made the shell. I'll be dead before I can pull this thing out. If only I can expel the chakra from the center of the tiger, then the ice will form naturally on the outside. Mitsuko found Rouga and asked him to perform the technique again. As Rouga performed the handseals, she noticed that the shell of the tiger forms first, and most of the chakra forms on the outside of the tiger.
That means the tiger is created from the outside first, and then the inside is frozen as the attack progresses, thought Mitsuko as the tiger charged across the snow.
Mitsuko was kind of frustrated, this was supposed to be a simple technique according to Rouga, but here she was, stuck!

The lake is frozen for 10 months of the year. A skin of ice appears and covers the entire surface in one day. "Hyōton: Haryū Mōko!" shouted Mitsuko as she cast the tiger on the surface of the rarely defrosted lake. The coldness of the jutsu instantly froze the surface so the tiger didn't even touch water. This still takes too much concentration to form, thought Mitsuko. But it was much easier to form the tiger on water than soft snow. The snow has to be compressed to make ice, but water freezes instantly and can mold into any form you wish.
What if I melt the snow around me and then form it into ice? Thought Mitsuko. Then I wouldn't have to waste chakra in compressing snow. I just have to melt the ice.

With increasing practice, the jutsu became easier to do. All Mitsuko had to do was melt the ice and create an aura of freezing chakra that freezes the water and the tiger is formed. Rouga did not think it was very efficient, but Mitsuko was improving.
The problem at hand was the speed of melting the snow. To Rouga it seemed like a step backwards and then two step forwards but Mitsuko thought that this was the only way. The tiger was larger than the wolf but smaller than the whale. If the temperature wasn't that low, then it wouldn't be as powerful as the wolves or the whale.
"Enough!" said Rouga, as Mitsuko started making another one. "I shall test your progress." Rouga thought for a moment and then smiled.

"have your tiger leap through the air and feeze a path in it. If it doesn't collapse when i walk on it, you've mastered the technique."
Mitsuko had to clear out her ears. Was there even enough moisture in the air to freeze? If she starts freezing it from the ground, then the tiger wouldn't be able to move. Mitsuko grimaced and held on to her dignity. There was only one way out of this. She must gradually melt the tiger as it travels and immediately refreeze it to form a different shape.
Rouga smirked. This was actually an impossible task. He would laugh if the little twerp actually managed to freeze a path in the sky.

At least he has no idea what I'm about to do, thought Mitsuko as she took a deep breath. "Hyoton: Haryu Moko!!" The snow around her melted instantly and recombined to form a large tiger. Mitsuko felt the coldness on her skin and was happy to feel it for once in her life.
Rouga watched as the tiger ran and then prepared to leap. The grass around the tiger snapped as they were turned instantly into icicles. The tiger took a huge leap and left behind a strange winding path in the air. Rouga gritted his teeth in anger. The kid actually did it. He was so caught up in this that he didn't notice the path increasing in thickness.
By the time Rouga walked up to test it, the path was as wide as a tree trunk. "You know things look smaller from a distance."said Mitsuko as she wiped the icicles that formed on her brow. xp

"Kakuyoku Fubuki" said the tall woman as she came through the door. "Rouga has assigned your training to me." Mitsuko was glad to have a woman sensei for once. Haku was half and half, so that didn't count.
"I understand that Rouga has been teaching you offensive techniques only. So I shall teach you a defensive one."said Fubuki. "Are you ready to learn Ice Prison Technique?" Mitsuko nodded, but didn't know if ice prison technique was defensive.
"This technique can trap your opponent or protect yourself with walls of ice." But enough talking, let's see if you can do it.

"To trap your enemy, create pillars."
Mitsuko focused and six columns of ice rose out of the snow. Fubuki smiled and nodded. "You should create the pillars right at the feet of your opponent in order to take them by surprise." Mitsuko created a bunch of pillars around a piece of rock just for accuracy. "You must then crush your opponent or freeze them to the pillars to stop them from escaping. Once you finish this, seal the top of the cage."
Mitsuko nodded again , but she was disappointed at how easy this jutsu was, she guessed that she was expecting too much.

That night Mitsuko thought about ways to make the attack more effective. If she just makes a dome, would it be easier? That will make the jutsu harder to perform though. She knew that the speed of the jutsu was also very important. If this jutsu worked inconjunctiion with one-horned white whale, it can be massively damaging. Then the whale would have to travel faster too.
There was one problem, what if the opponent can dig holes? She must also seal the bottom in case they escape that way. Thinking until she could no longer think, Mitsuko fell asleep.

"You see this swallow", said Fubuki as she made a cute little bird out of snow. "If you can trap this swallow while it's flying, you can trap anything." Mitsuko was a little disappointed in hearing this. Fubuki was sounding like Rouga.
Pillar after pillar rose until half the field was covered in pillars of ice. And then the pillars stopped rising. The swallow was caught. Mitsuko collapsed from exhaustion and lack of chakra. Fubuki smiled, thinking about her younger days as a ninja. Now it will go a lot faster. Once a breakthrough is made, the training will be easier.

"The defensive prt of this technique is to raise a protective wall of ice. A skilled shinobi always has a method of defense." lectured Fubuki.
Mitsuko took a deep breath and created a large wall in front of her. Fubuki smiled and created many swallows from the snow. "If you don't get hit by these swallows, then I will acknowledge you of having learned this technique." With that said, She started guiding swallows around Mitsuko. Mitsuko felt a sharp coldness as something crashed into her neck.
Using her ninja senses, Mitsuko created wall after wall as the swallows kept advancing. She marveled at Fubuki-sensei's sense of coordination.

By the end of the day, Mitsuko was covered in snow but Fubuki seemed satisfied. "you were hit by 33 swallows out of 682" said Fubuki, "that is very good, but you must always remember never to enclose a complete shield around you. While this might seem like a good defense, it also traps you in your own ice trap." With that said, Fubuki left for the day.
Mitsuko got up when a great idea suddenly hit her. What if she made the pillars spin rapidly around the opponent when trapping them? That would disorientate them just as much as trapping them.
Burdened by the weight of her own genius, Mitsuko kept training.

Mitsuko looked fondly at her abandoned house. It felt good to be backin hidden snow after the Chuunin exams. She was kicked out of the 3rd round but she was still promoted chuunin. She thought about the people who died. What was there to say? Mitsuko decided not to called her sensei today.
Openening a bowl of Ramen, there was not much she can do. Mitsuko drew her katana and watched the light bounce off it. She hasn't really explored this house to some extent yet, so why not do that now? Mitsuko took about 7 steps and fell through the floor.
It was a hidden basement, but there wasn't anything interesting escept for piles of wood and a whole lot of bugs. Mitsuko sighed and prepared for an extreme makeover.

Mitsuko shifted a bunch of wood out of the way and discovered a whole in the wall. Feeling kinda stupid, Mitsuko walked into the hole and started exploring. There were stairs going up and she followed them, drawing her katana just in case.
After a while, there was obviously no more need for the katana. There was nothing here. The stairs just went on and on and on. Mitsuko kept walking until her head hit the wall.
Cursing herself and the wall, Mitsuko opened the door and felt a cold blast of wind scourge her body. There was also a huge burst of light that burned her sinuses. Stepping out, she found that she was at the top of an icy hill. There was a path that lead to the top of the mountain, there was a temple-like building on the top.

The temple was unguarded, or ast least it looked unguarded. There hasn't been any one here for ages. Mitsuko opened the door and stepped in. There was a giant statue of an eagle inside.
The eagle had outspread wings and looked like it was about to collapse any minute now. There was a cylindrical object clamped in its beak. It appeared to be a scroll, but it was hard to tell. Mitsuko climbed up the back of the eagle and scaled it's height. It WAS a scroll, and probably an important one too.
Gingerly, Mitsuko took the scroll from the beak of the eagle. She spread it opened and read the contents. There was a single name written on the scroll and a picture of a large eagle.
This must be a summoning scroll! Thought Mitsuko just as the platform underneath her began to shift.

Suddenly, it was no longer a stone eagle underneath her. It was a real eagle. Before Mitsuko could react, it took off and Dumped Mitsuko and her scroll on the floor of the temple. Knowing it could possibly come back, Mitsuko grabbed the scroll and ran out of the temple.
The eagle spotted her and veered off its course, coming down at a terrific speed. Wondering why she always gets herself into these situations, Mitsuko drew her katana and hurled a bolt of lightning at the beast.
The lightning didn't harm the eagle, but appeared to change its trajectory in the air. Instead of crashing into Mitsuko, it crashed into the path, sending down an avalanche of snow. Mitsuko spotted the exit and ran towards it, and making handseals. The snow that was about to cover the exit turned into wolves nad scattered, leaving the exit open.
Mitsuko went in and closed the door behind her. With her new scroll in her hand, Mitsuko walked off feeling an odd sense of victory.
