"Th'poin' isn' his music, th'poin' is he's gay and he flaun's i'," We`rika gave one last booty shake before giving it a rest.... for now. "Besiiides I dun have time ta listen ta music. I'mma either workin' or sleepin'..." He shrugged matter-of-factly. He had no life. It kind of sucked.

"Oh!! OH OH!! I have a kid! Well... sorta, I mean... he ain' my seed, ya know?" Another blank stare. Stuttering as he tried to think, We`riak turned around and grabbed Sevilin and his cup.

"Eeeee!!" The little frei squealed in fright, splashing the punch on himself in the process. "Whaaaat?" He frowned at his guardian, licking what he could of his face frantically.

"This is S--"

"Oh, I remember you!!" The little sea dragon gobbled up the last shred of personal space Ravi possessed, smiling so brightly. "From the uhhmm.. flower booth! Uhhh.... uhmmm..."

Alex grinned at the two, leaning against the arm of the chair, patting the holster on her exposed leg. "I guess video games actually came to be useful for once. I made Brad - my brother - dress up as Leon." Of course, the young woman had no idea that the two didn't know what she was talking about, but it wouldn't be the first time either.

She fell silent as she listened to Aphismet's description, her eyes crinkling at the sides as a gentle smile lit her face. It seemed that she was right, in that the irony in dressing up had really just stripped everyone to show themselves as they really were. "I like that, Aphi," Alex complimented him kindly, "it suits you really well." The warmth extended to Isi as well as her green eyes flit towards him. "And you, dear Isi..." She paused, before quoting, "Si può? Si può? Signore! Signori! Un nido di memorie. Even the show is about living human beings...an act where the actors have yet to vesti la giubba. Somehow it all fits well with you."

The woman, despite not knowing what the brothers had been through, was awfully proud of them, as made obvious by the way she regarded them with kind eyes and an encouraging smile. Alex might never know what they went through, but she had faith in them all the same. Feeling that the situation was becoming somewhat heavy and serious, she drew the gun from her holster, spinning it on her index finger before replacing it expertly. "Do either of you even play video games? Do you even know what one is?" She grinned teasingly, jutting out her lower lip to blow her bangs from her eyes.

Ravi's eyes widened with realization as the floating cloth bag identified Ravi as having been at the flower booth during the last Lab Event. Oh! This was Sevilin, one of the Lab's increasing number of Raevans. They tended to gravitate around events as much as non-owners seemed to - only, well, perhaps more literally. The effeminate Raevan was dressed in costume as everyone else was, though Ravi could only guess what the Raevan was supposed to be.

...actually, no. He didn't have that much of an imagination.

Regardless, he spoke a surprised, "Sevilin!" upon seeing the beautiful Raevan again - though in this costume, he was certainly a diamond in the rough. The hair did have a certain charm to it, of course, a charm that reminded him of a certain mohawk-donning Huichol...

Ravi sputtered again. Wait. What? We`rika had a... kid? No, a... a charge, a charge, and that charge was, of all things that were unlike We`rika... Sevilin?!

Maybe We`rika meant his cup that he'd grabbed. Yes. Of course a person could father a cup. I mean... he'd seen stranger things.

"...How did... that happen?" he asked, perhaps a bit more frankly and ruder than he would have said to any other lab-goer. Well, such was We`rika. He that lies down with dogs shall rise up with fleas.

He was so shocked that he forgot to be happy that We`rika's son wasn't his true flesh and blood. There was one set of genes that didn't need to be spread... well, as far as groping-in-public mannerisms went.

Like a heavy cloud filling up his chest, he also realized something else, something much more shameful than sex addicts bearing offspring... We`rika, of all people, We`rika, who Ravi considered to be one of the least responsible people he knew, We`rika.

We`rika had gotten his Raevan before he had.

Ravi suddenly felt very, very contemptible. Despite his doctorate, his studies, his knowledge, and his hard-working ways... despite all this, We`rika must have worked even harder. And he'd insulted the man?

He felt... ashamed...

"R..."

"Ravi,"

"Yes! That one!! Hi!! Did you uhmm... like the seeds? Did you give them all to Vyn or did you 'plant' some?" Sevilin was all but hanging on Ravi as he blabbed on and on. "Did y--eeee!" His rein of bubbly sugar terror ended as We`rika pulled him back by his little pigtails.

"Shi' if I know!" We`rika laughed wholeheartedly, not really catching the derision in his friend's voice. He held his Raevan in a tight hug, even as Sevilin tried to squirm out of the affection. "Of all people, righ'? Apparen'ly Chloe didn' know abou' my parole officer haha!" The shaman shrugged, fixing two of Sevilin's bobbing ponytails. "He didn' have a home so I... took him in..." He knew Sevilin didn't like to hear or talk about it much, so he kept the subject minimal.

Ravi offered a weak smile. Though We`rika was a bit rough with his hands on the Raevan, as he was with seemingly everyone, Ravi noted that the two did possess a certain closeness. How long had We`rika been taking care of the Raevan? Since the last event? Perhaps even before? Why hadn't We`rika told Ravi? Did he think that maybe Ravi couldn't get a Raevan for himself?

N-no, that wasn't the way to be thinking. The Raevans weren't objects, or privileges, or trophies. The way We`rika softened his tone of voice for Sevilin was evidence of that. Ravi had been thinking of everything wrong, so wrong... had he ever thought of the Raevans as little more than objects?

Perhaps he needed to plumb the depths of his soul before he robbed some creature of its own. That soul was a life and a spirit, not an extension of his own ego.

He responded, "No, I just gave those seeds to Vyn. Maybe we could plant some seeds together another time." He looked over to We`rika, trying to look composed, though he was worried that his discomfort might show on his face more than he'd like it to. "Th-that was... very kind and well-thought of you, We`rika."

Vyn drifted slowly into the lively house, amber eyes wide under dark lashes and her rosy rune glowing exceptionally bright from excitement. This place was damp and dark, and the young shadow Frei liked it immediately. She had been given a lot of amazed stares along their way here, and as such the quiet Raevan couldn't help but hold her chin up a little higher than usual. Evidently, the Halloween genie costume Shuura had picked for her really made her look "fabulous", like the dark-skinned walker in the clothing store...."Sa-sa"...had said. However, the Raevan had obstinately refused to remove the rose crowning her head, no matter how many times Shuura told her that it clashed with the outfit.

"Go at it," Shuura was now egging on Vyn gleefully. "Just don't do anything stupid. Or if you do, clean up after yourself, cuz I'm not going to." Hell would freeze over before Shuura would pass Halloween, her holiday, with a bunch of nerds in some old abandoned house. She had much better parties to attend to, bars to hop, and clubs to stir up, and this lab thing couldn't have cropped up at a better time. Now she could go off and do whatever she wanted without having to worry about Vyn breaking anymore of the appliances at home or floating off through an open window or something. If Shuura had been dressed like a witch, she would've cackled, but as she was dressed as a slinky vampire hunter in tight leather pants and all, she merely allowed herself to smirk in satisfaction before stalking out the door. "Bye," she tossed back belatedly, a grudging hint of affection softening her usually gruff tone.

The sultry Frei merely flapped her wings in response, her eyes already looking off elsewhere. Small golden bells and flat golden disks ornamenting edge of her red genie top jangled and chimed softly as Vyn moved forward slightly. Where to go? The shadow Raevan glanced around, taking her time to decide.

(( Entrance ))

Lucretia stopped in the doorway as Kumoru opened it for her, and just looked about at the goings-on within. Then, a finger to her lips, she glanced back over her shoulder at her father. This was the right place, no? She still had no idea quite what was expected of her, or why they were here in this unfamiliar house with unfamiliar people, and why she had had to dress up... and why they were so late.

At the necromancer's urging, she finally drifted over the doorsill and into the place itself, fiddling with the thick white feathered boa around her shoulders with one hand and her mask with the other. She had been about as enthusiastic about costume shopping as her father had been at the time, but at her older brother Donat's urging, had agreed to go as an owl, at least. With a sigh, Lucretia held the mask on its short stick twirled with ribbons to her face, and peered through the eyeholes at the others, her gaze quickly falling on Vyn and Shuura.

Hoping she would recognize her father again in his unusual get-up, Lucretia gave him one last glance for memory's sake and slowly started to hover closer to the red and jingling female Raevan. She said nothing for the moment, but was clearly trying to see the other better.

The necromancer offered his Raevan a light pat on the shoulder as she floated away, hoping that she would not hate this party as much as she insisted that she would. There would be plenty of ice, he promised, and others like herself to talk to. She was mostly concerned that she would run into whomever that Roux character was, or, worse, Rivener. But, if nothing else, he figured it best to at least attempt to socialize. Best for both of them.

Kumoru had gone with a fairly unimaginative costume for himself as well, donning black pants and a long black coat to match that buttoned from the high collar to his waist, with tails in the front and back that hung to just above his black shoes. The collar stood up in the back, and over the coat was draped a short black mantle. He was afraid he would get too hot indoors, covered in clothes as he was, but the top hat that went along with the gravedigger outfit had required that he tuck all of his hair up into a bun to fit beneath it.

Brushing a white-gloved hand along his jaw in the motion of brushing a lock of hair away out of habit, he stood where he was and watched Lucretia, figuring he would allow the girl to make her own introductions if she wished it. He had not seen the other female Raevan before - and indeed was a bit surprised to see another one who looked fairly convincingly female, and not just like a very feminine man. With any luck, she and Lucretia would get along, so that his own charge would not be rushing to force him to leave so soon.

Lucretia's curiosity got the better of her, though, and after a few moments of studying Vyn, she called from perhaps just outside proper range of conversation, "Hello, who are you?" She kept her stylized owl mask up in front of her face for the moment, but continued to fiddle with the feather boa with her free hand.

(( ENTRANCE ))

Vyn swirled around at the sound of the strange voice, sending the golden ornaments into another fit of soft chimes. The sight of a floating being like her, but donned in such odd garments made her float back slightly until the Frei realized that the other one was holding something in front of her face. Drifting forward to see the stranger a bit better, Vyn's head tilted slightly to the side as she studied this feathery new floater in quiet curiosity.

She had seen that kind of thing before, although in quite smaller a form. The Shadow Frei had a quiet urge to pick the other up and put them in a tree, and briefly wondered if this very-feathered thing made the same kind of interesting, hooting noises (Shuura called them squawking featherbrains and mostly wanted to shoot them) as the ones that lived outside their window made.

"He llo..." she echoed coolly, golden eyes bright and unblinking.

"I am Vyn." Gold bangles jingled slightly as she crossed her hands together and placed them neatly in front of her, where her lap would be if the Frei had one. "....You...are new." Vyn had a little trouble pronouncing the last word, making it sound more like "noo". Jagged ribbon twirling gently, the shadow Raevan waited patiently for the other to identify themself.

Slowly lowering the mask, Lucretia peered over the feathers lining the top edge at Vyn. "I am new," she confirmed, her own speech a bit slow and careful, as though she was not yet fully used to talking. "My name is Lucretia."

She let the name hang in the air a moment, then lowered her mask as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Who else is here?" the Raevan began again, speaking a bit more quickly, though her tone remained fairly flat. "May I follow you for a while?" Kumoru had told her to make friends, and this other Raevan seemed interesting. Something about the thorns in Vyn's hair reminded Lucretia of herself.

Kumoru stepped into the house more, and looked about to see if any of the other Raevan owners he knew were nearby. Much as he wanted to fuss over Lucretia's forming bonds with her fellow Raevans, he figured she had been reluctant enough to come today.

"Hello," the necromancer said to Vyn in greeting, tipping his hat as well as he could without allowing his long hair to come spilling out. He glanced at Lucretia again, then stepped into the dining room and kitchen to see who was around there.

"Oh! Yes! We should!! We`rika doesn't have backyard, so we can't do it there... We need uhmm dirt and... grass, right? Do you have a backyard?" Sevilin didn't wait for Ravi's answer, he was too wired to float still in We`rika's arms and he squirmed like an alligator in its death roll. He heard We`rika yelp and was promptly freed to dart off back to his punch bowl.

"God! He's like a ca' on speed..." The shaman cursed and looked at his arm. Little punk tried to twist it apart! Where the hell did he learn that? The night would see if he got anymore candy anytime soon. Shaking his head, the Huichol leaned over and wiped his gloves of Sevilin's sticky drink onto his pants. He looked up at Ravi and frowned, ears falling by his neck. "Whas kind?"

[[Pools of Doom]]

There had been a serious lack of customers that had been trying to dunk Tsu. Maybe it was because that no one was hitting the target... maybe it was because other festivities were going on elsewhere... anyway you looked at it, Tsu was bored. Bored, cold, and now with the rum... quite drunk.

He scanned the crowd to see if any possible prospects would come up... but Shuu was too far away and would probably try to hit him instead of the target. Finally, his eyes rested on Kyou. This was for dunking a doc after all... and Kyou was a doctor. "Hey bro! You have some time? I have a proposition for you!" Tsu called out to Kyou with his nicest smile on. Hopefully he could reel in a replacement...

(( Pools of DOOM ))

As the night progresses, the night had become a little bit more chilly as well. Not to mention about the lack of people at the dunk tank. Poor Tsu... Kyou thought as he looked into the Shadow Chateau and Junk Shack, where everyone is. He rubbed his hands on his arms a little, almost wanted to run indoors to join them too when he heard Tsu calling him.

"Yes..?!" he turned back around to face Tsu on the dunk tank, raising his voice a little so that Tsu could hear him. "What proposition??" Though Kyou has a gut feeling of what it will be as his gaze fall onto the water tank.

[[Pools of DOOM]]

Yes! Tsu thought to himself as Kyou turned. It might not be too late to get inside and warm up a bit. Zave was still floating around somewhere in the backyard with Laz, he could make out white wings from an all black shadow.

"Well..." Tsu started out, trying on one of his more winning smiles. "Natsuki here just happened to bake this cake here for the person sitting above the dunk tank... and I know how much you like her cakes..."

...the bait is out there... reel in carefully....

"I was just wondering if you wouldn't mind... trading spaces with me. I'm don't really have too much of a sweet tooth, and I would like to explore some more of the party, if it's not to much trouble?"

Hopefully this didn't scare his little fish away.

(( Pools of doom ))

Kyou narrowed his eyes at Tsu as he spoke, he's almost convinced to just leave Tsu there to freeze into a popsicle.

"You know, I would've even offered myself to replace you even if you didn't mention about the cake." he spoke, a little coldness lining his tone. "I'm not a little kid you know!" Yes, that's right. Although however tempted he is, there are occasions for them and this is not it. He'd prefer to eat cake in a warm, indoors environment.

But, thankfully for Tsu, he isn't a heartless person. Tsu had been sitting there since he arrived, he deserves to have some time else where. "But alright, I'll trade places with you..." he curved the corner of his lips into a mischievous grin, "...only if you give me some of your rum!"

Tsu sighed, he once again had gone too far in what he said to his older brother. "I'm sorry, I know you would have probably helped me out if I had asked properly in the first place." Tsu apologized wholeheartedly. At last he could finally be off the hot seat... even if the seat was ice cold now. Sure it meant parting with REALLY good liquor, but he could always get some more later.

"Sure, you can have the rum, just give the flask back to Natsuki afterwards please? It was hers to begin with." Tsu said placing the flask carefully down away from the water to begin with. "Anyway... Feel free to come up here, so I can get down." Tsu said weakly. "I really do think my butt's frozen up here."
