Mr Crawley The only reason it's even being discussed right now is because the game isn't out for you to play already. If it was, no one would care. Isn't that why people discuss that about games in the first place? ._. Because it isn't out?

Eh.
Storyline isn't very good in fighting games. I mean, it's ok, but, it's background. Fighting games aren't really "story driven" like say... Fallout 3, where all you really have is story.

Point being, people discuss games whether they're out or not. @KB: It's definitely not the main focus, and not on par with stories in games like Metal Gear Solid and such. But some background stories have a lot more to them in a few fighting games. It's a lot more in the background for games like Dead or Alive and some others, but that also depends on the game modes you play. To say that Street Fighter or KOF has no plot would be a gross overstatement, to say the least.

What I'm saying isn't "people don't discuss games"
I'm saying that for Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Story and mainboss are ultimately irrelevant and unimportant topics.
As opposed to those two subjects being discussed within the realm of street fighter, KOF, or Tekken.
Marvel vs. Capcom franchise is extremely competitive gameplay focused. Along with playable character flair.
Who is boss and such nonsense are things to quibble over until you get the game. At which time you will immediately forget and debate tiers, strategies, combos, and so on and so forth.
Compared with the previously mentioned games, storyline does not become a continued discussion.

I think that's easy to say about Marvel vs Capcom 2 which never had a very defined story aside from that vague ending you got involving Ruby Heart and whatever that sphere thing was inside of Abyss.
But considering that Marvel vs Capcom 3 is supposed to have a storyline as opposed to the previous two installments, discussing what the story might be is still a relevant topic. Add the whole voice acting into it in ways that couldn't be done in the 2D era and you have a lot more to work with.
And if it becomes obsolete once people start bitching about tiers, who really cares? Simply put, I care as much about tiers as much as you care about plot.
Still, I think we can all agree that Marvel vs Capcom 3 looks really good right now in its initial development. This is some heavily anticipated stuff, so I bet we all have high hopes about what they deliver on.

Old Man KB Still have no idea what the hell KoF is. Ever see all those little sprites people have in their sigs of their characters that Kraun and other artists keep cranking out? That's the game they originated from.

Oh, well I know it's King of Fighters, some fighting game with azns in it, and there's some sort of anime or... some s**t.
But I don't really know anything about it. Like, it's just a Street Fighter ripoff or something? To be absolutely honest I have little interest in fighting games, even less in fighting games that have a very distinct Japanese bent. I just... don't care to know all that much about the characters and their storylines, I just want to see them fight. I think that's why I lost interest in MK, really.
But ya, King of Fighters. Fier plays a dude from it. Never seen any good come from that.
